Would a Cole Wehrle game work as a movie or TV show?

I’ve been thinking about this lately: what would a movie or TV series based on one of Cole Wehrle’s games actually look like?
His games have so much political intrigue, shifting alliances, competing factions, backstabbing, and worldbuilding that it feels like there’s potentially a great TV adaptation hiding in there.
I could especially imagine Root as an animated series, or Oath as a darker fantasy/political drama. Even Arcs could work really well as a space-opera series.
But I’m curious what people who actually know his games think on which Cole Wehrle game with Kyle Ferrin’s illustration style would make the best movie or TV show?
Would you want a direct adaptation of the game’s world, or something that simply uses its setting/lore as inspiration?
I think the political nature of their games would translate well to screen.
My main question would be if this one of those things that sounds great in theory but would completely lose what makes the games special 😅

Board game gift

Hey everyone!

I’m thinking of gifting a board game to a couple friends of mine a board game. They don’t own any board games. But they’ve said that they would like one to play in their evenings.

I really love board games, it’s really a passion of mine. And I want to gift them one. This might be a bit selfish, but I don’t want to gift them a board game I already own 😅 (my low weight games are arnak, azul, carcassonne, castles of burgundy, flip 7, Bohnanza, that’s not a hat and secret Hitler).

I’ve had a lot of ideas, but I’m stuck on what to give them. At the beginning I was thinking of Calico. However, I asked to one of them what type of board games she liked cozy vs. thrilling and she said that she liked player interaction and that brings a little of fun memories. So I crossed calico. I also thought of Heat.

What’s your opinion on this matter? I don’t want to give them a heavy board game, but not a super easy one.

All opinions are welcomed! Even if to say that it’s stupid I don’t want to gift them a game I own 😅.

Books About Society That Will Generate Lots of Debate?

Hey Reddit!

Me and two friends of mine want to start a book club where we read non-fiction books about society topics (modern or not), in parallel with our fiction books.

Mainly we are looking forward to books that spark a lot of conversation opinions and debate.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you so much!!

Malaysia Trip Advice

Hey everyone,

My boyfriend and I are planning a Borneo trip and could use some advice from people who’ve been there.

We’ll probably be in Borneo for around 6–8 days (still deciding if extending it is worth it).

Right now we already have:

  • A trip around Mount Kinabalu to look for Nepenthes species.
  • A 4D3N Kinabatangan River tour booked for wildlife

After Kinabatangan, we still feel like we’d love to do some kind of proper rainforest/forest trail experience.

We started looking at possibly extending the trip to add either Deramakot Forest Reserve or Imbak Canyon, but we’re not sure if it’s worth it. Which one would you pick and why? Or is it even worth adding another forest stop after Kinabatangan + Kinabalu?

Is there another place in Borneo that would make more sense for what we’re looking for, or would something like Taman Negara later is enough?

Would love to hear your thoughts or what you’d do in our situation 🙂

▲ 8 r/Arcs

I need clarification on how the Faithful objective works in Arcs: The Blighted Reach, specifically when the same ambition is declared multiple times in the same chapter.

The Faithful card says: “Each time you win an ambition, advance 1 for each action pip on the top card of the Faithful action card stack. If the stack is empty, advance 10 instead.”

“If you win multiple ambitions in the same chapter, advance multiple times!”

My question is about the situation where in the same chapter, the same ambition (for example, Tycoon) is declared twice and at the end of the chapter I win Tycoon.

Would Faithful trigger once or twice? Does this count as winning multiple ambitions? We got very confused with the wording on the manual and the card. Is the ambition the suit (tycoon) or the ambition marker?

Thanks everyone!
