Just need suggestions.. overwhelmed

Feeling a little overwhelmed. My son is 8 and has profound special needs, both developmental and medical. My husband has not been the same since the day he was born but has done his best to work through it. Lately, it’s gotten worse and I can tell depression is creeping in. His line of work doesn’t help, but he’s very good at compartmentalization so it doesn’t really impact the kids. Today was a bad day. He was sad, emotional and said he doesn’t have anything to look forward to and doesn’t feel joy anymore. He can’t see himself being truly happy ever again. I did confirm he is not feeling like harming himself or anything of that nature but it does explain the recent increase in outbursts and frustration. We have 2 other kids and I’d say we live a pretty normal life. I work from home and do my best to take on as much as humanly possible. He does get out of the house once a week/ at least every 2 weeks when the weather cooperates to play a round of golf. He has spoken to a therapist a few years back but she wasn’t the right fit. I’m not sure where to go next but I needed to get this out. Thanks in advance.

Post exchange woes

Prophylactic DMX in May, 5 days ago I got my exchange to 350cc mentor high profile implants (with fat grafting). I feel small, low and flappy. I also feel grateful, guilty and struggling with what I thought would be slightly improved. I have weight to lose, gained 15lb between surgeries. Feeling down about the outcome.

Strange skin lesion on neck- urgent care said “no idea” and gave me 10 days of doxy.

Hi! 36f from NJ. Noticed a small bump (kind of like a bite? 3 days ago. Today it’s a raised feeling streak like lesion. Not warm not tender no itch. I’m only in my back yard and we don’t have a ton of trees or tall grasses. I have no other health issues and take no medication. No new soap lotions jewelry etc. didn’t even know it was there till I saw it doing my hair. I went to UC today and they were stumped but decided to give me 10days doxy in case. Is there anything else I should be doing? Anyone have any other ideas?

My perspective- venting 💗

The influencer headlines today have been, to say the least triggering for a lot of us. I don’t feel comfortable posting elsewhere so I came here to vent but also provide my perspective. Thank you all in advance.
I am a special needs mom.
I am also a TFMR mom.
I am also a mom of typical children.
I am also a human.

I became a mom in 2016. Amazing perfect and wonderful.

A few years later I had a child with severe, life long cognitive and physical disabilities. It was a RARE AND RANDOM genetic issue that was missed on all the tests, we were surprised at birth. We were hit with a Mack truck but we get through it day by day sometimes minute by minute. My child will live with me, need me and be cared for by me for the rest of my life.

I got pregnant again being told it was like being struck by lightning what happened with my son, no need to worry. We still did the testing and bam. Another DIFFERENT rare and horrible genetic diagnosis. (We did full panels none of this was inherited). At 20 weeks (the absolute earliest for all the testing possible, we got the confirmation via amino and painfully decided on TFMR.

I live it every single day. My family is often isolated due to my child’s health, by default. We can’t do so many things that we would love to but it’s not for lack of trying. His NICU stay cost 1 million dollars and I should mention I come from a place of extreme privilege. Our insurance is the best that it gets. We struggle every single day to make the world work for our child. The sacrifices no no limits and we will go to the ends of the Earth for our kids, but I understand that this is not possible for many families.

Please do not feel badly when you read these articles. Many of these people have never had to watch their child alone with no friends, grow and mature so painfully slowly that it seems it will never happen. Another playground we can’t go to without wheelchair access another little league field without a team appropriate for your child. Another school event that they can’t participate in, baby locks, front door locks, fences, gates, alarms, padding around their bed, diapers forever, medications, feeding tubes, hospital stays, medical bills, time off of work.

you made the choice for you and your family and what you thought was best. Please do not ever second-guess that.

Implant sizing question

Hi ladies 💗 had my PDMX 2 weeks ago and I’m thriving, one more visit with my PS and I can schedule for my exchange! I’m currently filled to 275 and he knows I’d like to be around a full C cup. He doesn’t plan on any more fills. I’m 5’5 190 (thanks to 10lb from this surgery and 5 from stress eating prior). So I have a wider frame overall. How in the world will he fit a big enough implant without further fills? Anyone similar size willing to share their stats?

I did it!!! And you can too!

I am sitting in my hospital bed with so much gratitude. Today I had my prophylactic DMX. I found out 8 years ago and have done mammograms/MRIs each year. My youngest child is now 2 and I felt like it was time. I’m 36. My pain is well controlled, I’m watching tv and eating a graham cracker and I just wanted to thank everyone who posts here, shares their stories, selflessly provides “TMI” details because it gave me comfort to read so many of your posts. And those who are considering, scheduled or in the trenches, I see you, I’m here with you and you can do this! 💗
