How can I handle payments if I can't use google merchant in my country?
Hello everyone!
Im a solo dev based in Morocco, and I built an app and I finished all the steps to publish. I had wired in in-app-purchases (1 time fee, pro forever) there is no subscription or anything like that. Then when I went to configure my merchant account to collect payments, Google stopped me because that isn't allowed in Morocco.
I can run ads with admob or 3rd party providers, but I can't use google play payments or sell the app for a price on Google. I can just do "free with ads".
I personally HATE ads, especially ones that breka immersion (full screen), I do have another game that uses ads but it is 100% optional and you can literally finish the game in a couple of hours without seeing a single ad. No timers, no special currency or any crap like that.
Back to my app. I really do not want to use ads in the app, (I will if it's my last resort) but I prefer a one and done payment.
After some research I found a couple of workarounds but they're all tedious:
Setup an LLC in the UK or US or Estonian digital residency and create a new account. 200 - 500 Euros minimum in fees plus a lot of extra work at the start, and more work to maintain that.
Build a website with the entire functionality and users can manage their "license" through there. Less tedious than LLC route, but I do have to create and maintain a whole separate branch of my app. Also it takes the users out if the app, and requires paying outside on a separate website and I think that will cause people to trust it less, so less conversion.
Have a relative or a friend abroad open another Google play account and transfer ownership. Easiest, but also a huge risk. I don't plan on the app making 1 million dollars on year one, but still it's a risk to consider if I get in a dispute or something were to happen to that person, especially since they're in another country.
Accept my faith, redo the whole thing and use ads and just accept that I can't give the same clean pro experience and my users just have to deal with it because "everyone else does it"
What are your thoughts people? What do you think is of the best option for me? Did I miss something? And is there someone in a similar situation that found a better workaround?
After spending over 6 months building an app, I find out I can't monetize it because I live in Morocco
I spent most of my free time in the past year building an app. I poured so many hours into developing, testing, fixing, and improving it. I was so excited I never bothered to check this stupid rule because who would've thought?
when I finally got a build that I felt is ready to share with the world. I made a Google Play developer account which costs $25 btw in the hopes that it's a small cost for the potential returns. I spent another week creating assets and preparing my app to list and its now in the review process. I setup payment and everything in my UI and code, I get to the last step which is "create a merchant account" and I wanted to break my monitor. Morocco is not supported. Literally every neighbor country is there, even Algeria is there (machi kan7egroum but politically speaking) the majority of the world is allowed, even countries known for scam and fraud, except Morocco.
Why? Who knows. I can't think of a benign reason tho.
I wouldn't call it effort wasted, I can still find a workaround and make a foreign LLC and all that crap, spend more money and complicate mylife to get to the same result people in other countries achieve with 2 button clicms, but it just hurts. You spend so much effort trying to build something and create side income since jobs don't pay shit here, and then your dreams are crushed.
Thank you Morocco. You never fail to disappoint amaze me.
Need testers for my app, will test in return
Hi everyone, I just published my first app, a sourdough starter helper with reminders and step by step instructions for everything, including recovery and a bunch of cool features for people wanting to learn about sourdough.
I am not using a Google group, direct email lists, and also I was thinking that we can make a reddit group for daily reminders to open each others app because j read that they can fail you if the testers just install the app and don't open it.
So, if there are 10-14 fellow devs in the same boat, let's help each other out!
Anyone managing multiple airbnb properties?
before I go further, this is not an ad, in not trying to sell anything, just looking for fellow hosts interested in testing and providing feedback.
second thing, there is no "AI assistant or AI analysis". Its all pure logic based on my personal experience as a host
Hello everyone! I have been managing multiple properties for close to a decade now. I started with just 1 as a side hustle, renovated an old family home and put some furniture in it before covid and over time I got offered more and more properties to manage on behalf of their owners. Thankfully a few years ago I bought my own parcel of land, and build my own little guest house.
I had 8 separate listings to manage, and this meant tracking check ins, check outs, cleaning, maintenance and repairs, laundry, staff, missing / damaged items etc... For a while I used just the native airbnb app, but it was just.. Not good!
I started looking online and came across multiple options, some were solid, but really pricy and commission based, the cheaper ones didn't work as intended or were so rigid that they didn't work with my use case. So I built my own Property Management System.
I started with the simplest part, an aggregate calendar that shows all your listings together (unlike airbnb mobile app which only shows 1 listing) that automatically syncs with Airbnb to fetch all your upcoming reservations, with some simple coding I was able to highlight and show how many check outs I have, and from that I could get the "cleanings" I had each day. And with this simple idea the core of everything, I began building and adding more stuff on it, and I'm now proud to have a system that automats more than half the daily repetitive work.
Current features:
- No download needed. It's a web app so you can do everything from a web browser.
- Automatic calendar Syncronization with Airbnb (no login or account linking required, only the iCal link provided by airbnb)
- Desktop & Mobile UIs friendly UIs.
- Cleaning, missing items, and damaged items checklksts (I have a property manager and he verifies each cleaning with a checklist. This helps with traceability (who cleaned what and when, so in case of issues, it's easier to track and fix them) it also automatically links the airbnb booking to any issues or missing items, simplifying the process of reporting damages)
- Full inventory system (includes furniture / per listing items, consumables, Linnings & laundry, and custom items with your control)
- Automatic inventory and laundry tracking (you configure what each cleaning consumes, and it's automatically handled with reminders when an inventory item is low in stock)
- Laundry tracking and prediction: tracks changed sheets and towels, their laundry state, and it even "looks ahead" in your calendar and will suggest prioritizing certain laundry items (I. E small towels, or queen sized sheets) or whatever based on your upcoming reservations.
