Why is Chimelong not talked about much on here?

Firstly, I do not agree with the wild capture of cetaceans, nor their captivate breeding and exploitation for shows, and la-dee-da-dee-da, this is purely from a perspective of park design, animal habitat theming/design, and animal collection.

Chimelong is a Chinese theme park and entertainment group, with lots of their parks having an animal focus. As of July 2026, this includes:

- Chimelong Ocean Kingdom (Zhuhai)

- Chimelong Spaceship Kingdom (Zhuhai)

- Chimelong Birds Park (Guangzhou)

- Chimelong Safari Park (Guangzhou)

-Chimelong Forest Kingdom (Qingyuan)

Each is absolutely mega in terms of size, animal roster, and design. Ocean Kingdom in itself is the world’s largest aquariu, holding whale sharks, manta rays, manatees, walrus, seals, polar bears, grizzly/brown bears, arctic canids, penguins and various species of dolphins, tropical birds, and smaller touchpools throughout. Not to mention, the small (in comparison to other zoos) plot of land also holds these animals with a mountain in the shape of a walrus, more polar-themed mountains, a huge screen tunnel, and some of Asia’s best roller coasters and themed rides.

Chimelong Spaceship Kingdom broke records again, with its massive orca tank, the world’s largest wave pool, holding 15 wild-caught orcas. As mentioned earlier, I do not agree with this, but one could argue they have better space management than any of the SeaWorld parks’ orca tanks. See link [1] for size in comparison to SeaWorld. It also has numerous species of seabirds, dolphins, sharks, manatees, and has a purely insane amount of smaller tanks with more obscure fish. The park itself is the world’s largest indoor theme park, and is known for its spaceship theming and spectacular looks at night!

Chimelong Safari Park and Chimelong Birds Park are a lot more obscure. They are harder for tourists to visi, so not much is known about exact details. Safari Park holds lots of typical species, like elephants, giraffe, zebra, antelope, lions and tigers and their white colour morphs, koalas, wolves, lynx, and china’s special giant pandas. Birds Park is the same in levels of obscurity, but supposedly holds 300+ rare species and 10,000+ individual birds.

Chimelong Forest Kingdom is a copy and paste of Chimelong Safari Park, with added entertainment such as bird shows, bear behaviour shows, safari shows, and rides like their giant lion king ferris wheel and giraffe drop tower thingies.

The SCP Foundation is a cover up of the SCP Foundation, BUT…

The SCP Foundation is a cover up of the SCP Foundation, with proof being that the global financial crises with “cost of living” and all of that, is because a new SCP has been discovered, and governments are having to put extra funding into the foundation. Hence the money that isn’t being spent on public services.

Best hotels + best way to travel from airport to city centre?

Hello, I am a Brit thinking about travel plans and am considering Mauritania (Nouakchott) to see some local culture, traditions and history.

Firstly, does anybody have any hotel recommendation? Ideally lower budget but I don’t mind paying a bit more for comfort. Ideally in the city centre or on the coast.

Secondly, what is the best way to travel from the airport to city centre? I am aware that quality of cars in Mauritania is questionable, and am definitely not wanting to drive myself if I don’t have to. Does Uber (or similar lift-sharing service) exist in Nouakchott? If not, are there any buses or charter taxis or anything?

Thank you for the advice!

What shark species are you all wanting?

Aside from the confirmed blacktip reef shark and hammerhead shark.

I am hoping for Nurse sharks and whale sharks 🦈

Unpopular opinion, you shouldn’t be able to go on BGT if you are already making money from your talent.

For example, this series’ Celestial is already a successful company, on their own website stating “We have worked with some of the biggest names in the business. From Nike to Oasis, Disney, Samsung, Porsche, Eurovision, and Glastonbury, to name a few.” To me, it just feels like that would be money going to a big corporation that has already made it, rather than to somebody who has a day job and has their talent as a hobby passion instead of their work. The same with when background singers come and perform as acts, as they have already been somewhat accredited and earn money from the talent. Does anybody else agree?

Can the name Wes be used for a girl?

I have heard of the name before for girls, but I don’t know if it is common or rare or anything. Short for Wesley

Fuck the negetivity of modern society, say something sbout your country you are proud to call yours!

For me, as a Brit, I find it nice how foreigners feel very welcomed in this country, and how we have a warming community/pub culture in small towns, like where I grew up!

I am still really on edge with wether to proceed with actually thinking about moving to the US, but need location advice please.

To settle the people who I see comment on every post asking about HOW, I am a dual national, currently living in the UK.

I have considered moving to the US a few times over the last few years, but I am really stuck still. I can stay working from home, health insurance would be covered by the company I work for, etc.

But what has really been nagging on my mind is locatio. I really just want to disconnect from the world, but I also need some connection to the UK so I can visit family when I need to. So away from hustle and bustle (which makes it cheaper a bit tok I think) but at most a 2-3 hour drive to the nearest airport that has links to the UK. From my findings, I think somewhere 2-3 hours outside Denver, Los Angeles, Dallas or San Diego fits. But I really want recommendations from you!
