Australian pet insurance recommendations — experiences with GapOnly providers?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations and real-world experiences with pet insurance providers in Australia, particularly insurers that offer GapOnly claims.

We have a six-month-old American Bully puppy and currently have RSPCA Pet Insurance. Our policy provides:

* 90% back on eligible injury and illness costs * $35,000 annual limit * $500 annual excess * Vet consultations included when related to an eligible condition * Approximately $48 per month

The cover itself seems quite good. However, our vet told us that with RSPCA we would generally need to pay the entire bill upfront, potentially thousands of dollars for surgery and then wait to be reimbursed.

Because of this, we’re considering changing to an insurer that supports GapOnly, where the claim is assessed at a participating vet and we only pay the excess, our percentage and any non-covered costs.

I’ve started looking at Everyday Pet Insurance, Knose, HCF, Medibank and Bow Wow Meow, but I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have actually claimed through them.

In particular:

* Which insurer are you with, and would you recommend them? * Have you used GapOnly successfully for a large claim or surgery? * How quick and straightforward was the approval? * Have you experienced unexpected exclusions, sub-limits or premium increases? * Is there anything you wish you had known before choosing your policy?

Australia-only recommendations, please. Thanks!

Looking for recommendations - Outdoor security camera installation (Melbourne Outer North)

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for a good security camera installer around Melbourne's outer northern suburbs.

I have a single-storey home and I'm planning to install outdoor security cameras. Budget will probably determine how many I install initially, so I may start with just one camera covering the front of the house, but I'd like a system that can easily be expanded to 4–5 cameras over time.

If you've had a good experience with an installer in Melbourne's outer north, I'd really appreciate any recommendations (or companies to avoid!).

Thanks!

indoor camera/baby monitor for keeping an eye on a 3-year-old in their playroom?

Hi everyone,

We're looking for an affordable indoor camera (or even a baby monitor if that's the better option) to keep an eye on our 3-year-old while he's playing in his playroom.

The room is only around 6m², so it doesn't need anything fancy, but we'd like something that:

- Has a wide enough view to see the whole room (or can pan/tilt if needed).

- Has decent video quality both during the day and at night.

- Is reliable and easy to set up.

- Doesn't require an expensive subscription

We're in Australia if that makes any difference.

Would you recommend an indoor security camera or a baby monitor for this use case? Any brands or models you've had good experiences with?

Thanks!

Cheapest Way to Purchase an ITIL v5 Exam Voucher Only?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to ask if there’s currently a cheap/direct option to purchase an exam voucher for ITIL v5 only?

I’ve already completed my own self-paced study and feel ready to sit the exam, so I’m specifically trying to avoid paying for expensive bundled training courses that include content I don’t need.

Has anyone recently found:

  • A reasonably priced exam voucher provider?
  • An official PeopleCert option for exam-only purchase?
  • Any trusted training providers selling vouchers separately?

Would appreciate any recommendations or advice from people who have done this recently.

I am based in Australia

Thanks!
