Flock camera evasion and plate covers etc

They keep popping up, and i personally dont want to be logged constantly in an ever growing database of surveillance information that can be used by local law enforcement, the government, or any tech savvy individual to stalk me or whatever. Do any of you run distorting license plate covers and have you had trouble with police because of it.

I was looking at this one

https://camerastopper.com/products/camerastopper-system-cover-lens

and it is totally clear but from a vertical angle it distorts the numbers on your plate. Flock cameras are high up so in a lot of cases this would make your plate much harder to read.

Im not a criminal, i just don't think it's right that this evil company can just put cameras up all over the country without any American citizens voting for it or having any say in it even though it directly affects our lives and privacy and is pretty damn unconstitutional based on the 4th amendment. Like yea you're in a public place, but these cameras can build the database that tracks your every move and what you're doing inside the car and your political opinions based on bumper stickers etc, and build a profile on you, and police or government can access all of that without a warrant, which for sure is messed up.

According to Oklahoma law any plate cover is illegal, but it also says that the plate has to be fully visible and legible, and like technically that cover is legible so.. idk.

This whole countrywide dystopian surveillance thing is just fucked up. As citizens we gotta do something about it and fight back. Is this really the world we want to be living in?

Also, if there are any cops on this sub, what do you think about these cameras? Like not as a cop but as a hopefully ethical individual.

Anyone ever do an electric AC compressor and custom system?

I saw a YouTube video recently where this guy was installing an electric compressor from Amazon on his honda basically just retrofitting a new ac system to it, i thought that was kinda interesting. I also know that you can buy those ac kits for classic cars. My 85 has AC but it doesn't work, and like I could fix it, or i could find another way. Just curious if anyone has found alternative AC options. Also, for anyone who doesn't have AC and lives in a place that can get pretty hot (like up to 100°f), whats that experience like. I really just don't want to have AC because it's another system I have to spend money on and take care of, but i dont live somewhere thats always nice weather. I do have vent windows and a back window on my truck, but idk, it gets pretty hot out here sometimes.

Cant get 22r intake manifold off

1985 pickup 22r

I've tried wiggling it and kind of like prying it off with a screwdriver and all sorts of stuff and it's just really on there. Did I miss something?

What type of shop would make this part.

(sorry my illustration is kinda shit, but I think it shows all that necessary measurements. Also if someone wants to make this and send it to me i would absolutely pay and that would be very dope. Im in the US btw, thats probably relavant)

So i need this so i can loop the steering box on my truck and no longer have power steering just to simplify things. I dont have a line flaring kit, and i dont have whatever tool you need to bend a pipe in such a tight radius, and I'm pretty broke so I imagine paying someone to make this simple part for me would still be cheaper than buying the tools and making it myself.

I don't know if a mechanic shop would be willing to make this for me or if there is a specific type of person or business that most towns or cities have that would make something like this.

Would a plumber or some other type of trade person have the stuff for this? Its really a simple thing to make and i would just get the tools (i love buying tools) but i am pretty short on disposable income rn.

Just learned that permethrin doesn't effect spiders

Well maybe it does a little but, not like i thought tho. I wish i had never looked up what type of insects and stuff permethrin effects. I would prefer to still be ignorant.

Im a big outdoorsman typa guy, but ive always had arachnophobia and that tends to be severely counterintuitive to being such an outdoorsy person, and i recently learned about permethrin and got super stoked cuz im going on another backpacking trip soon and i thought, "this stuff is so dope, i wont have to worry about spiders crawling on me so much", but today i got curious and actually looked it up, and it turns out thats not true. It is what it is. Ultimately i can thug out my irrational fears pretty well when i know there is nothing i can really do about it. At least the ticks and mosquitoes will piss off.

I have an 85 Toyota pickup and im rebuilding the whole thing, most of the parts i buy are from rockauto... would that qualify my truck to be a magnet model? It sure would be badass if they made a magnet of my truck and like other people got them in their packages and then like i could go to my honies garage in ten years and see my truck in his magnet collection.

My truck is an 85 2wd xtracab fyi.

Im looking at the https://www.belltech.com/products/lowering-kit-w-street-performance-shocks-444sp/

Are any of yall running this setup, and how would you describe the diving experience. Im doing a full rebuild of my steering an suspension, and ive already replaced shocks, but i dont mind getting even better ones with this kit. I dont expect my pickup to handle like a sports car or whatever, but improvment would be cool. Im just more curious about the ride quality.

Been working at a tire shop for about a month. Its my first "manly blue collar hell hea brother" kind of job, at least with other guys. Previously ive just done handyman shit for family friends and stuff, but that was all solo.

Anyways, im having a hard time getting into the work culture and stuff. I mean the guys treat me like im the worlds #1 retard, which is probably just cuz im the new guy, but then they say shit like "well it makes sense you dont know everything or whatever cuz you just started" but then when i dont know something im a fucking moron i guess.

I know alot of that is probably unserious but its hard to tell how much of it is just them busting my balls and how much is actual resentment from me messing up.

Also, the general work culture is like insults and being a dick but its always a joke tho, and i dont have that skill. Unfortunately for me my parents raised me to be like a "kind empathetic man" or whatever, which is great in theory, but in the real world with other men its mostly just a handicap.

How much of this shit is just part of the new guy ritual experience, and would any of you have any advice for how to become a well liked member of the crew as i level up from "new guy" to just another guy that works there. Or are you always the new guy till someone else gets hired. I don't fucking know. Sometimes work is chill and sometimes i feel like im the dumbest motherfucker to walk the earth when im there.

Another thing. If i dont talk unless i need to but i get my work done, does that make me look like an autistic freak, or just a chill guy. Cuz im an introvert and i dont usually talk unless i actually got something to say, so like when theres not much going on and the other guys are talking im just like off sweeping or something. But when i try to get in the group, i cant ever get a shot to talk.

So far the guys seem to think im actually sped, cuz when someone says something to me i usually dont hear them and i say "huh" but how tf can i hear them when its so loud in the shop all the time.

Tried to ask my dad about this shit but he's always been like a computer programmer guy so he doesn't get it.
