I'm a bit irked how celebratory people get when people quit and lose their jobs with this company

To snarky users; why do I care? It's called being human and curious. Something you're not capable of having, selfish pricks. Touch grass.

I am going to clarify that this is specifically for scenarios where, a wal-mart job is *all that they have* going for them for a varied assortment of reasons. It's probably their only income. That's all that they're offered. That's all that they can get. That's the only thing in town. Stuff like that.

If you quit or be 'promoted to customer' with another job lined up or something on the horizon is there for you like a career, then hey, congrats and wishing nothing but the best for you. You deserve better.

However, it kind of bothers me in the other cases where it's like, it's weird how people are just praising the fact that someone just isn't getting income anymore. I mean, if we take away the aspects of Wal-Mart of itself, it is still a job at the end of the day. It is the reason you're able to get by. Because the economy is still trash with no one competent to fix it. The job market is even worse with thousands and thousands of people cut off from their jobs which makes competition very high.

It is never a wise idea to lose a job and not have anything lined up afterwards. Because sure, it might feel great for like the first week of ridding yourself from a Wal-Mart job. But then once the expenses start piling up and you don't have the means to deal with it, you're in for a world of struggle.

Here is something else I don't really get, that if you're tired of working for Wal-Mart, why aren't you utilizing the offerings the company gives? Like, they will pay for your tuition to have a better education. That is them indirectly saying "hey, we know we suck and we know you hate us sooo...why not aim for something better? eh? ehhhh?". So if you're not doing that, then it's on you for why you're not going anywhere.

So yeah, I just find it very weird that for every other 'I quit Wal-Mart' or 'I got promoted to customer' post, the comments are oddly saying "hey, I'm glad you're jobless! go you!" if the post is the case of someone just throwing away a job with nothing lined up for them.

How are people this braindead?

It's like when people go through the doors of Wal-Mart, it's suddenly like their brain just dissolves into nothing. They become drooling consoomers who ask and say some of the dumbest things imaginable.

I've had a fair share of stupidity come from the mouths of these people. Just last night, someone couldn't determine the difference between a Wired and a Wireless PS4 controller. This was in electronics. I mean, the difference is in the price, but they couldn't tell for the life of them as they were engaging in an open phone discussion on speaker.

Not long after dealing with her, this guy comes and asks for a charger. He couldn't tell me which charger, whether it's for USB-C or Lightning. He pointed at his phone's port, which obviously looked like a USB-C but he shook his head when trying to verify what he's looking for. Then, he couldn't tell me specifically as to how long of a length of cable that he wanted. He ended up, picking himself, a 5 foot cable with a charge block. Which, had USB-C on it.

Then far earlier in the day when starting, a woman came up to me asking for Parmesan cheese, as she was coming from the section where it's shredded or sliced. I asked if she wanted one or the other and she really responded with "I don't know..." as she just walked away.

How are people this fucking stupid?

Last-Minute Rush Jobs...

I have two O/N coaches that love doing this fucking thing where they want people to rush-rush at last minute. For example, just an hour ago, before I left, my O/N coach brought out a whole pallet left of frozen. I was in frozen and paper all night. And it's like, it's 6:25 in the morning and you expect us to grind ourselves down to get that pallet done? Not worth it. Not worth it with fucking OGP and dumbfuck customers CONSTANTLY in the way!

Just send that shit back in the freezer, make it someone else's problem. And the other O/N coach is worse, he'll grab you with 10 minutes left of your shift, ask you to do a couple pallets in a lawn and garden center that's not ventilated well, still heated from the shitty ass summer weather.

Like fuck off.

Is anyone burned out from activism?

Like, it is not that you do not care about this or that. But like, you have your own life to live and do not want to be spending it tirelessly going around telling people that this is wrong and that is the right way.

You just want to enjoy what is there instead of constantly boxxing yourself in with fear of judgment for the slightest thing.

It is where I am at, I can do only so much as one person but yet expected to move mountains.

Can't wait to be done with socializing online in general, ugh...

Now that I fully understand what's going on with my situation of my internet, it cannot come any sooner that I'd be done with just everything in regards to online socializing. It's just tiring and it's a bunch of noise. Lots of noise, including your own. It sucks when you're an opinionated individual, because you almost feel like you have to have your input in somewhere, anywhere.

