How to manage my days doing the RR and boxing?

Hey everyone, how are you?

TL;DR at the end.

So I'm currently back to being broke again, and I've much more free time, so I'm trying to get back to working out. Can't do the gym, I do have some dumbells but I'm gonna stick with the legendary RR routine to get into the habit for a couple of months while I work on my nutrition.

I'm a hobbyiest boxer, not a pro, did a few sessions at a cheap gym but it was honestly bad. There were so many of us, and just one coach, and he barely explained anything. Just told us "1-2-1 for 3 mins" and that's that. Anyway, ended up learning some basic from youtube and quit that gym (it was also pricey, even if it was the cheapest around) so I got myself a bag at home. It kept me active at the time, but then life got in the way and I'm back to square one.

If I do bagwork for 5 rounds, 3 min each, 1 min rest, that's total 19 mins. Should I add those in the same day I do my RR(1 core, 1 push, 1 pull, 1 leg)? I'm doing Sun-Tues-Thurs RR full body and not splitting them.

I want to prioritize rest, but I also want progress, and boxing brings me joy.

TL;DR

I do RR Sun-Tues-Thur (1 core, 1 push, 1 pull, 1 leg) when should I do my 20 min bagwork? Same days, or Mon & Wed? Or is that too much and not enough to rest? I have a 15 min stretch before the bagwork, and then a cooldown afterwords, so around 40 mins or so total. RR would be around 30 mins, I think. Maybe 45 if I take my time with it

How to improve it?

Hey all,

This is for a game studio. Any idea how to improve? I've gone through several iterations, second pic has two of those versions, but the first pic is cleanest and simplest one, and it's what got the most votes when I showed to friends.

R is the initial of the studio. We do narrative focused games, the R comes from a word in our language that means storyteller.

Opinions?

EDIT: Also, every color combo I tried looks too bland and bad. Any tips on how to pic colors? I've looked up color psychology but I'm still lost. I was thinking a 2/3 gradient color to give it life? That way I've a B&W one and the regular colored one.

Can you submit web-based games to game festivals/awards?

Hey everyone, hope you're all good,

Does anyone know of festivals for indie devs that allow submissions for web-based games? (And they're web based because my laptop can't run any game engine lmao.) The game is just like any game though, has some web-based mechanics, cutscenes, music, and a story.

I'd love to attend them but sadly my country only has 1 event (which I'll apply to for 2027!) so these submission has to be remote. I'm not sure how this works. The event where I am in is basically you buy a booth to just showcase your game, but I'm looking for awards? Like The Rookie Awards.

New Ideas for my Game Dev Studio

Hey all!

I've been struggling to come up with a logo design for my narrative focused game dev studio. Here are a bunch of ideas. I've been thinking to just choose the top one since it's the simplest. AH24 is close to A24 and I'm afraid of getting sued, so might ditch that one. The left one is a cool font I found that's free for commercial use.

Archive 24 was supposed to represent the amount of unfinished idea I had over the years that I'm finally giving life to.

Any ideas on how to improve?

I can't find an object that symbolized "archives" so I gave up on that (besides a box, but they're too bland, and I'm not a great designer either.) I'll comission a graphic designer one day, but this year is not the year! I do want to do marketing and content though so I need the logo and brand identity now. Haven't even chosen a color pallete yet.

Need Help Designing a Logo for Game Dev Studio

Hey all,

I'm struggling. I've a bunch of sketches that never made it to photoshop. And those that do....I'm not sure I like em. I'm stuck between the first two names. I think the idea of the moon+controller is cooler than the box for archives. I can't find anything better that'd represent an archive. I tried a house, a door, a room, ain't nothing working.

Kind of games I'm creating are narrative driven, heavy focus on the stories. Archive 24 was supposed to represent the amount of unfinished idea I had over the years that I'm finally giving life to. Endless Nights represent that endless nights I spend on this after my daytime responsibilities.

I'm stuck between a monogram/text based logo or having an icon.

Any heavy constructive criticism please? How can I make these less sh*t? How do I think in a different way to come up with better stuff?

