what animals would the characters be?

im vaguely entertaining the idea of drawing the cast as anthropomorphic animals but id need to decide who everyone is first, ive got down langdon as some sort of dog, mohan as a deer, whitaker as a particularly wet cat and dana as an owl (because the mental image of her head doing a full 180 to give you a stern look was really funny)

im open to other suggestions for these guys though and very very open to suggestions for other characters, im trying to avoid too many cats and dogs but equally i dont want a bunch of super obscure animals that might be weird to draw lol. any suggestions are appreciated!!

Watching the behind the scenes of this show is so stressful

If I ever committed to being an actor, I could NEVER work on a show like this. It’s so technical and specific and looks extremely intense. On top of that, they don’t let you have scripts on set to hide around in case you need it, and that is a LOT of medical jargon. I’d be overwhelmed before I’d even started.

I want Santos to grow

I’m working my way through season 2 and Santos seems to have not grown as a person at all in the last 10 months. I don’t mind that she’s still mad at Langdon. She has every right to be. It’s insane that she’s forced to work in the same hospital with the guy she busted for drugs, let alone getting assigned to work under him with patients. But she just made her feelings about the situation clear to Whitaker and “I don’t like him because he was an asshole to me” just seems so petty that it’s not interesting to watch.

What I want from Santos is for her to grapple with the fact that she’s committed her share of ER crimes as well. On her FIRST DAY she threatened that incestuous pedophile then told him directly that his wife and daughter snitched him out. She very well could’ve gotten those two killed. And frankly, for her story, I wish that she did. She needs something that’s going to give her a dose of humility. Not so she can get over Langdon, but so she can understand that she’s not the moral bastion of the world.

Tightening forestay

So I have a boat from the early 80’s and most of the rigging is original. The forestay is a bit weird, instead of a turnbuckle eye, the turnbuckle screw is spliced right into the wire.

For the shrouds and backstay I run a screwdriver through the upper eye to hold it steady while I tighten, but obviously not an option here. I’ve always used a vice grip to hold the wire, but I’m wondering if anyone else has tips to make that process easier? The vice grip slips a bit as tension increases and it’s a bit frustrating.

Promposal ideas?

Hi everyone!

I haven't ever watched The Pitt, but this girl who I've been going out with for a few months LOVES that show. We're planning on binging it together one of these days, but as of right now, I know nothing about the show. I wanna make her a Pitt themed promposal

Do you guys have any promposal ideas based on lines or scenes from the show? Thanks you guys!

Where is this show set?

Hey guys I’m a new fan and I’ve been trying to figure out where the show is set? Since we only ever see the inside of the hospital it’s hard to tell.

I know it’s not set in Canada because nobody speaks French. It’s not in Aspen either because they never treat any skiing injuries.

There’s three Philippino characters but I don’t think it’s set in the Philippines since they don’t celebrate the 4th of July afaik (fourth of July is mentioned briefly in season 2).

It could be California but that doesn’t explain Dana’s weird accent, which like… maybe Missouri? But there wouldn’t be that many LGBT characters then I think? Or at least not overtly so.

Whittaker is from Nebraska but Santos makes such a big deal about it that I don’t think it’s set in Nebraska, just nearby since there’s a farm girl with a truck.

Any thoughts?

WATCH: 'The Pitt,' 'ER' star Noah Wyle rallies for healthcare workers

Noah speaking at today's "Healthcare is Human" rally in DC! Some highlights from his remarks:

“I want to be super clear about who is talking to you right now. I am not a doctor. I am not a nurse. I am not a member, in any way, of the healthcare workforce that I love so dearly. I am an actor. I’m the son of a nurse who spent 50 years caring for other people, and I’ve spent decades trying to do justice to what she and the rest of you actually do. That is the only credential I am claiming today.”

“The Pitt is what happened when a bunch of us got obsessed with one question: ‘What does the job actually look like right now?’ And to answer that question honestly, we listened. We listened to emergency physicians, we listened to the charge nurses, we listened to residents asked to function on 3 hours of sleep after working 18 hour shifts and then being asked to head right back in. We listened to social workers, to techs, to attendings, to chaplains. And we did not have to go very far. The reality was right there; you are all living it every day.”

“This is not a luxury. If healthcare professionals aren’t paid fairly, they leave the profession, and patients get sick and die, full stop.”

“To every healthcare professional here, and every healthcare professional watching: I know you do not need another speech about how important you are. You need backup. And this isn’t about politics. Cancer is not partisan. A stroke is not partisan. A kid with a fever in the middle of the night is not partisan. The healthcare professional who shows up for that patient should not have to beg for basic support from a system that they hold together.”

My new fic is called "Polycephalous Hearts" by lizzy_mcalpine_stan, and the first chapter is about Whitaker remembering his first memory: the night his father delivered a two-headed calf. Recalling this night forces Dennis to come to terms with what his parents have put him through and makes him think he may be stuck on his childhood farm forever. You should go read it!