And when you're engaging in this constant level of noise, you lose sense of yourself and wind up just conflicting yourself. Like not knowing if anything you're saying is really what you believe or have faith in saying it from what you're saying if it meant getting a reaction of any kind.

It is more problematic when you run into roadblocks that just ruins the momentum of socializing online. These road blocks are in the forms of people who're power-tripping from what little power they're given to moderate. In the forms of people who heavily prioritize in flame-baiting, thought policing, redirecting your thoughts and just getting outright argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.

That is all just more noise with the addition of frustration. I don't really have a lasting on any account in any social media platform, even when I've had the honest intention in mind, to contribute without looking for any trouble.

I last an average of maybe 1 ~ 3 months, lucky at the third month. I expect myself to be banned or restricted for prolonged periods, over something I've said, over someone getting report-happy, over this and over that. It's just exhausting as all fuck to continually start over and over again.

Which is why I will be in glee to have it all over with. I don't know, maybe I don't want to stay offline for 2 months, maybe I'll just go the rest of the year. It's gotten to where, whenever I think about going online again, I am mentally disgusted, whereas before deciding this, I was conflicted. Like worrying about keeping tabs on things. Now I just don't give as much of a fuck, there are other things that need my time and space.

The 1-hour sensitivity thing is a joke

This should be all day and all night. Not one hour. Besides, from experiencing this thing that they do, sometimes it doesn't even go for a hour. Sometimes it's 50 minutes. Sometimes it's 1 hour and 5 minutes. Like, if you can't fucking upkeep this concept then it should either be we have it constantly or we don't.

Quite frankly, the lights should be dimmed at all times and the radio should at least be on while customers are around and the store is opened, but cut that shit at night because nobody gives a fuck about the personalities and the repetitious music there.

1 week in and so far it's just okay

No I will not clog up the subreddit with periodical updates like 2 weeks, 3 weeks .etc I will probably make a one month post and that will be it after this one.

One week of having no net, which includes the on and off days I have with disconnecting my net before nagging my ISP to really disconnect me. I have had two whole days of actually being offline entirely, save for the mobile.

So far, it's been okay. I have been able to be a little more productive around my apartment. Been able to fix a little table's loose leg, decide on more things to donate and allow myself to breathe a little into the moments.

I am running out of small videos that I downloaded and only been watching very long videos by parts. We are talking 3 hours to 11 hours. Compilation videos and videos of interest I would watch when it is longer. Any video that I have that's 15 minutes to an hour, I just burn through.

What I hope though is that once I run out of videos, I will be able to dive into my physical media of movies and shows, both animated and traditional. Something I feel has been dying.

For games and books, it's taking a little to branch out. I have a lot of games installed and downloaded that it's probably going to take even longer than 2 months to go through. But they're there.

I am only restricted to mobile browsing which is more manageable than my desktop habits. I get distracted and drift far more easily when I am online on the desktop than ever on mobile. What I can't help is that I am a very opinionated individual so I do and have tended to reach for the phone, browse and say what's on my mind to somewhere. Before slipping back away.

I am noticing though how truly lonely it's starting to feel with no one to talk to. I did give out my phone to those I trust a couple of days ago and so far, nobody. I will get more concerned if I don't hear from anyone the longer this goes on. Almost makes me think sometimes as to who was really there for me and who wasn't.

We should be allowed to comment on ads

It is a cop out that we are barred from commenting on all of the shitty ads pushed on us throughout reddit. Why don't companies want accurate feedback on what we think of them? Are they lonely people?

Isn't it the best way of engagement is to allow us to get intimate with them? I mean, I wouldn't tell a company like BK to get fucked if they allowed comments on their ads. No, not me.

To the power tripping mods over there

Go fuck yourself for taking the side of a block swiping insecure piece of shit that cried to you to have my 10+ year old account banned. You don't block swipe and flame bait by expecting nothing to come of it and that person had receipts.

I had 3 million platinum including a good deal of items that were dear to me too, and they were acquired with the help of a kind soul on there who actually became my gaian wife and good person outside Gaia.