- Staff accounts with roles and permissions: as mentioned above, I have a property manager that does quality control and greets guest, if you want, you could set up an account for your cleaning staff so that they only see assigned cleanings for that day, and can do their own check lists. I personally have 2 cleaning ladies that are a bit older and tech illeterate, so I don't do that, but I assign that job to my property manager who reports everything through the system.
I would like to meet 5 - 10 hosts that would be interested in testing the system with me for the next 90 days. First come, first serve.
Criteria:
I only have 3 simple conditions!
- at least 3 properties on airbnb or booking.com. they could be rooms, apartments, or even beds (hostel style)
- at least 3 month old account with +10 positive reviews.
- feedback, feedback, feedback. If you're not interested in giving feedback, please don't bother.
What you get in return:
- full onboarding, support, and bug / issue resolution within 48 hours of reporting it.
- Free membership for a year after the test period is over
- lifetime discounted subscription
Thank you to anyone that took the time to read this!
Finding more value In live Tennis games when the odds swing
Tennis is a unique sport where the odds can swing wildly despite someone being favoured simply for being 2 games behind.
Example:
Player A - Player B.
Model and market agree, with the market typically being a few percentage undervalued. I. E
Player A
61% winning probability, with fair odds of 1.64, and actual bookie odds beeing 1.57-1.60
Then Player B
39% winning probability, 2.56 fair odds 2.40-2.5 actual odds.
There are certain situations where Player B (likely to loose) will advance by a game or two in the first set, so the odds swing wildly in their favour, and now my model's favoured player has odds of 2.2 for example, now the expected value is wildly higher!
What I have been doing is placing a baseline odds order, asking my bookie to automatically stake a certain amount of those odds are reached) and it has been a very nice way to extract a bit more value of a game you're confident in. Of course there's also the chance that they're just playing bad that day and will end up loosing.
Im sorry if my explanation is incoherent, English isn't my first language. I just want to know your thoughts on this method, and if there are more resources or tips for this?
Is it just me or is the ref being too easy on Canada with the cards?
Especially in the 2nd half. There were several big and intentional fouls that stopped critical attacks and they get nothing!
Too siky to pick a side today. Safest bets are goals today.
Guys I figured it out. The dog is Julie storywalking.
Looking for testers for a soccer analysis and prediction app
The app is called AN3 Soccer (for now at least). It is a football prediction app built on mathematical statistics, not artificial intelligence. Every prediction is generated using a statistical model that analyzes historical team performance, attacking and defensive strength, scoring rates, and other match data to estimate the most likely outcomes.
Rather than relying on intuition or hype, AN3 focuses on probability and consistency.
Features
Match Winner predictions
Double Chance predictions
Over/Under Goals predictions
Both Teams To Score (BTTS)
Predicted scorelines
Goal probability analysis
Confidence ratings
Daily match updates
Clean and fast interface
What im interested in:
- UI experience. I tried my best to make it as clean and straight forward as possible, tell me your thoughts to improve.
- Information provided and its format.
- Any bugs or weird behavior.
Download link (itchio) : https://an3soccer.itch.io/an3-soccer
Sign up process: open the app > request demo > fill the short form (name, email, DoB, and TG handle) and submit. You'll get a notification when I accept it. Please put "betatest" in the TG field.
I don't require any personal info, if you don't want to include your email , just put your reddit username@beta.test.
Big thanks in advance to anyone who is interested.

My first accumulated (Parley) for this WC
Portugal and Croatia really could go either way. Thoughts?
Check the first comment for stats from my model, let me know if you expect different results!!
Let's be honest. Team played great, but if it wasn't for him, we'd be out.
I'm not underplaying the value of other team members, just saying Bounou saved Morocco in penalties for consecutive WC. This guy needs to be commemorated
Analysis and picks for Brazil VS Japan game today.
What I played:
W1
O 1.5
O 1.5 goals & Under 3.5 (second one with smaller amount)
BTTS: No
An ad I got served here oddly feels like a shitpost
You got the MiY, Boyd, Fatima, smiley, and idk who that guy is maybe someone from season 5
[Free] 5 - 10 testers wanted. FREE

I've been working on a statistical analysis model for predictions, in my testing I've had 65% rolling success rate, sometimes higher, rarely lower than 55%.
I've compiled the whole thing into a webapp, and packaged it into an APK. I want 5 - 10 people for testing (completely free!)
will give 1 week access the first 5 people to write me. I have a very very small server running it right now, so if it can handle the load, I'll give put 5 more codes tomorrow.
What I expect from you:
A small report a the end of the week with your experience. What you found nice, what you hated, what could be improved.
Accuracy tips, I suggest you only experiment with very small bets with the app. I've been doing small $2 bets for about 2 weeks now with positive results.
Value report. I'm trying to price it very very competitively. My app doesn't run on an LLM or any expensive backend stuff so I can run very cheap subscriptions, much less than existing services. But I want to hear from you, and what you think is reasonable.
Also I want to experimejt with a feee option + a village section. Let me know all your thoughts!!
If you're up for some experimentation, write me. Will forward you the APK file and a 1 week access code.
