What’s your best quiet confidence strategy?
Not a midlife crisis post, but since hitting 40, what actually shifted for you around this age?
For me, the biggest thing has been intentionality. Over the past year or so I’ve become way more deliberate about pretty much everything, like what I buy, how I spend my time, who I keep in my life. Like I’m a lot less willing to waste energy on things or people that don’t actually matter to me.
Anyone else go through something like this? Or was your shift around 40 something completely different?
Those of us who fly not so frequently on loung-haul routes, say 1-3 times a year, sometimes live in a fantasy world where we think we will get enough miles and points to get an upgrade or a decent benefit.
I have been loyal to Qatar for many years, but since I do not fly long haul more than a couple of times per year, benefits are minimal if at all existent. I was also disappointed that my recent flight with Cathay did not ear points with Qatar.
At this point, I wanted to give Etihad a go. I know I will not be able to upgrade to a high tier with my limited flights per year, but I wanted to ask if, overall, you find Etihad to be a better flying experience compared to Qatar. Flying experience means airport experience, points, trasnfer, cabin, etc.
Thanks!
I’m looking for a high quality personal item and I’m considering the Travel Pro Platinum Elite UnderSeat Tote. Do you own it or have you used it? I really like the looks and aesthetic and I use a TravelPro roller board, so I think it’s a good addition to it.
My concern is dimensions and whether some airlines will say it’s too big to be considered a personal item..
Thanks!
Have you recently flown Etihad to or from Phnom Penh recently? I’m considering flying them soon and just want to know if their flights get delayed or cancelled often since the conflict in the Middle East erupted. Also, how full was the flight? I noticed that the B787 replaced the A321 serving Phnom Penh.
Any experiences worth sharing?
Anyone using the Travel Pro Maxlite 5 International Expandable Cabin Rollaboard 55cm (55 x 40 x 20 cm)?
I fly Asian, European, and Middle Eastern airlines and I see that strictly speaking, it over the dimension limits, especially in with.
What are your experiences using it?
For the last 9 years I have been using an Eastpak Tranverz S as my cabine luggage. I must admit I love this bag. It fits a lot, soft shell means I can overpack slightly, and the wheels are incredibly sturdy and quiet.
But I feel it is now time for an upgrade and I wanted to ask if some of you have had a similar dilemma:
On the one hand, I would be happy to purchase another Eastpak, probably an upgrade such as the Transit'r S. What makes me want to go Eastpak again is the versatility of the suitcase, wheels, and light weight.
On the other hand, I would also like to try go hardsheel and get a Monos. It looks sleek, it keeps stuff inside better protected (in theory), and 4 wheels in airpots and hotels seems like the way to go.
Have you gone from a 2 wheels piece of luggage to a spinner, or vice versa? Do you regret it?

Hello! I have some clothes I am not wearing anymore (they are in good condition) and would like to find an organisation or similar in Phnom Penh to donate them.
Ideally, somewhere not too far from the city centre. Any recommendations?
