while rewatching season 2 clips i realized the contrast between the two uncle-nephew duos.

avon and joe have two totally different perspectives on violence in the drug trade, as the barskdale organization has at least 15 bodies of throughout the show while joe is opposed to violence as it brings police attention.

their nephews on the other hand contrast their views on violence: d’angelo grows to become sick of and disgusted by the violent aspects of the drug trade throughout the show, and shows disdain towards the game in general. cheese on the other hand is more reckless (killing his own pet dog and going as far as giving up his uncle).

i never heard or saw anybody point out or discuss this contrast, but it’s one i’ve found myself thinking more about.

I might be starting a temporary role in Jersey City and might light rail from Newark Broad St to Newark Penn Station to take the PATH. I’be never taken the Newark Light Rail so i have some questions:

How does it compare to the Hudson Bergen Light Rail?

Is there anything I should know before hopping on?

Would it be quicker to take the light rail to Penn to PATH to Journal Square or should I just go straight to Hoboken and take the PATH from there?

for those who went to the roots picnic last weekend, who did you go to watch and who were the highlights for you?

this was my fourth year going, this year i watched bilal, trouble funk, de la soul, brandy, jay, the live mixtape, mariah the scientist, t.i. and erykah, all of which i really enjoyed.

some parts that surprised me was the dj before trouble funk playing smells like teen spirit by nirvana and we found love by rihanna, jay-z’s freestyle and him rapping his verse from the remix of lost by coldplay, on top of black thought rapping over the rack city verse!

the picnic is always one of my favorite events each year)

we usually get stop and shop brand seltzer at my house, the peach-pear being a go to. the last few times i had it, it made me sneeze a little more frequently and made my eyes feel watery.

does this happen with any you of you with this one or other seltzers?
