I got a dell g15 5530 , i5 13450 HX.

I have done nearly everything but still im not able to get that "FIVR CONTROL"

VBS disabled (from BIOS)

Overclocking lock disabled (from grub shell)

Overvolt protection disabled (from grub shell)

Memory integrity off

Still im not able to undervolt man , what am i missing?

So, i bought my first gaming laptop, dell g15 5530 , i5 13450 HX , 1 month ago , out of the box it was lagging (on battery only) , i learnt more and downloaded throttle stop, turns out i was facing BD PROCHOT and POWER RED at the same time hence CPU stuck at 500 mhz. BD PROCHOT option was ticked and greyed sadly.

Tried for replacement , for like 2 weeks but couldn't convince dell , cause nothing popped up in their own diagnostics test, at last thought it is what it is.

Tried everything to get out of 500 MHz trap , NOTHING worked , i was broken and thought i just wasted money, then i dig more and learnt about UEIF variables , read BIOS image , and turned the BD PROCHOT offset's variables to 0x00 from grub shell. BD PROCHOT was now greyed out and unticked , felt too dam happy that day and 500 MHz was done and dusted.

Then comes the next problem POWER - PL1/PL2 RED (this one is occasional and comes on battery, idk what's the trigger point but sometimes its smooth at 30 W package power and sometimes laggy at 10 W with normal clock speeds)

For this i again tried the same method and tried to change overclocking lock from grub shell , but this time i wasn't that lucky. Then went to IMON slope (it tricks your PC that it's using less power and hence pushes some more watts , exactly the pl1/pl2 absurdly low limit i was facing) set the IMON slope to 70% from grub shell AND it changed nothing :) , previously cpu was pushing 100 watts in cinebench now 70 , lol nothing but just inaccurate telemetry. Didn't pushed past that 100 watts wall basically.

Then read unclewebb's comment and he said that this thing is because dell's manufacturer set these pl1/pl2 limits too low , and not a easy way to fix it. (EC is overriding grub shell's variables and throttle stop)

I was also looking for undervolting but again , i could only slide the sliders in FIVR to -105 mv and i was happy that my pc is now undervolted LOL , until i saw that UNDERVOLT PROTECTION on top middle of FIVR screen🙏

Researched about it and again went to grub to switch (undervolt protection) 0x1AE to 0x00 , again not solved (already turned off VBS from BIOS)

Then finally i am here sitting and just accepting that it's over , i cant undervolt my laptop and also that pl1/pl2 red on battery will stay with me for the rest of my life with this pc.

If anyone have solution for my situation , i will be more than happy , please drop your thoughts as well😊

Issue:

So i noticed when my battery drops below 70% , the clockspeed drops to 0.5 - 1.5 gHz , and idk sometimes it becomes normal for a littile time.

And throttle stop BLINKS BD PROCHOT and power (sometimes) while on that lag phase. Temperatures are just 70° C.

Things i tried:

Putting on high performance , switching to dgpu , disabling intel sensor solution/intel framework/tuning, undervolting ,min processing speed on battery 60,updated BIOS , disabling speedshift/dynamic tuning in bios , BD prochot is not available for me sadly .

PLEASE GUYS HELP ME THROUGH THIS, ITS JUST A HEADACHE, I COULDN'T EVEN ENJOY MY NEW LAPTOP DESPITE I WAS VERY EXCITED 🥺

I m going crazy looking at people going to their hostels man! There counciling is done , they got college, and now in hostels, tf dude.. and here i am , not even got round 1 results.

WHY comedk only man

So i bought dell G15 5530 a week ago..

And i m not getting fps as expected...

Online reviews shows 120+ fps in gta V

But i m getting 80-90 🥺

Also my GPU would mostly sit at 30 W , sometimes pushing 85+.. (biggest issue)

Windows update done , drivers installed , ultimate performance, bios done.

Any solutions🥺🥺😭😭😭

So actually i m from north india (uk) and thinking to join sjce, and i m scared to come this far , tbh i dont have much options right now, its june end, no other college will be available,,, just confused that will going this far will be worth it..

And that region shift , diff people etc 🥲

I m so fcking tired seeing other people getting their branch and desired colleges , jossa ,jiit etc all counciling are going on and what are we doing? We are sitting to get our documents approved wtf is this man

Its been 15 days man , still not approved , now they are playing with my mental health

How are you guys convincing yourself to leave home and go to a college in South? Like for me its 2500 km away from home.

I had so many thoughts, why to go this far?

Specially for private north colleges , i always compare the options i have ,but comedk clg always wins,i had 12.6k rank.

After months of spiralling on my on thoughts, JEE , comedk , new age colleges , i m finally coming to this conclusion (still not 100% sure , but no other good options)

As a northie , it's difficult to come this far , but , i feel i'll grow there , definitely a few weeks will sting me as hell , cause i never left home, it's first time and it's so dam far lol.

I have decent colleges near my house (i can do up down) like quantum university, i will get cse easily , fees is just 8 lakhs for 4 years and i'll live at home only.

And for comedk i got 87 marks 9s2 ,,, idk ,, rvce mech?

Do you guys think a good banglore clg with core branch would be better than a avg tier 3 cse?

(Cost at banglore for 4 years might cross 24 lakhs , and here it will be around 12-14 lakhs)

So , i will be taking admission in btech cse this year , i dont have any great options , just private colleges which take direct admissions like Chandigarh University,graphic era ,upes etc looking forward to work hard in college.

I do have another option like new age colleges , i wanna ask your perspectives on this , do you think these new age colleges stand a chance?

They give degrees by partnership that's okay , i feel it doesn't matter from where the degree is coming .

Besides these new age colleges are having industry driven curriculum and they know what's going on in the industry, i feel they would be better than a random ass private college , share your thoughts!

Is there any senior who got rank around 5-6k in comedk and got a CSE related seat in Bmsce in round 4 of comedk? I have some doubts.! Please do reply , its very stressful

So , i will be going to college this year ,not a crazy one , just a tier 3 , and i had a friend who was saying that he'll come with me ,but now he's saying that he's taking admission somewhere else , and I don't like that clg since intake is very much there , i was kinda happy that i'll not go alone in a new place , he'll be with me , but no more , it makes me think to change my decision and go to a local college where my existing friend have gone but i dont think its much of a good college.

But i feel i should step out and go to another city , but just feeling kinda lonely and afraid since that friend isn't coming (his decision is making me think twice)
