Wearing glasses
Is it ok to wear glasses with the PSVR? I’ve heard conflicting things

Ok I know I should add half the value of a headwind to my approach speed in the 737. But what do I do when there’s a crosswind? Or tailwind?
On the Ps5, I don’t get V1 call outs for the 737. All TO data is entered in the FMC so it’s not that. Is there a setting somewhere?
Just been watching A330driver on YouTube. He did a flight to Dublin in which he flies the majority manually. When it comes to the LOC and GS, he mentions that he’s I intercepted them but doesn’t have AP on. Am I right in saying that if you have an ILS approach configured and fly manually, it’s simply a case of using your magenta diamonds to ensure you manually intercept them? Also he sets his approach speed as indicated on the FMC but doesn’t arm auto throttle. Why would he do this? EDIT I understand why he’s flying manually, the ‘why would he do this’ is just referring to the auto throttle. Why would he set the speed and then not engage auto throttle?
I know I’ve asked around this before but I’m still getting confused about my approach and landing speeds in the 737. Firstly, on the FMC under approach I assume the speed given is my approach speed (eg flaps 30 130 knots). Is this taking into account the wind? If not do I need to do something to make it take that into account if that makes sense? It also seems to give a strangely low speed. Typically I disconnect Auto Throttle at 1000ft when I disengage AP so really want to know what I should be aiming for. Thanks sorry for all the questions!
I don’t seem to be able to access the Beta version of Microsoft Flight sim when I select it on ps5. What am I missing?
I pretty much always use VNAV when flying the 737 but recently been watching some IRL vids where they’ve used v/s mode instead. What factors would mean choosing one over the other or is it just a case of airline SOP?
I’ve been using the psvr2 with Microsoft flight sim and usually use the standard ps5 controller and a mouse. Just because that’s what I’m use to. However, recently and randomly there are times when the controller just doesn’t work for example, selecting menu items. Anyone have isn’t ideas on this?
Is it possible to pause my game and remove the headset without it losing the play area? Was on flight sim earlier and about 20 miles out of Paris from Stansted. I paused then it lost the play area and basically when I resumed, my Airbus was completely shutdown in midair.
I’m a newbie and sorry if this has been asked and explained a million times but is there advice for helping to prevent drift? (Headset drift not controller drift) thanks
Decided to give the PSVR a go. I know nothing about VR, control wise will I be able to grab hold of the yoke etc?
I’ve been using simbrief to create flight plans for the A320 and there will typically be no manual or vectors etc. then I enter exactly the same plan with same STAR and approach on ms flight planner so I can use it with the 737 and it nearly always puts a ‘manual’ in. That’s fine but does anyone know why?
I’m a bit confused I’ve just started in the 787 and used 2 different YouTube videos to help configure it. One of them used the little EFB tablet kind of next to the captains left knee and the other didn’t at all. What’s the deal with that tablet?
Due to being 43 and missing the boat on the dream career of being an actual commercial pilot, I am happy to accept that the simming world is for me. When I was 12 I loved flight sim for windows 95 but have only just got back into it now 2024 is on the Ps5.
Basically I’m looking for any advice on how I can immerse myself more in this fantastic hobby which let’s face it will require me to invest in a decent PC pretty soon! Thanks all
Ok I’m fairly happy with my landings on a nice still day in the 737 or A320 but add even the smallest Gnat’s fart of a breeze and I’m dreadful! Has anyone got any tips for getting better at dealing with winds on approach or is it simply practice more
Could someone talk me through the easiest way to set up a repeated ILS practice? Eg what to enter in the MCDU etc? Any advice would be great. Ideally flying the 737
By no means to I claim to be good at this, however prior to su5 I didn’t have anywhere near as many issues as I am now. Here, the LNAV disconnects and as always happens with the 737 now, I end up on a low approach well below the glide path. If someone can help me understand which parts here are my error and if there are any that are caused by the sim, that would help massively.
On the ps5 and the Asobo 737 is causing me more problems than before su5. Always seem to be below the glide slope with an ILS approach; so I’ll disengage AP and then add a bit of lift but of course then lose too much airspeed so I’ll disconnect auto thrust and I’ll end up far too fast on approach! Please help!
