Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles or Yakuza Kiwami 3?

They're both on sale for around the same price & I was curious what the consensus is for these titles.

I love FF, & I'm a big fan of RTS games like XCOM, so I'm hoping Tactics can maybe scratch that itch. I don't know a lot about it though & I never played the original.

I've 100%'d every RGG game & adore the entire franchise of Yakuza/Like a Dragon but I've heard Kiwami 3 had a mixed reception at launch.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Is the Animated Series a good primer for someone who is new to X-Men?

My knowledge of X-Men is extremely surface-level. I pretty much only know Wolverine from the movies, & I would like to dive into the deeper lore of it all.

I know that I could just start reading the comics, & I will eventually, but the Animated Series and X-Men '97 look really cool to me. I'm wondering if they'll serve as a good introductory guide to most characters & plot lines for someone who has no idea what the hell is going on.

In general, I have extreme superhero fatigue. I'm really burnt out on Disney's Marvel, but for some reason, the animation intrigues me from the small snippets I've seen. It reminds me of Batman TAS which I absolutely adore.

Thanks for any replies!

Any idea when pre-orders could go live for Revelation?

I'm not super knowledgeable about how game development works, so I was curious about what you guys think. Should we expect any delays or is the game far enough along to where it's going to release without issue?

I just bought SF6, & all of the DLC because of Tifa. I'm new to fighting games & have some questions.

I'm a massive FF7 fan and have been all of my life. The problem is, in terms of fighting games, I've only ever seriously played Mortal Kombat which from my understanding is a lot more casual in the viewpoint of the FGC.

I'm downloading SF right now & some of my friends suggest using the modern control scheme, others suggest classic - I honestly have no idea which one to use & was looking for some advice from experts. I'd like to get really good, even though I'll be using a PS5 controller - I don't have a stick. I'm not sure if that's going to limit my ability to master the game or not.

I've always avoided the animated TV series/movies for Batman since I assumed they were aimed towards children. TAS made me realize that was a mistake.

I've been a Batman fan my entire life. I've read almost all of the comics & graphic novels, seen every live-action film, but yet I never bothered to try any of the animation, no matter how popular it was, due to a lack of interest & the incorrect preconceived notion that it was a watered down version of what I was already getting in other media.

My girlfriend is a die-hard fan of TAS & I watched a few episodes with her on a whim, & I was captivated. Stunning art direction, music, & writing. I absolutely loved it & had a total blast with the episodes that I watched.

My question to you guys is, what other animated Batman movies or shows have I missed out on? I'm gonna fully watch all of TAS, but where do you recommend that I go after that? There's a ton to sift through & I'm sure some are probably better than others, so I thought I'd come here to see what you guys' favorites are.

Thanks!

I don't usually play games like this, but my girlfriend begged me to try it & now I'm addicted.

I've been looking for a game to play this summer while I wait for GTA 6, & my girl kept insisting that I try Coral Island. As soon as I heard farming sim, I glazed over - those are not my thing at all. I gave in though & decided to give it a try.

As soon as I boot it up, I'm in love with the colors & the vibe, but skeptical. An hour or two passes & I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm not bored out of my skull yet. I've planted some crops, met some NPC's, & cleaned up some of my farm. I'm pretty impressed with the layout of the town & how each NPC has their own vibe.

Fast forward 25 hours later, I'm halfway through the summer season for the first time, & I'm trying to catch every fish, every bug, plant every crop, & max out every villager. This game is an RPG in disguise & it got its hooks into me fast. There's just so much to do. It seems like every 10 minutes there's a new item or system introduced. I feel overwhelmed in the best way possible.

I just had to make a quick post with my rambling incoherent thoughts as a way to shout out the dev team. I don't know the size of the studio that worked on this game, but you can feel the passion in every aspect of it. I absolutely adore it.

I also really like how the game let's you do whatever you want in whichever order for the most part. It truly feels like you have agency & can just do whichever activities you feel like doing for the day - you're always making progress towards something & the game doesn't funnel you into any particular area. It's tremendous & refreshing.

Anyway, if you guys have any beginner tips, or advice, I'd appreciate it!

I've never played a farming sim before, is Coral Island a good entry point into the genre?

I'm looking for a game with a ton of customization & depth - something with a summer vibe & grind-heavy. I looked up some impressions for Coral Island on YouTube but a lot of the videos are quite old & from what I understand the game is still receiving content updates, so I thought it best to just come here & ask the community about the state of the game, or if they'd recommend it to a beginner in this genre. I normally play JRPGs & competitive online shooters, so it's somewhat outside of my wheelhouse.

Thanks for any replies!

Bro, I'm a full-grown adult with bills to pay, & I'm getting choked up over an MMO about dragons. I just defeated Nidhogg, & removed the eyes from Estinien's armor. Seeing Ysayle & Haurchefant appear to help, along with the music just about had me reaching for the tissues. This shit is so peak. 😭👍

I enjoyed ARR when I was playing through it initially, but this expansion is on another level. I've been going through the game with my GF who's already completed everything, & she's just been watching for my reactions the entire time. Heavensward has been the first moment where I've genuinely been on the edge of my seat with almost every scene.

I was bummed out at the end of ARR when the Scions got separated, but the supporting cast of characters introduced here have become my favorite. I love how they've expanded on Tataru (if anything happens to her, I will throw my keyboard into the street) & how they're tying the remaining ARR plot threads up slowly over time. It all feels so cohesive. I absolutely cannot wait for Stormblood. 🫡

Anyway, I just had to come on here & share that. As a new player, I've been enjoying periodically giving you guys my updated thoughts/opinions! 10/10 would cry again.