Gum recession & loose lower incissor teeth due to 10+ years of no oral care

Hey all,

Neurodivergent here who was traumatized as a kid, went back to do a root canal last year. And this year I finally got a cleaning. I got loose teeth, esp lower incissors + gum recession there. During the clean I got held back/restrained bec I keep pausing every 30 seconds, insulted and yelled at, compared with a 4 year old...etc. Not officially diagnosed because it's costly and my therapist isn't licensed for this, but my dentist knows about my sensory issues. And yet they continue to mistreat me.

The reason for this post is that I need someone to tell me it's not the end of the world. I'm 21. I'm young. How come I've loose teeth? I can't do implants if they fall, nitrous isn't available in my country and sedation is costly and I'd have to travel for it (which I can't due to health reasons.) I'm also depressed. And I won't stop blaming myself. What if I went sooner to the dentist? Why was I never taught to brush my teeth daily? What could have I done?

Now I'm in this mess. And I've been to THREE dentists. Two of them doesn't understand my sensitivities. And the third understood, but delivered a numbing injection in the wrong technique (and apologized) and it was incredibly painful. It took me three weeks to go back there to close the root canal thing.

I'm scared. My dentist didn't say how bad my loose teeth are. She said continue using paradontax and come see me again. But it's probably bad bec of my habits.

How to prevent my employee from accessing and copying the photos on the card? Or at least alert me if he does?

Hey everyone,

I've a few people among my staff who are private photographers for tourists, however, they have been ripping me off by selling the photos to the customer at a discounted price and not telling me.

I'm trying to find a way to make this not possible, or alert me everytime the card is inserted to another PC before mine.

I found this out my a coincidence and I don't know how often they do this.

Are there cameras that send the photos to the server and never save it to the memory card?

EDIT: No, I can't fire the employees. I'd be without employees. I'm in a third world country, in this industry, everyone is a thief and looking to maximize their profits. Yes, my business model works. I provide equipment, access to boats, tourist office....etc etc etc. My father used to work in this business ten years back, but then we wanted to try something new, and now we're going back. Yes, they used to cheat us back in the day, and dad never got around to solving this problem. Firing doesn't help.

HP Victus 15, external OR swap internal SSD (w/ risk)?

Hey everyone,

I've got a HP Victus 15, and my 512SSD isn't enough. I'm working with Unreal Engine, Blender, and Adobe software. I need more space.

I'm not familiar enough to swap SSDs by myself so I'd have to go to shops. However, living in a third world country, in a smaller town, tends to have shitty electronic/repair shops. I'm afraid if they handle my laptop they'll screw something else or even get it scratch (like my old laptop, it looked like it was tortured)

So, easier option is to get an external 2TB drive, but I've browsed past posts and many say the connection is a drawback, and something about longevitiy? The laptop's or the drive's longevity?

Can anyone explain the drawbacks of this more clearly?

MetaHuman and Blender 3D Question

Hey everyone!

I'm developing a game, and after being unable to find affordable 3D character artists, I've decided to tackle this on my own. I know some Blender 3D, I do scenes/objects, but never sculpted a character before. I saw UE has a MetaHuman feature courtsey of Epic. I've also seen some people say that "you can tell the difference between an original model or a metahuman one."

Can I overcome this problem by editing features in-depth in Blender 3D, or would file formats not work or have another technical problem?

UE MetaHuman - > Blender 3D - > UE scene shooting and animation

I've never worked with UE before and was wondering if anyone has advice?

[IWantOut] 21M Egypt -> Germany, NL

Hey everyone,

I'm an EU citizen looking to go to Germany or NL. Lived in Egypt so far, I'm a fresh grad with an information system degree. 1 IT internship experience.

I'm looking to get a job abroad to be able to support myself & send money back to my mother and sibling (I'm moving them away from an abusive dad situation, mums disabled and my sibling is still in school), this is the best case scenario as currency exchange is insane. There's just one caveat, the only langauge that is useful in the EU that I am fluent in is English. I don't speak dutch or german. I can learn it, but that's a long term goal, I need a job in the next -2-3 months.

Here's what I'm doing right now:

- Polishing up a LinkedIn to directly DM recruiters asking for positions/company culture

- Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn applications

- Searching for roles and narrowing down my search, as I'm a fresh grad and I'm not sure what kinda role I want/am qualified for

What else can I do? Is this possible, to work and afford rent, utils, food, and send 500 EUR back to my family? I'm hoping to relocate them abroad with me at some point.

