Why are so many people begging on r/IndiaFinance for money?

Why are so many people begging on r/IndiaFinance for money?

[Rant]

Every now and then I see people posting they need some money urgently and they’ll pay back.

There is so much knowledge shared here on this subreddit a million times to prepare your emergency fund in case you’re fired tomorrow. Are people not reading any of that or is this an easy way out to get some cash by asking around online?

Just because this is an anonymous platform, people openly come and think they wont get judged?

I am sorry if this sounds rude but as long as you have two hands, two feet, two eyes and a brain; you shouldn’t beg!

You can cut your expenses, sell stuff, do some online job and save yourself! We are in 2026 for god’s sake, not 1926!

Are you a Home Baked Puff lover? 😍

Crispy, spicy, hot, fresh from the oven. I can eat them every single day with a cup of coffee and not get bored.

I have experimented with a few basic fillings and they were so good! These puff pastry sheets are so versatile, you can fill them with anything and they turn out amazing.

Paneer + capsicum
Potato + peas
Boiled egg + onion
Cheese + corn
Mayonnaise + spinach

What other interesting filling have you tried? 🤔

How much would you pay for this Croissant Samosa Sandwich?

Butter flaky croissant, spicy crispy samosa inside. With red and green chutneys. And some fried chillies in the side.

- Is this a good hotseller / viral food idea for a Tier 2 city?

- how much would one pay for this? Served from a roadside food cart.

- is this good as a fresh food cart idea? Or delivery only?

- if its delivery only, one can always pack ingredients separately like chutneys, samosa, croissant, all separate.

Thoughts?

Is microcement flooring a good idea over cracked cemented floor? Better than tiles?

About to start flooring makeover for the entire home. Can’t decide:

  1. What to choose, Tiles or the latest trend microcement flooring?
  2. Not sure if microcement is even possible in Tier 2 cities.
  3. I am looking at durability plus keeping the floor cool during summers.
  4. Space is 1 master bedroom, 1 small bedroom, 1 study plus pooja room, 1 kitchen, 2 bathroom plus toilets, 1 large balcony.
  5. Independent home, living on first floor.

Why dont people come back here and post pictures of home improvement after asking for help?

So many people post their photos here and ask for help. I haven’t seen a single post where someone came back here AFTER actually making those suggested changes! 🤔

Finger fryums experiment 😍💯

Bought a pack of finger fryums.
Filled it with leftover spicy potato sandwich masala.
Dipped the edges in tomato ketchup.
Coated the edges with bhujiya sev.

The result: crispy, spicy, crunchy snack ready in 5 minutes!

Have you tried experimenting with these finger fryums? Or you just eat them as they are? (They are amazing without any filling too 😃😃😃)

What oils do you use daily for cooking? 🥘

At my home we use a mix of oils serving different purposes:
Ghee - used sparingly for tadkas, parathas
Mustard oil - for traditional recipes
Sunflower oil - for frying
Soybean oil - for curries / sabji
Olive oil - for Indo-italian food

If sunflower oil / soybean oil or olive oil suddenly become more expensive tomorrow, we will be dependent only on ghee or mustard oil. No neutral oil 😒

Curious to know what will you do to replace / reduce / manage imported oils dependency?

We need a samosa emoji! 😍 Agree?

Samosa is an emotion.

And one of the most widely recognized Indian snacks ever. So many fillings, so versatile!

The only worry: its emoji will end up looking like a nacho chip / doritos 🧐

What if I dont have any financial goals but just want to save money?

If I am going through a career and personal life upheaval, therefore dont have any financial goals as such; how much should I save every month? Salary is 1.8 lakhs per month. WFH. Not married. Living with mother. Tier 2 city. Monthly expenses are not more than 25k. Rental income is around 60k per month (one 2bhk apartment on rent and 11 student PG rooms).

I cant confidently assume that I may not be employed for the rest of my life or if I will have constant cash flow per month. I wonder how people here on this subreddit are so damn confident that they will get to keep their jobs plus bonuses, will keep reinvesting and step up SIP and all that. I have zero confidence that I will be able to keep my job, looking at the million changes happening in the world around us everyday.

In such a scenario, what do I even save? And how much? Please help.
