Can someone explain MMR

On DPS I have played a lot of matches solo queue and go back and forth between bronze 3 and 2 with abt a 48% W/L. For support i am silver 3 and have played a good amount less. Why do my bronze games get 9% per win while my support gets over 20%? I also find that the silver lobbies are way easier when im on support

Where to find cards? (Online/In Person)

The only place I’ve been able to find cards was at my LGS on release day for OP16, but don’t know where to find products anywhere else. Any recommendations?

New Bar goer and afraid to try new things

I live in a college town that has the standard bar scene, we got beer bars (like Barcade), local dive bars, restaurant bars, and a couple "cocktail bars" (or at least thats the descriptor on yelp). Ive wanted to branch out from my standard drinks like manhattans and daquiris and start trying some more niche drinks. Ive tried to ask for off-script drinks like a Last Word, or an Aviation, or an A La Louisiane, when at a restaurant and have always felt awkward because it would confuse the waiter as they would have to go ask the bartender and then come back to see if its something they could make. Even tried to get a Last Word at a "cocktail bar" and they didnt have chartreuse and makes for an akward experience. Especially when it comes to drinks with less common ingredients, how do you go about asking for a drink that is more niche/complex? Is it bad etiquette at some bars to ask the bartender if they can make it?

Starter setup at 21 yr, go easy on me

Turntable: Technics SL1200 M3D
Cartridge: Ortofon Concorde
Speakers: Kef Q1 Meta
Amp: Fosi ZA3
PhonoPre: Art DJ II
Streaming: WIIM mini
Secondary Speakers: Elac Connex Debut DCB41

My next upgrades I want is to get a better cartridge (ATVM95ML) and save for a sub. I don’t really have the most space so I’m still researching a good sub for my case

The second pic is how my speakers are configured most of the time as i keep them on my desk, so I don’t have too much separation as the first pic shows.

Next piece at my repertoire level

Hi yall, I’ve played violin from abt 10hr a old to 18 and then stopped during college. During that time I was concert master of my school and community orchestras, working on the 2nd movement of wieniaski 2, schindlers list, Bach partita 2 gigue and able to play pieces like Rieding concerto and accolay (although I never got to the harder fast parts in each of those pieces, I always struggled with fast sections). I’m 21 now and starting to pick it back up. Besides continue to work on those pieces, I was curious if the next step up was Bruch or Saintsaens 3. I started bruch but never got past the first couple pages. I never really went down the standard solo repertoire pipeline that a lot of higher level violinists went through, so I’m not to sure what my level is

Looking for an oddly specific type of Jazz Piano

I am a big fan of the youtuber Charles Cornell and often watch his videos breaking down the harmonies and melodies of some famous themes or songs. He takes a jazz forward approach talking about the theory and will often play a song (one that might have a fast moving melodic line) into their simple chord progressions, showing the voicings in a very pretty way. I really like this type of piano, however a lot of jazz pieces and jazz piano pieces are alot of fast moving lines playing individual notes where there isnt emphasis on the chords (at least i mean the chords arent explicitly played, im not saying the chords arent there because I understand all the individual lines and scales make up the chord progression)

An example is in this video at about 3:51 and 5:35 where he breaks down the chord progressions and voicings with these nice full chords on the piano. I wish i can just listen to him play these progressions without all the other fluff in the piece hes looking at lol.

Any suggestions on where to find this more "chord-centric" jazz piano pieces?

YouTube conspiracy theorist Fleshsimulator reveals he has been the target of organized harassment by a “snark left group” and vows to take them down and make a YouTube PR nightmare

Somehow tankies and Hasan are the common thread amongst all these cases🤔

Edit: this is not an endorsement of this guy in any way, I just find it interesting how these groups operate and are so connected

How to learn fingerings?

I’m working on violin concertos and some other pieces and I no longer have a teacher so a lot is self practice. Ive always struggled with seeing some complex run or passage and know what fingerings to use. (Think the intro the Brahms VC) Other than finding annotated sheet music, what are some ways yall have figured out the right fingerings for things

My first ever OP set open

How do values typically hold up after a set releases? The set hasn’t been out long enough to know graded values and I wasn’t following OP during past releases so I’m not sure

Dealing with the hate on this community

Spent some time going through the comments of the fantano video and this is all just depressing man. Not only does everyone seem to be on the same page that ethan is a "pathetic, sad, sociopathic loser" but they say the same about this community and H3 fans. I understand that there will be some blowback from being a drama podcast that criticizes others but damn, h3 really has become an internet pariah. And you cant talk reason to anyone since our community has been labeled as "rabid, mysoginist, brigading bots that defend everything ethan does". As someone with OCD it really does get to my head being a fan of the show. I feel like if i talked to any of my friends about the show they will look at me like Im evil for supporting such an evil creator. How do yall cope?

Finding Good Letters of Reccomendation

I am a rising senior at a T3 school looking to apply to a PhD program in energy physics (fusion, plasma, PV, batteries, applied stuff, etc) however I am beginning to really stress out about who to go for reccomendation letters and my mediocre GPA (~3.5). I have worked in one lab during my freshman year, however I left after the summer and the project did not materialize to any major results since I only had ~8 weeks, besides some upgrades to the code analysis that I did, and I am not too close to the PI as we have only talked a couple times since my first year.

I studied abroad doing fusion research at Oxford for the following summer and have asked that PI to write me some letters of rec for internship/REU applications I applied to for Summer 2026. That PI seemed happy with my work and final write up on face value and was happy to support my other applications, however I dont know how strong that rec letter was given that all my internship/REU applications for this summer have been rejected. (I also feel like we did not accomplish much during that summer since my project failed by the end, the most I did was develop a framework to analyze different types of simulations, but never got results) (ps: I also feel angst as I was not reliably in the lab every day at 9 am and did a good amount of work from home. psps: idk how big of a deal that was given that the PI was only in the lab 1-2 times a week)

Now I am currently in a lab that I started Junior Spring that I feel confident to ask for a rec for as I will continue in that lab next fall. But that's only one letter.

I have heard that I should ask professors from classes that I took, however the issue is, I never performed exceptional in these courses (mostly all of them were B/B+'s), so I dont feel good about asking any of them either.

I am really feeling stuck with no time left for improvement.

Preparing for the Physics GRE/Importance to PhD admissions

I am a rising senior at a T3 Ivy League school studying physics with the hopes to get a PhD in either plasma fusion or energy sciences (material, battery, PV, etc) and work in the energy sector. My GPA is not that great (~3.5/4.0) and I have two summers of research (with only one of the PI's Ive kept in contact with) and a lab I have been in since Junior spring.

I am looking at the Physics GRE and am getting worried as I am struggling with a lot of these questions. Is this a sign I should start looking into other things post-undergrad, especially given the state of graduate admissions currently? How important is the GRE scores, my GPA, etc etc
