(Update) Ladder?

Because I know this was so fun the first time, here’s a follow-up

I didn’t do anything, let kids be kids as half of you said, and have made new observations.

  1. The top rung indeed sucked, as it is gone completely.

  2. There are 4 large nails or stakes that have been driven into the tree.

  3. They have been pulled out and driven back in, multiple areas. This invites rot into the tree, much more than the small screws from the first post.

I’m sure this is not the end— maybe I’ll Martin Luther my dissertation to the tree next

Ladder?

For context, this a tree by the baseball field of our neighborhood elementary school. Months ago, some kids ripped off part of the dugout bench and it’s sat on the ground until maybe last week

Yesterday, I’m walking my dog as usual, and notice the bench splinter is gone and these “rungs” are screwed into the tree. There are telltale signs that this is the bench splinter that someone has sawed into pieces to affix to the tree

It’s just so stupid. The top rung isn’t even screwed in all the way and spins freely. The bottom rung is too far away from the others to be useful. The left rung has been shorn, leaving the grip on the right side with not enough material and potential for splintering from usage. I could go on lol

What dad did this and why?

Am I supposed to see light coming through the apex of my roof?

I’m trying to solve some AC inefficiencies in our house, and there’s a lot involved, such as old windows with bad insulation, but I’m not trying to rip holes in our house during the 100F+ heatwave in the south

I think a big issue is proper venting and insulation in our attic (it’s blown-in) causing really high ambient temperatures that our AC system cannot reduce effectively. While I was taking a peek around the other day, I noticed all this light coming through the roof

I admittedly don’t know shit about fuck, but is this normal?

Curtis McRae, Democratic candidate for hotly contested NC House race in HD32, drops out of campaign due to health concerns

The district covers all of Granville and most of Vance counties, and was narrowly flipped blue in 2024 by 228 votes.

Just last month, the overlapping State Senate District 18 saw incumbent Senator Terence Everitt drop out, citing his role with NC Voter Protection Alliance as a more paramount concern than running for reelection in the Republican supermajority Senate. Haseeb Fatmi of the Wake Forest Town Commission was just sworn in as the Senator for the district and is running to maintain the seat.

HD32 has been heavily gerrymandered these past 6 years, and Democrats have struggled to mount a commanding presence, particularly in the more red-leaning Granville County.

A clear frontrunner for the seat is yet to be apparent, but executive committees from Granville and Vance Counties will conference to select a replacement candidate
