This took me 6 hours to put on the stock wheel. I opted to take the steering wheel out of the car and completely dismantle it and then very carefully tape the cover on with the double-sided tape that was included and then it took a billion years to stitch it on real good, and then I had to do a bunch of super gluing just to make it extra well fitted, and then put it all back together which was kind of difficult with the extra material and stuff so it's not quite as tight as it used to be without the material but it's still good.

I recommend this. You can get them custom made with whatever materials and colors you want or they have default options that are cheaper and will ship faster. Not sponsored.

And then

And then

And then

Thats my bad. Professional run-on sentence writer

Diy tuning for GE with Ktuner

So I have a stock (with intention of bolt-ons in the future) GE fit. I have done some handling improvements and will continue with that going forward (i know that these dont make power without a turbo, and everyone who asks performance questions always gets the same answer of progress sway bar and coilovers and tires etc. Thats not what im asking about)

I want to get a ktuner v1.2 and maintain use of 87 octane (gas is expensive and its my daily) but just change some stuff so that the car is more sporty and responsive.

It's my understanding that k tuner has settings for rev hang, throttle response, and VTEC engagement etc that you can mess with without changing ignition and fuel mapping and all that fancy stuff that I don't understand.

My initial goal is just to dial in the responsivness on basically a stock tune but just change some stuff to make it better, and then in the future with an intake and headers and exhaust and all that jazz (pun intended) I could get a professionally done tune.

From yalls experience with ktuner how realistic is that plan/is there an option that I don't know about that maintains 87 octane but then basically dials in the car as stock that i can just flash on.

It's been hard to figure out if the k-tuner software comes with base/starter tunes that you can flash on with stock components but like add performance or if that's misinformation.

For such a popular platform it's a little bit hard to find concise information about the fits tuning process. At least in language that i can understand being that i dont have any knowledge about ecu tuning besides the basic understanding of what it is.

[wtb] M10 Bedrock Cairn Evo Sandals (not clogs)

I'm looking for a good condition pair of these

If it doesn't have a ton of wear on the outsole, the insole doesn't have a significantly defined footprint in it, and the straps aren't messed up structurally, then its good with me.

Not looking to spend more than $80 but may be persuaded.

Colors I don't like -

Black

Block landscape (camo)

Bone tan

Lupine purple

Wildflower yellow

Wildflower coral

Abstract navy rock

Acceptable colors -

Clay

Slate blue

Charcoal

Burgundy

Cascade green

Abstract rock brown (maybe)

These may not be all the options, this is just whats currently on the Bedrock website. If you have a different color than what is listed here and its a mens size 10 then i may also be interested in that.

PM me with any offers.

Thankya!

This job sucks balls. Im just not gonna go

This is mostly complaining fyi.

Ive worked at discount for about 2 months, and ive had 2 good shifts (not horrible shifts so automatically considered decent) and the rest have basically been super ass. Its not really the work that bothers me, just everything else. Management sucks, having a bunch of superiors that tell me to do and not to do shit, or tell me conflicting shit, sucks. Not making enough money for how physically difficult the work is sucks + having to tolerate the people I work with, etc.

I think today will be my last day, my boss is a dick, so i kinda wanna be a dick back and just stop showing up. Im scheduled for two more days this week, and i think im just not gonna go. This place sucks man. I mean most of the dudes in charge are like 30-45 ish and they are all pretentious, cocky, grumpy, disrespectful, prejudice, manipulative, spiteful, unfair, unappreciative, and just unkind people, and like i know its a man space and its blue collar, but there is a different between being an actual fucking dick to your employees and just being "one of the guys".

I just dont wanna tolerate it. I live with my parents and its summer break from school, i dont realistically need much money right now, and I'm going to legitimately dive into starting a business and I have really great ideas and it would not be the first time I have had a business, and i know a lot more now and really believe ill be successful if i lock in.

I think leaving discount is the move. Id rather be more broke, but less depressed and angry. I dont love getting home after work and lowk being a dick to my family because im so worn out and upset, and then i need to like apologize and shit, but its pretty hard to not be a grumpy dick when you just got off a shift of dealing with multiple grumpy dick ass dudes on a hot summer day, when they come in from their air conditioned showroom to bitch you out about your shirt not being tucked in or they tell you how to do your job even tho you are doing it correctly already.

I dont know if some guys just have a better experience at their location or what, but I can't imagine how anyone could find any enjoyment from this job.

