“THAT WAS 8 YEARS AGO!”
TLDR at the end.
Izuku did not know what to expect out of life anymore.
He was living his dream of being a hero again thanks to the suit his friends helped make for him.
He felt like he was accomplishing his purpose in life teaching at UA helping steer the next generation of heroes as well.
Every day felt like a dream come true.
And then aliens invaded…
“You green Martian BASTARDS!” At least his former-bully-turned-best friend/rival Katsuki Bakugo, or Kaachan, was here with him.
“We are not Martians. We are #%^*+s, the martians annihilated themselves millions of cycles ago, you have nothing to worry about Great Explosion Muder God Dynamight.” While it was terrifying when they implanted the Universal translator into them Izuku was still thankful for it, otherwise he wouldn’t understand a single word of what Centurion-that’s what the alien man(?) said his name was-had said.
“Um. Excuse me, Centurion sir?”
“Please. Formalities are unnecessary from a hero such as yourself Deku!” The green-skinned regal looking man from the stars turned away from placating Bakugo and focused his full attention on Izuku, his entire demeanor changed to something embarrassingly like a fan or one of his students.
“Riiight… so why did you attack our planet and abduct us?”
“We did not mean to invade but we needed to draw your world’s greatest heroes and a fake invasion seemed the fastest way to draw you to us, apologies if we went too far!”
“You took a whole city and lifted it INTO THE SKY!” Bakugo helpfully pointed out the, admittedly, awe inspiring & horror striking start of the allegedly “fake” invasion.
“W-We put it back where it belonged!” Centurion defended while revealing his species could stutter apparently.
Taking the initiative, Izuku put on his ‘Sensei’ voice and sternly, but gently, addressed his alien captor with what was bothering him the most since waking up on their ship: “Centurion! When you first appeared in Japan you made a call out for ‘The Greatest Heroes’, LeMillion and Shoto were on the scene almost immediately but you ignored them! Why did you take us two instead?”
Bakugo grumbled something about him being ‘the greatest’ which apparently Centurion heard and whole heartedly agreed with. “We saw both of your fights against the greatest evils your world could created; Dynamight coming back from the edge of death and Deku launching a punch that reverberated throughout your planet! Some of our deep-space scanners caught your strongest SMASH Deku sir…!” Oh no.
“We come from a Galaxy Far Far Away where an evil Warlord threatens the peace and destroys any worlds that do not fold to his Evil Empire, we lost our own world to him already…” Centurion proceeded to explain how a Coalition of Worlds sent out explorers like Centurion to find ways to fight back against the evil empire that threatened to swallow the stars.
Unlike his contemporaries who believed the Earth to be a waste of time Centurion knew from ‘historical records & recordings caught in deep-space’ that Deku & Dynamight would have the power they need to save them All!
“…and so I come to you with my request. I will spend the rest of my life apologizing if I have to but right now I must ask-nay! BEG YOU…” Centurion proceeded to perform a perfect Dogeza “…would you be… OUR Heroes?”
A moment went by, then two, in complete silence.
Centurion broke his supplicant pose for a moment to look up to his would-be saviors, ready to plead with them again and again until his voice went raw. But he stopped himself cold at the looks plastered on the heroes’ faces.
Centurion had studied Humanity’s Historical records extensively so he believed he had a fairly good grasp of Human Facial Expressions:
Dynamight had an ‘Angrily Sucking on a Lemon’ face!
And Deku looked ‘Pale as a Sheet’? He was unsure what a sheet of paper was but Centurion certainly thought the hero looked whiter in the face than should have been possible for his species!
Then both heroes broke out of their stupor at the same time to declare:
“THAT WAS 8 YEARS AGO!”
One in anger, the other in horror.
Centurion recovered well enough, even if he was confused at their reactions; “well yes but our scientific studies says that you humans mature with time, so you should be stronger in your ‘adulthood’ then you were back then. We realize it is not rare in your culture but we %^*+ would never bring children to war!”
Deku was so deep into a doomer spiral of speed muttering that his translator was failing to keep up so Bakugo took over the conversation with barely restrained anger;
“You…! That. Would. NORMALLY! Be true…” anger mixed in with-something else Centurion couldn’t place-strained every word Dynamight spit out at him. The explosive hero had to take several deep breaths before continuing: “…but the nerd-DEKU! Deku… lost his quirk, he doesn’t have that power anymore!” Sadness. There was a sadness and regret mixed in with Dynamight’s proclamation but all Centurion could really focus on was one of his heroes being seemingly depowered!
Following Bakugo’s example Izuku took multiple deep breaths and slowed down his mouth to regular speaking speeds again, stamping down his panic. “Centurion… I am not the hero I used to be, I’ve been a civilian for the last 8 years and became a school teacher!”
“B-but you fought me back in Japan! You didn’t use your full power but you kept up and used some of the same abilities from the records!”
Centurion was growing desperate, did he make a mistake or were they trying to trick him?! The idea of his human idols attempting to trick him would have been better than to believe they weren’t what he expected anymore-what they NEEDED!
