Playing Killer is just one giant pile of lose-lose situations

See a gen that's being progressed, and someone runs away? Either you kick it, losing distance and probably not making any meaningful difference because someone immediately touches it again, or you don't, and it doesn't lost progress. A survivor runs you to a loop and drops a pallet? You either break it and the survivor runs to the next safe loop 10 feet away, or you don't and have to deal with it being down. Survivor running from you? You either chase them and potentially get a hook state while losing crazy progress on gens because they move at the speed of light, or you don't and they reset just to go through the whole song and dance again.

I love the fact that every map has 14,000 pallets and windows that all chain into each other

Fuck me, what am I supposed to do? If I break a pallet, they just run to the next safe loop, I maybe get a hit off, if I don't, they drop a pallet and it's onto the next. Gens go ridiculously fast, even when I'm running both No Holds Barred and Dead Man's Switch for pressure. I just want to play Chucky man.

I wish I could like the Rivals devs more, but I just can't

I don't mean to be a downer, but the longer I play Rivals and am part of its community the more I realize that the devs are just incompetent. That's the conclusion. They have...

-Nerfed every aspect of Gambit bar the actually broken part, same with Daredevil's overshield.

-They buffed Star-Lord and Phoenix in the same patch that they wishy-washily kinda-nerfed Mr. Fantastic, someone who has never been above low B tier.

-They powercrept Hela out of the game with Phoenix, then did the same thing to Phoenix with Cyclops less than a year later.

-They nerfed Ultron, for Christ's sake, when he is literally only viable in triple support. He never should've been a support in the first place.

-Flyers have been D tier for God knows how long.

-Black Panther's kit is so badly designed that he cannot be good or it will be stupid broken, and if it's not stupid broken, it's garbage.

-They could very easily have made Phoenix a strategist, but no, we needed another hitscan poke DPS while Ultron gets turned into a support.

-We also got Black Cat over Kingpin, which is a massive fumble imo.

Best sensitivity for mouse & keyboard?

Title. Trying to get into playing Punisher, and I'm consistently getting an accuracy of ~40% in game. What should my sensitivity be set to, and how can I improve my aim smoothness? My current aim feels rather jittery, like I'm making constant micro-adjustments as opposed to smooth motion.

Black Cat should never have been in the game, ESPECIALLY over Kingpin

Pros:

-Hot woman

Cons:

-No real way to make her kit anything other than "Black Panther but better/worse"

-Incredibly bloated kit, which they needed to add to differentiate her from BP

-(personal experience) before she was released, I did not see A SINGLE PERSON asking for her inclusion/making character concepts for her

-We got ANOTHER DUELIST...

-...over Kingpin, a character everyone and their mother wanted in the game, who could have been a super cool Vanguard

-(personal bias) just generally uninteresting character? Like, she's the bad girl to MJ's good girl. That's about it.

The Marvel Rivals devs just straight up do not read comics or source material and it pisses me off to no end

If I'm being honest, I don't think that the Marvel Rivals devs actually read comics or know pretty much anything about the source material they're meant to be pulling from. I would say they have adapted the simple characters pretty successfully - after all, Punisher is a guy with guns, and Captain America is a noble dude with a shield. Pretty hard to screw that up. The problem arises when you get to other characters.

Namor is a character who is incredibly durable and strong - he has beaten the red Hulk in a 1v1, and they turned him into the turret poke DPS. He's the king of the ocean, and only 1 of the abilities in his kit involves the use of water.

Moon Knight in Rivals is just straight up not Moon Knight. In the comics, he's a brawler defined by his nigh-suicidal agression. His main weapons are his cudgels and his bo staff. Hell, even in game, he has a voice line about how hard blood stains are to get out of his white costume - like, dude, you wouldn't know. You're hiding in the back line playing whackamole with magic totems.

Jean Grey, an OMEGA LEVEL TELEPATH, does not have any telepathy in her kit at all. That is absolutely ridiculous.

I have heard a lot of people argue in favor of Ultron's kit because he’s a manipulator, which is undeniably true, but Ultron is a manipulator BEFORE the fighting starts. Once shit starts going down, he is no longer hiding in the back, using others to his advantage - he's on the battlefield himself, usually using an army of robot bodies to fuck shit up, which is an aspect almost completely absent from his kit. The Ultron Virus is something he uses to weaken and corrupt his enemies, but they shoved him into the support box that he doesn't fit into, and now we have this.

I think one of the worst offenders, if not the worst offender just from the principle of the thing, is Deadpool. If you don't know much about Deadpool, his move set does make sense - manipulating game elements, throwing his character icon at people, yadda yadda. The problem is that in the comics, Deadpool is aware that he's in a comic, but he's incapable of manipulating pieces of the medium he's a part of, meaning HIS ENTIRE KIT IS BASED AROUND A POWER HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE! What's next, are we gonna give Colossus the powers of Magneto because he's made of metal? Deadpool is not capable of using text bubbles or the barriers between panels to his advantage. That's Gwenpool's bag.

I don't know much about Angela. But according to what little I've read, she is actually incapable of flight, because she only has one wing.

Just my feelings, I guess. I'm getting really tired of the devs ignoring lore accuracy in favor of game balance.

If we're talking about bad kit design, Ultron beats Phoenix any day

Why on earth they decided to make the omnicidal murder robot a healer is beyond me, but even ignoring that, his kit is absolutely NOTHING like Ultron. He can fly, has a laser, and that's about it. His drones, inarguably and objectively the biggest part of his skillset in his source material, show up for 12 seconds in his ult to aura farm and provide fire support and then they're gone. Ultron Virus? Nonexistent. It has almost always been an offensive tool used to corrupt and cripple his enemies, but it just isn't a part of his kit (and no, Imperative: Firewall doesn't count just because of a voice line. Actions speak louder than words.) His design in this game is absolutely egregious. The character fantasy isn't even dead in the water, it's chained to a cinderblock and being maimed by pirahnas.

