We the Free Vegan Stall at Pride - Bad Experience

Anyone else at Dublin Pride in Merrion Park yesterday go up to the tent with the sign saying "watch a movie and win a prize" because I was left feeling very upset by the approach of the group to give no content warnings on a video depicting the graphic slaughter of cows, to then corner me immediately after watching it to belittle me for drinking milk. I found it very distasteful and out of place for the event. My girlfriend had asked them what the video was before we watched, too, and all they said was that it was 'about consumerism'. This is the kind of thing that could really impact someone with trauma without giving them the proper warnings before watching. Made me less inclined to become vegan and I'm already a vegetarian who has grown up with parents who work in animal welfare. If anyone else had a similar experience, I'd love to hear that I'm not going crazy.

Edit: emailed the pride organisers about it and it turns out they were not officially part of the event and had snuck in and set up in one of the empty tents! Makes their behaviour even worse.

Free conjugation practice

Hi there - are they any recommendations for how to practice conjugating verbs across the different tenses in action? I know there's some paid stuff out there, but I'd love to know if there are any good resources that have worked for people where you can, say, focus on the preterite and master the preterite. Or if you have any specific advice for tackling conjugation practice. I'm trying to get the basic tenses under my belt by the end of the year and want to make sure I practice them effectively.

“Me gustas” help?

Can someone explain the grammatical structure behind “me gustas” because it means “I like you”, unless I’m mistaken, but that kind of structure with another verb, for example “te odio” would mean “I hate you”, is completely different. The latter structure makes sense to me with the pronoun of the person you’re referring to coming first, and the conjugation relating to the speaker, but for “me gustas” it seems to be the opposite. I don’t understand :(

Help Me Understand Chromosome Painting

No matter what I read, I can't quite grasp what this is telling me. It says that the longer stretches mean its more recent in my family history but what do the numbers mean? And frankly I find that that doesn't quite match up -- Basque/Spanish should be on the same level as Southern Wales (one from my grandmother, one from my grandfather) but Southern Wales seems to have longer stretches. Does it mean anything that number 1 is Southern Wales and Leinster, Ireland? I don't quite understand what any of it means. Help!

Which is better for certain ancestry?

I have done an Ancestry DNA test but have noticed that it seems to provide me with double, triple the number of matches for my Irish & British ancestry than it does for my Iberian, Mediterranean, Italian ancestry, and I was wondering if this is because there's another test that is more popular in those regions that I could do to help find matches on that side of my heritage? I'm trying to find out more about Italian great-great-grandparents but don't know much about them and no matches that seem to be connected.

Errors in Ancestry's maternal/paternal labelling

I've noticed that a lot of my matches which are labelled as 'maternal' matches are shared matches with my father and my paternal aunt. It seems strange that Ancestry thinks they're maternal matches and are so insistent on it when 1) I share the matches with quite immediate paternal family members and 2) don't share the matches with my mother, which it seems likely I would if they are maternal. What's that about? I re-labelled the matches to paternal and it's trying to guilt me into accepting that they're correct about it lol.

Argentinian Spanish Resources

Does anyone have any good resources for learning Argentinian Spanish, particularly for focusing on conjugating verbs when using vos? I find the app Ella Verbs really helpful for practicing conjugations overall and was wondering if anyone knows of something similar to that which could give me practice with using vos. Gracias!

National Theatre 16-25 Tickets

I signed up for the 16-25 tickets when I lived in London and have since moved home (outside the UK) and I know that their scheme specifies it is for UK residents. I know when I went when I was living there they never checked, but since I intend to fly over for a specific show if I get a ticket, I want to see if anyone else has had an experience at the NT wherein they've been asked about residency? I doubt they'd go to the trouble and would be more concerned with the age than anything (and I still qualify age-wise) but just want to see. Thanks!

Advice for meeting with producer

I have a meeting with a producer who has read my TV pilot episode and said they enjoyed it. I am quite anxious about it as I am not sure what to expect from the meeting and want to try and be as prepared as possible without getting my hopes up lol. This is a first for me and I'm very new to all of this and am afraid of messing my chances up. Does anyone have any advice?
