Hi guys, newly taking Zoloft but not new to taking SSRIs.. has anyone who is prone to autoimmune like flares experienced a flare up while starting the medication?

I haven’t been on an SSRI in about 4 years. Due to a chronic type “mystery” illness (still trying to figure it out) that has a ton of autoimmune like symptoms my life my mental health has declined and my anxiety and depression has been activated.

Does anyone have experience with having a full body “flare” when adjusting to the meds? In the past I’d feel floaty and nauseas but this time my mystery flare is in full force mode (headache, diarrhea, nausea, muscle/joint pain, swollen face/red eyelids) this is not uncommon for me when I’m reacting to certain triggers. I started the medication 4 days ago. I’m hoping the meds aren’t a trigger. I would try to stick it out but I can’t function like this.

Thank you.

Hi all - I'm so glad I found this group. I'm ISO recommendations for functional med docs/protocols etc. I feel desperate and I'm hoping someone here can help me.

If you recommend a functional med doctor in NY/LI/NJ for comprehensive testing please let me know!

I'm a 32 yo F with a slew of odd issues that have been explored with traditional med doctors. I haven't found a root cause and I am exhausted physically and mentally. My apologies for the TMI in advance.

After plenty of research on my end, I feel as if I probably have underlying histamine issues, yeast issues & horrible gut issues as my immune system is extremely poor. I tend to get recurrent BV/Yeast infections, "mystery flares", I have chronic diarrhea issues (everything came back "fine" from endoscopy/colonocosopy results), skin issues (folliculitis, itchiness), fatigue etc. I'm sure it doesn't help that I have PCOS and endometriosis (recently completely removed from surgery) but I desperately need a starting point.

From last July until now alone I've suffered from chronic BV (aka tons of antibiotic tx), gallbladder removal & hospitalization for a liver infection (more antibiotics), then CDiff (more antibiotics), then E Coli, and slap on the bunch of colds I get from working with children. I also have a ton of herniated discs so I take an occasional steroid pack. Not taking into account the many years prior of antibiotics for other problems (like recurrent strep, tonsils got removed at 27).

It is extremely hard to know where to start when my head is spinning and my body is going crazy. I try to keep a low tox lifestyle, I'm dairy free & recently started a gluten free diet.

Is there anyone in this group that can help with a starting point? I did order the tinyhealth gut map test but I haven't received it yet.

I would truly appreciate any help. This has been so debilitating that I question leaving my career as I can't show up properly. Thank you in advance.

Manufacture error 🦜🤪

Manufacturing? manufacturer? oops.

Opened my authentic Sonny box & was like why do I feel crazy right now? Something felt off. Then I went home and compared him to my other parakeet.

Can you tell? (LEFT) The eye looks so fuzzy/less refined & the lashes are shorter! The head even looks smaller. None of my Sonny’s eyes look like this! Has this happened to anyone else before? I ordered from the website. He’s all effed up.

Someone wanted to trade for my parakeet so I gave her the better one & now I’m stuck with this guy. 😂

Has anyone been awake for a nerve block? L5-S1 🩻

I’ve been dealing with back pain for over 5 years now & have tried so many things to avoid surgery. I have a number of herniated discs and chronic back pain.

As of late, I’m getting a nerve block for my L5-S1. I’ve had a number of needles BUT never a nerve block. The doctor prescribed me Valium but there will be no anesthesia/twilight.

Are they as bad as an epidural? Thank you. Trying to figure out what to expect and/or if I should look for a new doctor so I can be given twilight and sleep through it 🥲

Hi all— I’ve been a special ed SLP for 10 years & I’m making a shift to pre-k special ed… question!

I’ve worked with elementary through high school kids with moderate-severe disabilities but I haven’t worked with littles in a few years. I’ll be doing a lot of work with behavior management, feeding, foundational language skills etc.

None of this is new to me BUT I want to refresh myself & read up on sensory/oral motor feeding, early language development etc.

Does anyone love a specific special ed instagram account, podcast or book? I’ll take any suggestions!

I’ll be leading a pre-k 6:1:1 class with the special ed teacher & I’m doubting myself because it’s a change. We’re rolling out a new program so the pressure is real! Any pointers welcome.

THANKS 💗

I swear I never healed post surgery— is anyone in this group in the same boat as I am?

I got my gallbladder out mid October 2025. A week later I had a blockage, liver infection, and an ERCP where the doc performed a sphincterotomy on me. I clearly didn’t have the best post surgical outcome, but I can’t believe that all of these months later I still suffer with pain and constant local discomfort. I can’t lay on my side (more so the right side) or my stomach, which is typically might go to sleeping position. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Have people taken very long to heal? I have spoken to my doctor about this and the response isn’t very helpful. I recently got an updated sono & MRCP but they came back fine.

Please help. 😔

Is anyone looking to sell any of the following in this photo:

They’re my ISO, the ones with the little heart are DISO, however I know Doberman is unheard of finding and also super expensive so he’s my unrealistic DISO 😂🐶

*Reddit asks for Proof of Life POL when posting in this thread but I am NOT selling these I’m in search of lol. Just writing this so my post doesn’t get removed*

First time ovulating since my excision surgery— question, anyone experience a tough ovulation post surgery? Please help.

I was actually due for my period on my surgery date. I couldn’t tell if I was bleeding post surgery with my period or just from the surgery. The surgeon believes it was my period & if I’m tracking correctly, it means I’m ovulating right now and I have been having pretty bad pelvic pain and lower back pain. Cramps too. I was hoping my ovulation complications would get better after surgery, but has anyone had experience with some symptoms getting worse before they got better? I’m chalking it up to my body adjusting to healing since my surgery was on June 25th. I just want to know if there’s some sort of light at the end of the tunnel.

Any input helps thank you 💗💗💗