Are Gellerpox Infected just...gone?

Am I still able to get the Gellerpox Infected team anywhere? They're not on GW's website, and they're not on Ebay for any reasonable price. They seem like a lot of fun, but I didn't get them while they were available because, quite frankly, I didn't think they would just dissapear.

Unknown needs some serious buffs or a full blown rework at this point

He literally just does everything a bunch of other killers do but worse. He has a worse version of Krasue's leech blast, and a worse version of Springtrap's doors or Dredge's locker teleport. If you miss one shot during chase, not only do you lose crazy distance because of the slowdown you get, but they're just able to cleanse the effect by looking at you, so if you don't play absolutely perfectly, you're better off not using your power at all. Every other infection killer has SOME type of benefit to their cleanse because it gives info or wastes survivors' time (Wesker & Nemesis' vaccines, Krasue's mushrooms, Vecna's clocks, etc.) It sucks, because his design is SO cool, to the point that none of his skins are as good as his base, and yet he just feels so awful to play as.

We all hate DPS instalockers, but who is your "Oh God, here we go" character/characters?

DPS instalockers are annoying. I want 1 game as Namor after spending 3 straight in tank/healer jail, and now I'm stuck as Rocket because some dickhead decided we needed a Moon Knight. But at least sometimes those DPS instalockers do well...unless they're Bucky or Magik. I do not remember the last time that someone on my team instalocked either of those characters and actually helped the team at all. This is a phenomenon that persists in both comp and qp. Do y'all have any particular characters like this, or is it just me?

Black Cat & Panther are the worst designed game characters I've ever seen

Good or not, the problem is that they're the only divers whose damage is tied to their mobility. When Iron Fist, Daredevil, and Spidey actually attack you, they slow down enormously, but still have crazy mobility to get in & out. Black Panther & Cat both have their damage options & escape tools on the same moves, which means their attacks are absurdly fast and you can't track them reliably at all. There is nothing fun about being forced to swap to Thing and babysit your backline because someone chose insta-kill: the character.

Ultron is designed so terribly and unfaithfully that I can't stand playing him.

Since his addition, I've held the opinion that Ultron is the worst-feeling/designed character in the game, not from a balance perspective, but from a faithfulness perspective. He can fly, has an encephalo-ray, and that's about it. His drones, arguably the biggest part of his comic skillset, show up for 12 seconds in his ult to aura farm and provide fire support and then they're gone. Why aren't they part of his kit? Ultron without his clones is like Cap without his shield or Winter Soldier without his metal arm. Where is the Ultron virus being used to cripple his enemies? Ultron's entire goal is the destruction of all biological life, making him a healer is the worst thing you can do. "BuT tHe LoRe-" if you have to MAKE UP new lore for your character to fit into the role you placed him in, congratulations, you've failed at adapting a character. We're making up lore now? Fine - Punisher is now a Buddhist, having renounced violence entirely. He's a strategist. Captain Amerixa is a cowardly, scheming usurper who hides in the backline and heals people. Loki is noble and upstanding, doling out righteous justice on the frontline as a Vanguard. See how this doesn't work? Someone please give me some kind of justification for him being a strategist, because none that I've seen so far make any sense. "He manipulates people!" Yeah, in like 10% of his comics. The rest are just him killing shit. Why would he ever want to heal his human teammates? He refers to them as "obsolescent fleshbags", for Christ's sake. Would you spend your time trying to teach a roach how to open a door? No, you'd just open the goddamn door yourself. That's how Ultron feels about humans. Why waste time on controlling flawed, emotional creatures when he can do things better on his own? And the worst part is, NOBODY ELSE SEEMS TO CARE! I'M THE ONLY ONE I'VE SEEN ANGRY OR CONFUSED ABOUT THIS! I feel like I'm losing my mind. Please tell me someone else here agrees with me on this...

Do you think Ultron should be reworked into a Duelist?

Since his addition, I've held the opinion that Ultron is the worst-feeling/designed character in the game, not from a balance perspective, but from a faithfulness perspective. I personally believe that he should be reworked into a Duelist, with Phoenix being moved to the Strategists to compensate (being the embodiment of life and all that), but what do you think?

[VOD REQUEST]] [PLATINUM 2] Am I doing something wrong on Rocket?

In-game name: Bungus_Enjoyer

Platform: PC

Code: 103548102642

I genuinely am not sure what I did wrong in this match, but it was clearly something, because a C&D that played only 1 match as healer almost doubled my healing over 2 rounds. What can I improve? Should I be healing more & shooting less?

[VOD REQUEST] [QP] My first serious Namor games

In Game Name: Bungus_Enjoyer

Platform: PC

Game Code(s): 10724285217, 10460784912, 10729985590, 10547198376 (This last one is comp in Plat 2, all others are QP. Only first 2 rounds are Namor gameplay.)

I'm trying to get into Namor, since he seems really fun, I want to improve my aim, and to be honest, I kinda like playing as egotistical douchebags lol. I definitely need to work on my turret placement and aim. so any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

When it comes to the 2 most prevalent divers I see (Spidey and BP), I can deal with Spidey fine. Just watch the skies, listen for his web shooters, etc. Easy peasy. But with Black Panther, I feel like I see him in the corner of my eye, turn around to peel, and he flash steps to the other side of my screen and back again (killing a support, sometimes two) faster than I can track. I know he isn't great right now, so it's probably a skill issue, especially since I play a lot of Mr. Fantastic. What should I do?
