Topical minoxidil while having Hirsutism? I bought topical minoxidil for my thinning edges but I also don’t want to turn into Wolverine

I have PCOS & bought topical minoxidil for my thinning edges, but then I read a lot of posts where people used topical minoxidil, men as well, & it literally turned them into a Wolverine everywhere even thick dark hairs under the eyes etc…

Im curious for those with pcos & facial hair, that tried topical minoxidil foam (not the serum), did it make ur facial hair worse??

Im current getting electrolysis for my facial hair & it’s going well. Im also taking tirzepatide currently to balance my hormones for context.

Is Korean facewash worth the hype? Should I switch from cerave hydrating cream to foam cleanser?

Thinking about switching to roundlab dokdo cleaner. I’m switching to a Korean moisturizer as well, which I can tell from ingredients is better than the moisturizer I use now, but I’m on the fence about switching my face wash.

Cerave hydrating cream to foam cleanser seems to been doing my face well since I started using it a year ago, BUT it doesn’t help with clogged pores & blackheads.

Curious for the people that made the switch from Cerave to a Korean cleanser, what was your reasoning & how do you like it?

2009 Nissan Altima stall?

I was looking for a second car & was going to buy a 2009 Nissan Altima with 137k miles for a good price off of someone, all around solid car, no rust underneath, smooth drive etc.. & I made sure when I did a 10 minute test drive that I was rough on the gas & car to check for any transmission slipping bc of Nissans notorious CVTs.. I did notice when I was on highway & hit the gas hard to speed up fast, the RPMs would jump up to 3000 RPM (my current 09 Nissan Altima stays at 2000 RPM when doing the same thing), & also the emergency brake is noticeable more tight than my current Altima, & when shifting from drive to park it’s slightly tighter than my car, but not super super noticeable that would make me be concerned at that point.

Anyways, I noticed those issues but I didn’t notice any jerking when increasing speed, no jerking when shifting gears etc & the car drove very smooth with barely any noise, smoother than my current car so I assumed it was good to go.

After buying the car, 10 minutes into driving, I went to hit the gas at a red light & the car just completely stopped working?? It didn’t turn off, but it went into extreme limp mode, was gliding at about 5 mph max & no RPM engagement when pressing the gas or nothing (that I remember) for about 10-20 seconds then started working again without issue?

It was later in evening, no mechanics open & my mind jumped to worse case scenario that it’s going to need a new trans so I immediately sold the car back to the seller as they were good ppl & let me do so.

The sellers say they were selling for their mom but never noticed that on their 2 hour drive back from where their mom lives.. the car also JUST passed inspection with minor repairs needed a couple days before buying.. finally today the seller says they finally noticed the stall on a hill & said they’re going to take it to their mechanic to see what the issue is.

I’m curious now if it could be something minor or likely the transmission? Or would a simple transmission drain & fill fix an issue like that etc? It’s a solid car & I really liked it otherwise so I’m upset it has that issue & now we’re both wondering what it is

NO check engine light, no dashboard lights etc

My current 09 Nissan Altima has been very good to me for 3 years & a lot of driving, which is why I wasn’t concerned & was interested in buying another Altima.

Is blend gentler on upper lip? I really want to try galvanic on upper lip as well but it’s hard to find galvanic provider.

I have been getting electrolysis for over a year, but the techs I was going to only do thermolysis. My hairs on my face release well with thermolysis everywhere EXCEPT the upper lip & under lip.

My upper lip especially hates thermolysis & reacts with marks & mild pitting (that does resolve for the most part, but I don’t want to continuously take that risk) even for the hairs that don’t require high levels of heat. Because of that, I stopped getting thermolysis on the upper lip.