I understand how the boss man finds enjoyment tho. He enjoys selling shit to people that dont know any better so he can line his pockets, and he likes feeling powerful because he is in charge of a buncha highschool guys and young men who he can belittle and be an asshole too, whilst simultaneously believing that everyone likes him. Dude deadass has the same personality that I imagine serial killers have, like charismatic and shit, but secretly evil asf.

Also, How are you even supposed to make friends at work when you're just constantly working the whole time and there's no time to have a conversation, idk how other people do it.

For reference to my lack of toleration, I only get paid $15 an hour. That aint shit pal, and they act like it is just because its above the minimum wage or whatever. $15 an hour is like homelessness for anyone that doesn't live with their parents, thats like super poverty levels of money bro, thats like having 5 roomates type of money bro. I feel like this job should start at like $20 or $25 with how hard it is physically. Its all just some major bs.

The only reason my previous business failed is because I didn't have enough time and I didn't advertise myself well enough. When I had work I made hella money. I could make in a day what I would make in a week at the discount tire. Thats some baller shit. It's just that I wouldn't get enough work because i didn't advertise besides word of mouth.

But my new business idea will work, and i know i can make it happen. Its also just something i dont hate doing and im good at.

I thought discount was gonna be a dope job because it's dudes and it's sort of car related which is my thing and, one of my buddies works there, but like nah man. Its overwhelmingly ass. Not at all worth staying. Company loyalty is a silly concept for something like this, and I don't really care how it looks on my resume because guess what...you can lie on your resume.

Do yall fellas hate your job or am i just a bitch?

I feel like its pretty justified to hate it. If being a "real man" means working a job that makes you wanna kill yourself and beat your wife (i dont have wife) then maybe i dont care about being a "real man" (a good few of these older guys i work with are definitely not good husbands)

This shit is just real stupid. Theres guys whose job is racecar driver, or fucking fighter pilot, or something cool like that. Theres guys who actually like their job. I want to like my job, or at least not hate my job.

If people actually reported shit to HR my boss and all my lesser bosses would be so fucked.

GE clunks out of 2nd and into 3rd weird

Its a 2010 sport manual. I have acuity cable bushings and hybrid racing detent springs (no short shifter yet) and anyways. When i go from 2nd to 3rd it clunky and unsmooth. As i depress the clutch and put light pressure on the shifter forward, it seems like it wants to hang in the gear for a sec, then it pops out and goes into 3rd kinda aggressively. Makes a louder "click into gear" sound than the other gears. Is this a syncro thing or just a fault of the shorter, stiffer detent springs. It doesn't happen for any other gears.

Flock camera evasion and plate covers etc

They keep popping up, and i personally dont want to be logged constantly in an ever growing database of surveillance information that can be used by local law enforcement, the government, or any tech savvy individual to stalk me or whatever. Do any of you run distorting license plate covers and have you had trouble with police because of it.

I was looking at this one

https://camerastopper.com/products/camerastopper-system-cover-lens

and it is totally clear but from a vertical angle it distorts the numbers on your plate. Flock cameras are high up so in a lot of cases this would make your plate much harder to read.

Im not a criminal, i just don't think it's right that this evil company can just put cameras up all over the country without any American citizens voting for it or having any say in it even though it directly affects our lives and privacy and is pretty damn unconstitutional based on the 4th amendment. Like yea you're in a public place, but these cameras can build the database that tracks your every move and what you're doing inside the car and your political opinions based on bumper stickers etc, and build a profile on you, and police or government can access all of that without a warrant, which for sure is messed up.

According to Oklahoma law any plate cover is illegal, but it also says that the plate has to be fully visible and legible, and like technically that cover is legible so.. idk.

This whole countrywide dystopian surveillance thing is just fucked up. As citizens we gotta do something about it and fight back. Is this really the world we want to be living in?

Also, if there are any cops on this sub, what do you think about these cameras? Like not as a cop but as a hopefully ethical individual.

Anyone ever do an electric AC compressor and custom system?

I saw a YouTube video recently where this guy was installing an electric compressor from Amazon on his honda basically just retrofitting a new ac system to it, i thought that was kinda interesting. I also know that you can buy those ac kits for classic cars. My 85 has AC but it doesn't work, and like I could fix it, or i could find another way. Just curious if anyone has found alternative AC options. Also, for anyone who doesn't have AC and lives in a place that can get pretty hot (like up to 100°f), whats that experience like. I really just don't want to have AC because it's another system I have to spend money on and take care of, but i dont live somewhere thats always nice weather. I do have vent windows and a back window on my truck, but idk, it gets pretty hot out here sometimes.

