DS2 has got the best soundtrack out of any game i have played
This is similar to something i posted in another discord community where I used the acronym DS2 to mention the game and everyone got confused with exactly which game I was talking about dark souls, dead space, devil summoner and what not....
But I felt like they just diverted the topic since I also clearly mentioned my favourite songs from the sound track like any love of any kind, minus sixty one... My question is when someone uses the DS acronym what's the first thing that comes to your mind it can also be anything other than games too.. are we allowed to even do that??
Bridge to Terabithia: stepping into a secret world that existed only as long as you believed.
Bridge to Terabithia got recommended to me by my friend and I am so glad he did. The only thing I didn't like about it was it's short runtime I wanted the movie to focus even more in their fantasy to Terabithia. Otherwise the movie is solid. A bit sad too. The movie's atmosphere heavily reminded me of Ghibli movies.
Usually I never watch anything my friends recommend but sometimes I think I should set aside my ego and just watch whatever they throw at me. I have never regretted anything they recommend.
RRR in Death stranding 2
Any of you here who discovered the Indian movie RRR from DS2???
Just curious to know.. did you just find that task boring and just want it to end quickly??( I mean where the director of the movie has a cameo with his son)
Drive my Car by Ryūsuke Hamaguchi
Recently watched this masterpiece. I haven't read the play by Anton Chekhov but this movie has made me curious. Should I read the play or watch it somewhere..?
Anyway coming back to the movie I really liked the parallel between the character kafuku and the character of uncle Vanya in the play. I haven't even read the play but I don't know if it was because of the direction of the movie.. i understood every part of it.
While the grief of kafuku was central to the story I really enjoyed the moments of quiet in the movie
I liked the parts where all the cast was working together in the rehearsasl
The relationship between the driver and the director felt like they were really a father and daughter.
I especially liked the parts when the director realises that his life was not the only one in shambles through the driver.
I haven't been engaged with a movie in so long.. T\_T
I will definitely read the play.. if I can find it.
Lastly I would like to praise the whole cast. Every performance lands.
Specially:
Lee Yoo-na played by Park Yu-rim. (Sonya from the play)
Misaki Watari played by Tōko Miura. (The driver)
Yūsuke Kafuku played by actor Hidetoshi Nishijima. (The director)
Bong Joon-ho films
If you have to rank every Bong Joon-Ho film which one would be at the tip of your list and which one will be at the bottom.
I loved parasite and obviously that's how I discovered hik but when I watched his Memories of murder I realised that this guy wasn't your one hit wonder. I mean who gets the idea to make a film on a real crime which still hadn't been solved by the time the movie came out... crazy..
And his worst film for me has to be Okja which is still a solid movie btw...
RAN by Akira kurosawa
Is my favourite film from the director. It's one of the films which I keep visiting from time to time. It's such a simple story yet it's a mixture of so many genres like :
Historical epic: 16th century feudal Japan, with grand-scale battles and castles.
Jidaigeki: A classic Japanese period drama centered on warlords and samurai culture.
Tragedy: A deeply tragic story about family betrayal, pride, madness, and the collapse of power.
War drama: Large, visually stunning battle sequences.
And also the colour design of this film is the best I have ever seen.
I just love it and I will never get bored of watching this film no matter how many more times I see it.
Please share your favourite works from the director too I would love to read what you guys have to say about his filmography.
See I had the option to just post a nice image from the movie but I decided to use this drawing made by me just to show that see I like this movie so much that I een drew the main character Hidetora played by the legendary actor Tatsuya Nakadai.
RIP..
Tom Cruise made me watch Kokuho..
watched this one because fucking Tom Cruise was promoting it. I figured there had to be something solid in the story, and yeah, there absolutely was.
The story is great — come on, son of a yakuza boss turned Kabuki performer. It feels very artsy at first, but once you settle in you realise it’s really a character-driven life drama, and that makes it even better. We follow the character from his teens into adulthood through hardship, loss, revenge, pain, rivalry, love, and everything in between.
When the Kabuki sequences arrive, even if you don’t know shit about the stories they’re performing or the traditions behind them, you can still completely enjoy them. The director worked in close collaboration with actual Kabuki performers, and the actors trained for months (including learning to perform as onnagata) before shooting.
I’m probably saying a bunch of stuff that won’t fully land until you see it, so just watch the movie and dig a little into Kabuki afterwards. Trust me you’ll enjoy the process.
I know it has been a while since this movie came out but I just felt like recommending it. Strangely I don't see much people talking about this.
ASOIAF new paperback editions
Guys please just help me with this. Should I read the current books in the ASOIAF franchise or not? Like I already know they are going to be fantastic. I have already read the first book and the whole live action series by HBO except the last season.
I wanted to know after having read all the current books I would also become one of the millions of readers desparately waiting for the new books?I really don't want that. But these paperbacks look too good.
I started watching Great Teacher Onizuka(2012) series
I wanted to know if I should even be watching the live action show or go for the anime version. I have watched 3 episodes of the live action series by now and I am not really hooked yet
The Strength of the few took took my strength away
It was so hard to read! The first book was so engaging that I completed it within a week but the second book took me more than 2 months!! The main reason for this were Obiteum and Luceum. Maybe The Hierarchy is not for beginners.. wish I knew T_T
The first book is so so good though..
