I tried ovals for the first time and I’m hooked, any tips?

I’m from Europe and I don’t know anything about oval racing but I think I’m pretty good? I got a podium on my second race in street stock. Any tips on how to drive ovals properly? Lines etiquette common knowledge good videos to watch?

Follow up: I did the hot weather track day in Monza with the stock golf gti and ebc yellowstuff

The car was fine, I was fine and had a blast. I did short 3 laps stints with 1 cooldown lap and 10-15 minutes stop with a longer one for refuel. Total about 25 laps with a new PB of 2.36 (I’m kinda slow I know).

Only issue with the brakes was I had bad vibrations in the hardest braking zones at the start that gradually went away towards the end of the day. I think it was some pad material on the rotors since the bedding procedure was so hard to do on public roads I probably didn’t reach the required temperatures to properly bed them in and it kinda happened on track. The car did stop fine anyway with zero pedal fade.

Highest oil temp was 120c, weather was actually pretty good since we had a storm the night before so it reached 30c only at about 1pm when my turn ended.

Best lap video coming soon!

What’s the hottest weather you would track your car?

I have a trackday planned in a couple weeks at Monza and I’m thinking about whether should I skip it cause it’s probably going to be like 35 degrees (C). It’s an open pitlane event so I can do very short stints go out cooldown the car and all that.

What are your thoughts and experiences with this kind of weather?

EDIT forgot to mention humidity in the morning when I arrive will be around 70% dropping around 50% as the day goes on