Tria 4x at home Laser erased most of my upper lip hair before starting electrolysis, except along the lip line & the middle part of my lip (I zapped those areas with the laser the least bc those areas hurt the most), & I’ve been thinking to maybe finish with laser on the upper lip since my upper lip reacts so aggressively to thermolysis, but I do worry I’ll cause paradoxical growth in surrounding areas … or I was wondering if maybe I did blend or pure galvanic on the upper lip, if maybe it’ll react less intense to treatments? I of course want the hairs gone, but I do NOT want to replace the hairs with pit marks & scarring so I’ve been so scared to try the other modalities on my upper lip for that reason after seeing how bad my lip was reacting to thermolysis.

Is Electrolysis (Thermolysis method) actually permanent?

So 99% of electrologists only do thermolysis now claiming it’s the “fastest” & that’s why. Electrologists also claim throughout this form that thermolysis is permanent, but where is the proof? When the FDA approved electrolysis as permanent hair removal, it was approved for GALVANIC. Thermolysis is not true electrolysis, but electrologists disguise it as electrolysis to avoid being questioned.

I find it interesting that I’ve looking thru all of these posts for months & I have found only maybe a handful of people that said they finished electrolysis on their face & don’t have to keep up with sessions? Everybody else is “still getting sessions but it’s improving”, but since thermolysis is so permanent can anyone point my towards any thermolysis clients that actually finished treatments on their face & don’t have to continuously go back?

Can I jump straight to 0.1% or at least 0.05%?

I found a website to buy tret from & I have some forehead lines that aren’t super deep, but noticeable to me at least & I want to reverse them before they get worse.

I’ve seen at least 10-15 people on this sub say that they saw no difference in forehead lines until increasing to 0.1%, so I really want to start off with 0.1% & was just going to order 2-3 bottles of 0.1% but nervous that it’ll be too much for my skin to start out with.

Or how long should I stay on a lower percentage to allow my skin to adjust before jumping to 0.1%? I’ve used retinol off & on throughout the years by the way so my skin is used to actives.

Name brand zep vs compound for hormone balance & insulin resistance?

I have been on compound tirzepatide thru Hallandale Pharmacy for a couple weeks, & up to 5 mg for second month. Had a couple day natural period 3-4 weeks in on just 2.5 mg, & haven’t had a natural period in 2 years prior, & Ovasitol that I tried before tirz didn’t work at all.. I also lost at least 10 pounds so far.

In addition, on 5 mg my appetites suppression is so strong it’s starting to worry me lol I’ve barely eaten more than a couple bites of food per day for a week now. I just went thru the forms & I noticed people saying compound isn’t as strong as name brand, but I’m wondering if it depends on which pharmacy you choose? Hallandale seems to be very efficient & effective for me so far.

Im also curious now if longterm, compound has been effective in keeping hormones balance & putting insulin resistance into remission for people? My main goal was putting my PCOS symptoms into remission, but the weight loss is a nice bonus. I’ve spoken to a couple people but want to see what more people’s thoughts & opinions are

Tri Fracture + Dislocation - Healing slowly..?

I had a tri fracture & dislocation Feb 13th. Fractured the front, side & back of my ankle. External Fix surgery Feb 14th & plates, screws & tight rope Feb 17th.

Soft cast 2 weeks, then boot for 6 weeks. At 8 weeks post op, doctor wanted me walking by 12 weeks post op FWB without crutches.. he didn’t even offer an ankle brace at first, I just recently had to request to be given an ankle brace bc I’m having a hard time FWB & nowhere near able to yet.. I can “walk” with crutches holding up 95% of my weight.

I took my first very slow steps FWB without crutches at PT today, & was so excited, but that was short lived as the pain & swelling from those couple steps took over & I was back to major limping & abnormal walking without crutches support. As I type this, I am still feeling the aftermath of those couple steps earlier.

I’m starting to get nervous about my healing process & I just want to be walking & back to normal already.. I’m only 28, so I’m concerned at how slow I’m healing compared to other people’s stories.

For those with similar injuries farther along in their healing journey, I’d love to hear where ur at in ur healing journey now & how it’s going for you.
