Not of hate and death and war (shoutout guy I stole that joke from). But basically I wrote this poem HEAVILY inspired by Driftwood. And I was wondering if it would be cool if I posted it here as a bit of a tribute. Just making sure before I do

Similar to a previous story I was listening to Talking out of turn on the radio on the way home from work. Unironically may be the best moodies song for the aux, absolutely heavenly on full volume. With all the orchestrals? Fuck, dude. Can’t recommend this enough. Do you guys have a favorite moodies song for the aux? I think this is probably mine

It honestly might be for me. It’s easily the best song off of From Zero, an album I consider on par with the previous ones with the exceptions of Meteora and Minutes to midnight since they’re so far above everything else for me. I like the idea of giving Mike and Emily their own separate verses and shaking it up a little from shared verses. And the lyricism is top notch, which generally speaking I don’t think there was a noticeable between Chester and Emily in terms of lyrical quality or style, maybe no gap at all honestly. It’s really just so perfect, it likely is top 10 but would probably be somewhere from 10-7 for me. What about you guys

The other side of life has the best moody blues guitar solo by a fucking mile. It’s genuinely righteous and fits in with the song. And honestly a lot of their other solos, even from good songs, just feel like they’re there to pad out the runtime. Driftwood, Magic, even Ride my Seesaw. But two other non guitar solos I’ll point out our Nights in white satin and Lazy day. They definitely shake it up and do something different with the flute and harmonica respectfully and it’s much more welcome. If I had to point out a single other guitar solo I would consider good, it would likely be bless the wings but I don’t know if it really counts considering how much other instrumentation it’s accompanied by

Bury a friend on the car radio all the way up is crazy. My mirror was actually rattling as was the car. Holy hell that bass line. To be completely frank I was kinda scared it might break something but it was so fucking awesome. Same with Ocean eyes. Billie's basslines are just built for full volume and subsequent ascension. Also I dont know if I'm recommending you do this too or not. I mean fuck it you have free will. IDK, anyways byeeee

I feel like observing Billie’s comfort in her own sexuality and boldness in regards to it has in many ways helped me feel comfortable wondering if I’m straight or not and comfortably coming to the conclusion. But here’s the ironic part of that: Billie was my first celebrity crush a long time ago when I was like 10 or 11 I believe. So in a sense she’s given me clarity on both the straight and gay parts of myself. Funny, isn’t it? But when the unknown nature of entering this thing I was raised to believe was immoral starts to rise frankly I remember how comfortable Billie is in this skin and it helps ease things. I’m sorry if this is oversharing but I just kinda wanted to say this as an almost sorta direct thank you note to her. Thanks, Billie

Making Odysseus a more morally sound character
Puttting the bow challenge at the end
The practical effects

Things I dislike:
Cutting my name is nobody
Cutting Penelope’s conversation with Odysseus at the end
The modern dialogue
Cutting Polytese

Months before I had lost a pet cat to that very disease. This song has always meant a lot to me because of that relatability but it really made me think and get emotional. It’s a little silly but Gerard and the guys made something so incredibly valuable yet devastating to me. I’m not sure I’d have the strength to even listen to it again but I’m so grateful for it. This one feels much more like a proper continuation (if we must) then 4 ever did. I maybe a found a lot of the typical “you people” dialogue from Jessie cringy but it works for the movie’s objective. But the strongest aspect for me is definitely its balanced commentary on tech. Showing in equal measure it’s good and bad parts. The 50 Buzz Lightyears stole the show and were a total riot. And a certain twist genuinely shook me to my core. Not a bad showing. Not as good as the two god sends but certainly a nice little novelty

I was talking to my youth leader of all things, about this girl I had been talking to (it didn’t go anywhere) but it seemed to be at the time. And then I did like this wrist clap, jump, giggle thing and he was immediately like “woah that’s gay”. Not really in a way like he was expressing a particular opinion on it, just observing. But it did make me think. I realized a lot of the woman I was already more attracted to were really masculine and that maybe some boys would also fit into that equation. I always thought about how my ex literally hesitated to talk to me when we first met because she thought I wouldn’t be interested cause she thought I was gay. But what helped me vocally come to terms with it was my best friend. We had both been growing distant from our religious upbringings and starting to be more..open minded. And after a long talk about this new part of our lives became comfortable in it. At the very least we had each other to face this new somewhat scary idea with. I’m eternally grateful for that. Which is ironic cause we wouldn’t even know each other if it wasn’t for our religious homeschool groups. Funny. Anyways sorry if this is oversharing. Just kinda wanted to share this funny little thing