I had supported your constantly broken down site with subscriptions and buying Gaia cash on the side. I had watched as you spottily handled matters, probably going by what you think is open and shut cases.

And before I got banned, I saw you openly lie to your community about the usage of AI. You are obviously using it while telling people you are sort of maybe not using it.

So maybe this was a blessing in disguise, but I would have liked to still be around. You have truly lost your way. And I still have an 19+ year old account around also banned over petty matters

So fuck you both, that insecure shitbag user and you asinine tripping mods on there.

This has just been a disaster already

Almost one week since I was supposed to be offline, the internet is still running, I've been giving into my impulses, downloading more things and still being seen foolish everytime I've given in. This is just not going well. I fucking hate it when things just keep going when they aren't supposed to and when shit lingers, shit continues.

I sent out yet another e-mail to my ISP which can be basically described as a "what the fuck is going on?" kind of e-mail, though not explicitly stated. And yes, I have manually disconnected the ethernet cable, modem, cable .etc as a means to do it myself. But morbid curiosity got the best of me and I asked myself "is the internet actually off?" to find that it's on after reconnecting everything.

I find it more sexier for men or women to just be down to their underwear than nude.

I might be getting a little desensitized to nudity, just a bit, to where I find it incredibly sexy if a woman was down to just her bra and panties or if a dude is just down to their briefs. I mean sure, them stripping down to nothing is okay, but I fantasize a little about the foreplay involving just being down to undergarments than going straight to being nude.

What has been the hardest or easier thing for you to deal with when you decide on having no internet, phone .etc?

Like one of those things that gets incredibly hard at first but could get easier as time goes on.

I know my biggest problem is going to be filling time as to what to be doing. I'm prone to be getting bored pretty easily, so if I'm not doing anything to fill time at all, then I'm going to go back to habits I know better not to deal with.

And with an abundance of free time I'll have, the first week is going to be rough. Especially when I have shitty nights at work and my first impulse is to jump online to unwind. Now I won't have that for a while, so it'll be a matter of 'what now?'.

The easier thing to deal with is just not communicating. My social interactivity with friends has been fairly absent. The kind of people who probably don't care if you're gone for months on end, which is both a good and bad thing.

Social Media really makes you feel lesser than and it's sad

And I'm not talking about the strangers online who have too much free time to shit on your experience with social media. I'm talking about, how you're on something like Facebook and you have your friends. You make statuses keeping everyone up to date but almost nobody at all engages with it.

And it's like this for a while. I was afraid of experiencing it but it's happening with me. There's a video I saw a time ago, where a man was on Facebook. He shared stories, images and whatnot of the ups and ups of his life. He got reactions. He got likes. He got comments.

Well, sometime afterwards, he stumbles a little in his life and the opposite of all of the good things he had just experienced, goes downhill. He gets divorced. He loses his job. Just downhill. And he wasn't getting nearly as much acknowledgement or engagement from anyone.

Whether or not that was staged, is anyone's interpretation but it sent a very powerful message. Social Media has conditioned us to where, we cannot or refuse to process a lot of negativity because the Media in general has been doing a stellar job of that. So while the Media is reporting nothing but shit after shit for us to deal with, we go on social media and we just simply select to ignore anymore of it.

Even if it includes alienating those we've established connections with.

And it's that kind of behavior, that really makes you feel like you don't matter at all. Not to mention traces of toxic positivity do factor into it too where nobody can handle even an ounce of negativity, everyone must be smiling and enjoying the spoils of life. Life isn't perfect, there's always going to be shit in the way at somepoint or another.

Social Media has taken away our ability to normalize the fact that everyone is going through shit and we don't simply have that much spirit to just muscle it through. So in turn, we leave people in darkness, into pits of even more helplessness than they ever did before.

My love life is over

It sounds dramatic but I can't stress how true it really is. I've been single for four years now. Anybody who I know that I can 1:1 mesh with, are taken and have been taken for quite a long time. And when I thought an opportunity was going to open itself when one of my better potentials said that they were going to stay with who they're with despite the clusterfuck of problems that's happening in their relationship.

It's like well, okay, whatever.