“My friends spent eight long years working hard to give me another chance at being a hero…” Deku couldn’t hold back the grateful smile that took over his face at recalling the great gift the people he loved worked hard to give him, Bakugo was better at hiding it even if he did seem to puff up in pride at his role in helping with the creation of The Suit. “…but the suit is nowhere near the same level of power as I had back then!” Aaaand there went dynamight’s mood.
“It runs on a battery and really only my friends Melissa and Hatsume can fix it when it gets damaged and then there’s…” and now he’s mumbling again. Bakugo did NOT need to hear this again, so the suit wasn’t perfect-SUE HIM! It was still good enough to blast Deku into the top ten, even if most of his ranking had been popularity from the war Deku had still worked hard at every incident & case he showed up for when not in class.
And now he’s mumbling about not being that good and that REALLY SET BAKUGO OFF! “Shut up Deku! Even if you’re on a timer you are still a goddamn hero you bastard!!” His sudden anger snapped both Izuku and Centurion out of their spiraling thoughts.
“Th-tha-that’s right! It’s like Dynamight says! You are still a hero and your suit shouldn’t be a problem for our scientists and engineers to figure out!” A plan was beginning to form in Centurion’s mind “if we can upgrade your power source and update some of the human tech with ours you can still help us! Even if you do not reach the same level of power as 8 years ago with your heroic spirit, our technology and Dynamight’s God-like explosive speed we can still-!”
“Oh Kaachan can’t go that fast anymore…”
“…”
“…deeeekuuuuu…!” Bakugo seethed at what he knew Izuku was about to reveal.
“He has a heart condition from the injuries he sustained 8 years ago, he can’t use his… ‘God Explosion Mode’ anymore.” God Explosion Mode being the name chosen by Dynamight’s Fan Club for the powered up Awakened state he used to defeat All For One. Said Awakened State he had tried to access a few times after graduation through training & recovery but always resulting in a visit to the doctor, multiple stern lectures about not pushing himself that far unnecessarily and at least one heart attack. To be fair; no other villain on the level of All For One had risen in the time since the Final War against the League of Villains so he really had had no need for God Explosion Mode, he was just pissed that a physical condition kept him from what should have been his Peak Power.
Centurion for his part seemingly didn’t take it that bad? He seemed laser focused on the screen like device on the back of his gauntlet.
“Infirmary. Come in. Prepare the OR for surgery. R&D. Do you copy? How quickly can you design and produce a replacement human heart?” Centurion casually spoke into his comms
“SURGERY?!/LIKE HELL!!” Reigniting the panic & fury from the two men-who throughout all of this had STILL been tied up with the sci-fi equivalent of rope…
“It’ll be a setback for sure…” “DONT YOU DARE MONOLOGUE OVER US!” “…but I believe you two to still be the heroes we need!”
Blaring sounds and a message that their translator implants translated to EXITING HYPERSPACE FLIGHT all but cemented the inevitable of their soon to begin Space Adventure.
“It, also, uhm-just so happens to be too late to turn back… we’ve left your Galaxy entirely. Sorry.”
Centurion composed himself and brandished his best smile, not too dissimilar from how an All Might Look-like would sport, Deku thought. “Like you humans like to say; ‘you are not in Kansas anymore’!” The wall behind Centurion glows bright for a moment before becoming completely See-through, the new window exposing the Earthling heroes to vistas never before seen outside of the movies-and even those that Katsuki & Izuku could conjure up did not compare to the sights before them.
“Welcome to the Greater Intergalactic Community. And to The Guardian’s Headquarter World”
“…I’m going to miss the rest of the semester aren’t I…?”
Bakugo: *INHALES* “son of A FU-!”
*meanwhile back on Earth, Milky Way Galaxy*
“So, just to summarize: our numbers 4 & 5 heroes are gone, possibly abducted, aliens are real and an entire city of people held hostage in the air just dropped back down to where it was… I get everything?” the current, though hopefully not for much longer, President of the HPSC Keigo Takami questioned the boardroom of government officials, police representatives and top heroes assembled before him.
“Well. At least the city is in one piece” the former Pro Hero attempted to focus on the positive.
“Um, actually…” began one of said government officials “…while there were no grievous injuries caused by the displacement of the city, other than those inflicted by the panic, the area that was taken & put back was seemingly re-inserted into the earth… backwards?”
A moment of silence for the Minister of The Interior.
“None of the utilities can be reconnected since they quite literally do not line up anymore…”
Gonna have to call Cementos out of retirement. Again. “Welp! Literally anything else?” The former pro-hero turned Commission president asked sardonically hoping for no further responses.
Then literal Men in Black walked in
“Allow us to Introduce Ourselves.”
TLDR; Deku & Dynamight embark on a cosmic adventure! While entirely unprepared and far from their peak… but the aliens that took them are fans! A Post-End of Series Fic Idea.
