Saw some discussion in this sub about both this style of thumbnail used on Cleetus videos and some AI slop thumbnails used by another youtuber.

Thought this was interesting (marketing stuff is like hacking people) and made this collage showing CM related channels using the same "thumbnail hack".

1999 HR-V functional restoration. Head Gasket advice wanted. Australian release.

Hi, this is my Australian (RHD) AWD 99 HR-V. I bought it 4 years ago for a few hundred dollars from a neighbour that had it sitting for a few years before that. I suspect it has a head gasket leak as there are bubbles coming up in the coolant but no oil in coolant or the reverse and no overheating when driven. It does rev up and down by itself at idle when the engine has a little heat in it, not sure if that is related. It starts and runs fine. Everything appears to be working.

It has since been licked by flames from a bushfire (Front bumper paint, clip on wheel covers and tail lights got a bit toasted). I have just bought some tail lights to swap out and some period correct factory Honda alloy rims.

I'd like to change the head gasket. I believe this car has a D16w1 engine. Looking about I think that most or all D16 engines use the same head gasket but I am not sure. I'd like to get a kit with new rocker cover gasket and whatever other seals need replacing at the same time.

I'm also keen to do any other job that makes sense at the time.

If anyone can tell me exactly what head gasket kit I should be looking at I'd much appreciate it. Is there a simple way to confirm the engine variant? If you have suggestions for other parts to check or change at the same time I'd appreciate that info too.

I love this little car and would like to make it a daily driver town run car.

Thank you for any help or advice you can give.

Seems Eddie might not be getting calls going forward, I had no idea. [Cleetus McFarland vs 247Eddie beef is crazy!]

Bit of overblown drama but it took me by surprise. I hadn't picked up on any fall out between them.

Not sure what to make of this other than popcorn time. I feel a bit bad for Eddie but it seems like winning a turbo may not have been great for him in the long run.

(Yet another) Frog found in sealed produce bag

Saw this on youtube, searched to see if it had been posted only to find other posts about bag sealed frogs in produce. Woolies statement claims it hasn't happened before. Reporter thinks it looks like a tree frog but I disagree.

I'm on the hunt for a replacement ignition coil for a Honda Today (AF61 NVS50) scooter.
I have found the original Honda part number: 990929

Hoping there is a known alternative that will work that is easier to find. Maybe a coil for a Honda Dio 50 like an AF18 or AF56 would work?

I have been asked to help a local community group to purchase a 4WD. They have been donated $15k for the purchase. The vehicle has to have minimum 7 seats and to be able to tow a trailer with a moderate load (stacked with canoes and camping gear, under 1 tonne) on some steep and somewhat rugged tracks. It will not be used for tricky 4WD tracks. Reliability and serviceability are priorities.

I know a Landcruiser would fit the bill but not the budget. So far Pajeros are the value leader but I have only 2nd hand experience with them and most of that is not fantastic on the long term reliability front.

So I am looking for vehicle options to try narrow down the search. I'd love to hear other's opinions.

Vehicle is to be homed out of town in a rural/bush location about 1 hour from Grafton and 2 hours from Coffs Harbour in NSW. Willing to travel for a purchase but it is difficult to travel back and forth to inspect options.
