Saw someone waving an Israeli flag during a perahera in the South, and I genuinely don’t understand it. What’s the point? Why that flag specifically and not, say, a Romanian, Japanese, or any other foreign flag?

Maybe some people worked in Israel, which would make some sense, but Sri Lankans have worked in many countries. So why does the Israeli flag show up in places like a perahera?

Is it because there are many Israeli tourists and businesses in parts of the South? Do some locals see it as something prestigious? I’m honestly asking because I’m curious what the thinking is behind it.

I recently saw claims that Australian universities pay education agents 11–17% of a student's first-year tuition, sometimes AUD 5k–10k per student.

Is that actually true?

How hard is it for a Sri Lankan agency to partner directly with Australian universities? What's the catch? It almost sounds too good to be true.