Jobs are already hard to find everywhere, it's not easy I know. At this point I'm considering any job, even stuff like waiter, but I don't think I'll afford my own rent on that, let alone send 500 back to my fam.

Question: Do I write in my CV that I am already based in Germany? The CV will be up on LinkedIn. I want recruitors to know for sure that I don't require visa sponsorship. Do I write Germany or NL, or it doesn't matter?

Also, if there are other countries that are better, tell me! I've picked these two after researching and reading so many past reddit threads about CS/Tech jobs in Europe.

How to pick a country and find a job to move? Do I take any min. wage job or utilize my degree?

Hey everyone,

I'm a fresh grad. I need to move out within the next three months with my mum and sibling, away from my abusive father. Unfortunately, there's no way I can make enough money working here, so I need to leave. Currency exchange is wild so I'll afford my family a comfortable life if I work abroad, until my sibling finishes school and comes to work with me abroad.

Now. I've an EU passport, but I am also searching anywhere in the gulf. How do I pick a country/city to find a job in, considering I speak English only? Is that even possible? I'm in tech/business with an american degree I earned through a full scholarship. I'm also a fresh grad, with one IT internship.

I keep getting rejections, so now I'm honestly considering searching for jobs in service like waiter at a restaurant? But salaries and CoL differ widly, I need to be able to survive and then send back enough for my family. Maybe this will be the easiest step, and afterwards I can find work for my degree in that area?

I'm so lost, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Five years of wasted time, guilt, depressed, undiagnosed adhd, cant get out of bed.

Hey everyone,

The title basically says it. I'm graduating soon. I'm having difficulty finding a job. I'm lonely. I need to get my sibling and mother away from our narcisstic abusive father, they're tired and want to leave. I'm their only hope, mum doesn't work and bro's in school.

I have depression for as long as I remember. Undiagnosed. I'm no stranger to suicidal thoughts. I hate waking up. I stay up late to delay tomorrow. I'm in so much stress from daily life that I've ruined my body, like I get physical symptoms from the stress now.

I try. I tried so much. Last time it worked was Nov. of 2025. I worked on my game dev project for two-three weeks before everything went to shit again. Got a health problem. I was so stressed, I couldn't do anything. Grades slipped. Did nothing.

I've done nothing for five but stay in college. I wasted so much time scrolling, or reading, escaping reality. I could have written more, drew more, learned to play my piano and advance in guitar, I could have finished my passion game dev project. But I was so fucking stressed, it took over my life.

I'm so fucking tired. Some days I feel utterly to numb to everything. I could lie in bed, do nothing for hours, and hold my tears in bec i can't break down in front of my family.

I want someone to hug, to tell me its gonna be okay, I want to be held man. I've never had that. I feel like asking my mum or brother would make me seem weak and vulenrable and I hate that. And my friends never really understand me. They brush my struggles away or tell me that everyone struggles so it's normal.

I'm not sure what kind of response I am expecting. Maybe just "you're not alone"s or "it's gonna get better"? Ik it'll get better. For a fewmonths before being shit again for a few years, cause that's the cycle.

I know what I need to fix this. A year off. A year to fix my sleep, to slowly get back to boxing, to stretching, to eating healthier. Slowly introduce new habits and my old hobbies. One step at a time.

I can't do any of that in an abusive household. My family are my responsibility. I can't seem to find a job soon enough. I'd take anything, idc what it is, I just want to afford rent and utils and food. That's all. How hard can that be?

EDIT: tried getting diagnosed for adhd and depression, but it was a bad experience, and there's barely any professionals in my area that are good. Going to the capital is way out of budget. I'm hoping once I move out with a job, that I'll finally be able to see one and talk to them.

Lost on how to find a role I like/job hunt for it

Hey all!

I'm a recent grad. I am an EU citizen but lived abroad my whole life, and I'm planning to move back. I've completed my info sys degree from a good univeristy, and I'm looking to job hunt! Problem is, I'm not sure what I like. Should I apply for everything and explore as I do? Where do I even apply? I've been using indeed and glassdoor, anything else I should be doing? I also make it a point to apply through company site instead of through linkedin for example.
