Hypothetical DIAB adaptation in Armored Adventures
Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that it would've never happened cuz a Nicktoons show obviously wasn't gonna let their 17-18 year old Marvel protagonist be an alcoholic but just for the sake of argument and hypotheticals, how do you think they would've handled it and would they have handled it well? I like to think they would've done it well cuz it would've been awesome to see them go 3/3 on Tony's biggest storylines
What's the general consensus on The Life of Captain Marvel?
I read it a while ago and I really liked it but apparently it's a controversial book in the fandom cuz I've seen conflicting opinions on it so I was curious. Granted, I haven't gotten around to her earlier Ms Marvel books (I've read most of her Captain Marvel books from 2012 to now) so I'm just curious on what people who have probably read more than me think🤷🏽♂️
Was there anything that you look back on with hindsight and be like "Yeah... I should have realized this a long time ago"?
Looking back on it now, there were a LOT of signs that I was bisexual that I just ignored or just wrote off as "normal" when they were GLARING signs like when I apparently tried to kiss this guy in my class in elementary school and when I was curious about how gay sex worked back in middle school/high school and granted, I never actually looked it up back then but I just told myself that it was something everyone got curious about and it was normal to be curious about that
Does anyone else have a story like this? I would love to hear y'all's stories if y'all have em
My favorite scene in the show bar none
I love this scene and this whole episode so much cuz it shows Clark that even with all his powers, there's some things that even he can't save people from and this particular scene makes me almost tear up every time like imo this is Tom's equivalent to the All Star Superman suicide page and I love it so much
The more I read and watch of the Brood, I understand why Carol, Scott, and whoever else be wanting to wipe them from the universe cuz these mfs gotta GO
[PJO] Just wanted to make an appreciation post about PJO
I always tell my mom that one of the best things she ever did for me was buy me PJO as a kid in 3rd grade cuz that's what made me a lifelong reader and sparked my love of the written word and it's what made me wanna be a writer myself and the book I'm currently trying to write (It's a very slow work in progress) is heavily inspired by PJO so yeah I can pretty confidently say that I wouldn't be the same person without PJO so I just wanted to say thank you to a series that in every sense of the word changed my life (Also, I'm currently wearing my CHB shirt as I type this😂)
Why are people so dismissive towards comics?
My mom just asked me what I was reading and she said "I wish you'd read something besides comics" and I just said "Why?"'and she just looked at me and said "Why do you think? What kinda question is that?" like the answer was so obvious and self explanatory and I said "I don't know, answer it" and she said "I don't gotta answer nothing" like can someone explain to me what's so bad about reading comics?💀 (For the record, I do read other stuff besides comics btw)
I found a Captain Marvel card at the movie theater and wanted to share
Emma's villian era
I was just thinking about this but Emma's villian era is to her what the high school era is to Peter Parker in the sense that they haven't been in that role in 40-60 years and yet that's all that adaptations portray them as
Tony and Carol as a ship
One of my friends, whose a huge Iron Man fan, asked me what I thought about the possibility of a Carol/Tony ship and I was curious on what other people thought. Personally I think they're genuinely better as close friends but if they ever did decide to pursue something romantic? At most I think they'd go on one date and immediately just go "Nope uh uh this ain't gonna work" or they'd hook up and be mortified as hell and treat it like the worst mistake of their lives and never talk about it again but as far as an actually serious long-term relationship? I don't see the vision
Explained Avengers 200 to my non comic reading friend and he basically had the reaction I expected and the only appropriate response imo💀
Does Carol's personality change often?
I keep seeing people on Twitter say that Marvel is constantly changing Carol's personality/characterization and I've read most of her major books from 2012 to now including KSD 2012, KT run, Life of Captain Marvel, CM 2023, Dark Tempest, Dark Past, Assault on Eden, and McKay's Avengers and she's always seemed pretty damn consistent to me so I don't understand the idea that her personality is constantly changing like am I missing something here? Now I will admit I haven't gotten around to reading her older Ms Marvel stuff, I plan to soon, so if that's where the disconnect is happening then please feel free to tell me cuz I'm genuinely confused here cuz she's always seemed to be a pretty consistent character from what I've read so far
If I had a nickel for every time a Jennifer Hale voiced character was willing to blow up a star system to protect the wider universe? I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice (Mass Effect reference for those who know ball)
Tom King vs Gail Simone
I started reading Tom King's WW just to see if it was actually as bad as I've heard cuz I was like "There's no way it's THAT bad right?" and I got 4 issues in and had to drop it and that's saying a lot cuz I almost never drop books. Then I went and started Gail Simone's run cuz it's been on my list for a while now and the difference in the two actually gave me whiplash💀
I was reading the KSD run and saw this in the letters section and stuff like this is why I love Carol
Carol is the one who always pushes the envelope, breaks boundaries, shatters glass ceilings, and never lets anyone tell her who or what she is or what she can or can't do. "Higher, further, faster" really encapsulates her character in 3 simple words and she really doesn't get enough credit for being the inspiration that she is
Between Lana and Lois, this is genuinely how Chloe was looking for the first 5-6 seasons
Would I be crazy for saying that Carol has "Toxic Masculinity"?
I was rewatching Peacemaker S2 and I got to the scene where the doctor tells Harcourt that she suffers from toxic masculinity and the way he described it sounded very Carol esque to me
Suppressing emotions
Aggressive and prone to violence
Hyper independence
Maintain a hard appearance
Am I tripping here or nah?
