How much sound does the ear protector block out on a hockey helmet?

I just watched Brock Faber take a shot above the ear, it seems like that cause the skull fracture. He and most NHLers obviously don't wear the ear protector that comes with a helmet. Personally I have always just left mine on as I don't think theres a difference, but some say that the ear protectors can block out sound. So for people that removed them, do you notice a difference?

What steering wheel is currently in my possession?

I got this steering wheel that came with an old project car that I got around 14-15 years ago. I didn't know what it was and just put it in storage all these years and I haven't bothered to do anything with it. I'm going through my old stuff now and found it. What exactly am I looking at?

Panic and brain freezes when I get the puck in a game

I play in a decent level beer league, but I have this constant issue where whenever I get the puck, I panic and my legs kind of seize/freeze up and I can't skate properly and make a mistake very easily. I know that this is a complete mental thing because in scrimmages or training I feel free and like Im flying, but whenever I am in a game, I feel like I'm a Learn to Skate player again.

How do you overcome this mental issue?

How to make stronger passes while keeping the puck on the ice the whole time?

How do you get your passes to be stronger and harder, but, also keeping it flat on the ice the whole time? I found that sometimes I try to pass too hard, that I almost 'shoot' the puck, so it gets a little bit of air. Not a whole lot, just maybe 5-7cm off the ice? I'm talking about junior hockey level+

Speaker/tweeter upgrade for 02 JDM STI bugeye?

Looking at improving the sound quality of my 2002 Subaru WRX STI bugeye as the factory ones in there are on their last legs and honesty sound a bit crap. Has anyone done any upgrades or know of what parts are best? Thx

Edit: I've seen the word Crutchfield thrown around a few times but I'm located in AUS/NZ

Any electricians know what I'm dealing with here?

I'm looking at replacing the anchor that holds this cable/line from the power pole to then house. But I'm not sure whether this is a power line or a phone line. Family member of mine is convinced its a phone line but I dont believe it.

And also if I was to get the anchor fixed as it looks like it is on its way out, how would I go about it?

Powersteering hose replacement question

Im looking at replacing the powersteering hoses for my JDM ver7 bugeye sti 2001-2002 model. I found all but one part for it, part number 34611FE040, which is discontinued. I found that the 2002- blobeye model has an almost identical design, but has part number 34611FE140.

(highlighted in yellow the part i need) (green in the schematics)

Is it safe to assume that I can use the newer gen parts for my car? Thanks

Subaru WRX STI V7 - Power steering pump

Recently got a JDM subaru wrx sti version 7, and I have been trying to diagnose and investigate the typical power steering whining noise. The steering is also incredibly choppy and heavy at times.

I've been trying to replicate what they do on Youtube videos but noticed my power steering pump high pressure hose is placed completely elsewhere to what I found online. It looks like is on the left side of the pump. The videos usually showed the hose connected to the top. Does anyone have an idea on what is in my car?

Need advice on fixing paint and body work for Subaru bugeye wagon

I recently got a Subaru version 7 bugeye wagon that was wrapped terribly (I've still got some left to remove), so I decided to take it off. In doing so it revealed the old body and paint work. Taking off the wrap also took off some of the paint and showed some DIY paint work that I think the previous owners have done. The old paint is so old and faded that I can't even see myself in the reflection of the car (especially the boot).

The boot also feels like it has lumps and bumps when i run my hand across it (hard to see in the photos), and there are pinholes around the wheel arches. My guess is that this is all DIY work from previous owners.

What would be a reasonable pathway in getting this looking a bit better at a reasonable cost?

I was thinking either:
- having it wrapped in the original white colour (cheapest)
- Patching up the exposed paint areas and polishing up the faded paint.
- Having the whole car resprayed (but $$$$$$)

Any ideas?

Edit: if anyone has any recommendations on where to get a car wrapped or resprayed, please do let me know :)

Need advice on neighbour's listing agent cutting down trees on my property

Bit of a long one so I'll try my best to keep it short and concise.

Our family own a property that is being rented out. Last week a Property Listing agent for a neighbouring house from Barfoot came and asked one of the tenants if they could cut trees that were encroaching onto their property. Our tenant knew that the neighbours are allowed to cut trees that are encroaching and said yes. Later that day, I believe the listing agent called a bunch of arborists that came onto our property and cut down 3 or 4 fully grown Large feijoa trees and a big peach tree down to their trunks and limbs. They left all cut branches and leaves as is and didn't clean any of it up (as seen in the pictures). By this point, we weren't aware any of this happened yet.

Information about this got to our property manager and eventually to us. I told my property manager to get in touch with the listing agent that handled this tree cutting matter and we are now waiting on a response (as of Wednesday 13th May).

In our minds they:

- Trespassed onto our property (this happened more than once as they were seen on our property on more than one day)
- Irreversible damage to the trees/property
- Told us they were going to cut just the encroaching trees and did more than that

I went to the Citizen's Advice Bureau for a second opinion and they told me to get my property manager to discuss with the listing agent first and see if anything can get resolved there, otherwise go to dispute's tribunal. When we asked what we might get out of this, they told me that it would usually be compensation ($$$), but wasn't sure how much we might be entitled to.

I want to know what people think about this matter and what might we might be entitled to money wise. The trees cant be uncut and the damage is done, so the best we can do is make sure the listing agent doesn't screw up again.