Cant get 22r intake manifold off

1985 pickup 22r

I've tried wiggling it and kind of like prying it off with a screwdriver and all sorts of stuff and it's just really on there. Did I miss something?

What type of shop would make this part.

(sorry my illustration is kinda shit, but I think it shows all that necessary measurements. Also if someone wants to make this and send it to me i would absolutely pay and that would be very dope. Im in the US btw, thats probably relavant)

So i need this so i can loop the steering box on my truck and no longer have power steering just to simplify things. I dont have a line flaring kit, and i dont have whatever tool you need to bend a pipe in such a tight radius, and I'm pretty broke so I imagine paying someone to make this simple part for me would still be cheaper than buying the tools and making it myself.

I don't know if a mechanic shop would be willing to make this for me or if there is a specific type of person or business that most towns or cities have that would make something like this.

Would a plumber or some other type of trade person have the stuff for this? Its really a simple thing to make and i would just get the tools (i love buying tools) but i am pretty short on disposable income rn.

Just learned that permethrin doesn't effect spiders

Well maybe it does a little but, not like i thought tho. I wish i had never looked up what type of insects and stuff permethrin effects. I would prefer to still be ignorant.

Im a big outdoorsman typa guy, but ive always had arachnophobia and that tends to be severely counterintuitive to being such an outdoorsy person, and i recently learned about permethrin and got super stoked cuz im going on another backpacking trip soon and i thought, "this stuff is so dope, i wont have to worry about spiders crawling on me so much", but today i got curious and actually looked it up, and it turns out thats not true. It is what it is. Ultimately i can thug out my irrational fears pretty well when i know there is nothing i can really do about it. At least the ticks and mosquitoes will piss off.

I have an 85 Toyota pickup and im rebuilding the whole thing, most of the parts i buy are from rockauto... would that qualify my truck to be a magnet model? It sure would be badass if they made a magnet of my truck and like other people got them in their packages and then like i could go to my honies garage in ten years and see my truck in his magnet collection.

My truck is an 85 2wd xtracab fyi.

Im looking at the https://www.belltech.com/products/lowering-kit-w-street-performance-shocks-444sp/

Are any of yall running this setup, and how would you describe the diving experience. Im doing a full rebuild of my steering an suspension, and ive already replaced shocks, but i dont mind getting even better ones with this kit. I dont expect my pickup to handle like a sports car or whatever, but improvment would be cool. Im just more curious about the ride quality.

Been working at a tire shop for about a month. Its my first "manly blue collar hell hea brother" kind of job, at least with other guys. Previously ive just done handyman shit for family friends and stuff, but that was all solo.

Anyways, im having a hard time getting into the work culture and stuff. I mean the guys treat me like im the worlds #1 retard, which is probably just cuz im the new guy, but then they say shit like "well it makes sense you dont know everything or whatever cuz you just started" but then when i dont know something im a fucking moron i guess.

I know alot of that is probably unserious but its hard to tell how much of it is just them busting my balls and how much is actual resentment from me messing up.

Also, the general work culture is like insults and being a dick but its always a joke tho, and i dont have that skill. Unfortunately for me my parents raised me to be like a "kind empathetic man" or whatever, which is great in theory, but in the real world with other men its mostly just a handicap.

How much of this shit is just part of the new guy ritual experience, and would any of you have any advice for how to become a well liked member of the crew as i level up from "new guy" to just another guy that works there. Or are you always the new guy till someone else gets hired. I don't fucking know. Sometimes work is chill and sometimes i feel like im the dumbest motherfucker to walk the earth when im there.

Another thing. If i dont talk unless i need to but i get my work done, does that make me look like an autistic freak, or just a chill guy. Cuz im an introvert and i dont usually talk unless i actually got something to say, so like when theres not much going on and the other guys are talking im just like off sweeping or something. But when i try to get in the group, i cant ever get a shot to talk.

So far the guys seem to think im actually sped, cuz when someone says something to me i usually dont hear them and i say "huh" but how tf can i hear them when its so loud in the shop all the time.

Tried to ask my dad about this shit but he's always been like a computer programmer guy so he doesn't get it.
