So Im trying here for the third time, last time when I posted here I got two response and when I replied to them they just ghosted.

Well… here I am, trying Reddit for something I clearly haven't figured out in real life. 😂

So a little about me,

I'm 25, from Kerala and currently in Chennai for work. I work a regular corporate job, go to the gym occasionally (emphasis on occasionally), take way too many photos, and spend an unreasonable amount of time looking at tech, cars and random stuff on the internet.

I'm generally pretty chill. I like good conversations, going out and exploring places, long drives, movies, photography, trying new food and those random conversations that somehow go from “what did you have for lunch?” to discussing life at 2 AM.

As for what I'm looking for,

honestly, someone I can be comfortable with. Someone who's kind, has a sense of humour, can communicate properly and doesn't mind a little sarcasm.

I'm not really looking to force anything. I'd rather talk, see if we actually get along and take it from there.

And yes, I'm also looking for someone who will tolerate me sending completely unnecessary reels throughout the day.

I'm 25, originally from Kerala, and I've been living in Chennai for a little over a year now. Moved here after getting placed in an IT company through campus, and life's been going pretty well so far. Just taking things one step at a time, building my career and figuring life out.

I've tried dating apps, but they haven't really worked for me. Got a couple of matches here and there, but nothing that went anywhere. Even tried talking to someone I liked at the gym... let's just say that didn't work out either. 😅

I’m originally from Trivandrum and recently moved to Chennai for work. I’ve been on Bumble for a while, but it’s been a ghost town, no matches at all.

I even tried Premium for a week, hoping it would make a difference, but nothing changed. I eventually stopped caring and just let the app sit there.

​Three days ago, I got a notification that someone liked me. Curiosity got the better of me, so I opened the app and swiped right on the first profile that popped up. It was an instant match, and to my surprise, she was also from Trivandrum.

​Since she liked me first, the ball was in her court to message. I honestly expected nothing, but she actually messaged me! We got to talking, she’s in the medical field (though she recently resigned) and is currently waiting on some exam results.

​The conversation felt a bit "dry" on her end, but when I asked about her weekend plans, she said she was free. I suggested we meet up, and she agreed. I let her choose the place, and I even double-checked with her the morning of the date to make sure we were still on.

She confirmed: "Yeah sure... it's evening, right? I will be there."

​I was literally walking out the door to head to the location when I got a message: "Unfortunately some emergency came up, is it okay to meet up some other time?"

​I was pretty disappointed, especially since I had checked in with her just hours before. I replied, "I almost stepped out of my house, but okay."

​She just replied with, "Sorry."

​That was it. No further explanation, no attempt to reschedule, and no conversation since.

​It feels pretty clear to me that she wasn’t actually interested, but I’m left wondering, why bother matching and agreeing to a plan if you’re just going to flake at the last second? It feels like a massive waste of energy.

​I’m leaning toward just unmatching and moving on, but I wanted to get some perspective. Has this happened to anyone else in the Chennai dating scene? Am I overthinking it, or is this just a classic case of someone being bored and looking for attention?