There's a few people I'd open myself up to and would drive myself to be the best I can be for them and myself for in improving. I'm just not easily as compatible to the next person because my life was largely a bunch of curves and paved with setbacks and regrets. I've disowned my family because of a history of issues with them so it's like even if I'm dating someone, there's going to be no one but me beyond getting to know.

The dating scene right now is looking unattractive to me because it seems like, a lot of people just want ideals out of people to fit some sort of built up relationship fantasy of some kind. That's not really my flow when it comes to dating, I was like that in the very early stages of my dating but that was all high school shit and later on in life, I realized there's no point.

I'm just too specific of an individual to simply mesh with. Not to imply that I'm like a 10 or that I'm enshrouded with a veil of perfection that everyone else is lesser than. I'm just built different and I'm shaped a lot by what has happened in my life and I'm simply still coursing through it as best as I can.

And it just eats at me that the very few people who gets all of that and understands while going through their trials, aren't available and they're with people who don't get that and it just drives me nuts to think about at times.

So it's like, if I can't have who I'd totally mesh with and I'm too focused now entirely on self-improvement and not impressed with the dating scene. Yeah I can safely say my love life is over. 24 relationships in total has been a good run, both offline and online. Kinda wish that I had lost my virginity to someone better than who I lost it to, but whatever, life I guess.

So what exactly is LL's game plan?

If they don't want to do VR, if PBR is having mixed results, their mobile app is more or less successful or a pain to get it there. What exactly can LL do for and with SL to keep it relevant? Because they're maintaining a 40k userbase which still isn't bad considering the longevity of the platform, so that's consistent.

It's just, anything ambitious they try doing with SL, is either half-baked in execution or met with some level of scrutiny. So what should they do? Stay the course?

So my ISP apparently wants to trap me into my internet

So a lot of people here saw my post previously where I was determined to take 2 month vacation from the internet as my attempt to clear and stabilize my life with the time away from it. I've been exchanging e-mails with my ISP to discuss about vacation pausing, they say they can do that. But, they also said that I'd have to return the equipment.

Which I then responded that, that was something I wasn't looking to do. I was just hoping that on the last day of the month that I've paid for, that we could just disconnect me, then in 2 months, I come back and they re-activate. But according to their policy, customers who want to sever their service longer than 2 weeks, are required to surrender the equipment.

And I quite frankly, found that a load of bullshit. Since also, that, I'd have to pay them $50 to install the modem back after the 2 months, then another $50 with the plan and rental on top of it. That's $100 that I'm not simply willing to pay when it could've been far simpler to just disconnect me, you know?

That would be like as if I was done-done with the internet, which I'm not, I just want a break. I just don't see the point of continuing to pay something, that I'm trying to not use. Because if I'm paying for it, then I feel that I have to use it or I'm just wasting money.

Such a stupid fucking policy. Damn me for trying to do something for myself.

I'm going to take off my internet for two months.

I have been online for a long, long time. About 30 years to be exact, this year being my 30th. I've started using the internet when I was young, just as any young kid would, surfed around, played games, met people, got into strange things I shouldn't have. As I grew older, the internet gradually became a necessity, something that was there when I felt nobody talked to me.

I've met some wonderful people online and some awful ones along the way. This isn't to say that I never had real life friends, because I did. I juggled both the real world and digital world simultaneously. I got to see the highs of what the internet could offer, but, I also got to see and experience the lows of the internet that it sunk to, today.

I've noticed in the past 4 years though, I've been struggling on what the internet serves as a purpose to me now. The things I've grown up with and happily partook in, have either disappeared or changed for the worst. My circle changes from time to time. I'm finding myself at the jaded end of some communities I've participated in.

And currently, activities are dormant. People are quiet. I'm burnt out. I need to focus on...me. Me and my spiraling life. So, I'm waiting for my ISP to tell me if they do service pauses. If they don't, then I will take the liberty to cut my internet for two long months.

Not after I binge download a favorite podcast of mine because, like hell I'm going to live without that and I've been wanting to get back into it badly (The Prancing Pony Podcast for those curious.)

I've accumulated lots of games. Lots of books. Lots of movies, shows and other things. I'll be fine. It's just the first time in a long time, I'm giving myself a much needed vacation.
