I am just about finished with my latest project of making a custom Cissnei figure in Play Arts Kai scale and just wanted to share it with you guys. All of the components are almost ready just need a few finishing touches (paintjob, varnish). I went with a more serious facial expression to make her appear more mature and maybe use the headsculpt for a new attire some time in the future.

I will be following up with a proper post showcasing the whole figure in a couple of weeks since I am not at home. I just wanted to share and check if anyone has any last minute tips to make the figure even better. Enjoy!

The headsculpt is done, I went with a more serious facial expression than the ingame model. The body and the shuriken need couple of finishing touches and a final coat of varnish. This is what I am working with right now.

I will be busy for the next couple of weeks so the post with a complete figure with some cool poses and proper photos will have to wait a bit. Hopefully you like the work so far.

Today I finally got around to doing something I've been putting off for ages. I took all figures out of the display, cleaned the whole thing, swapped the LED lights for cold white lights and reorganized the figures.I realized I might have a problem when they were spread out on the floor and there were so many of them accumulated obver the years.

The display itself was a bit of a project too. I had a very specific space to work with - wanted the width to be 100-105 cm and arpund 35-40 cm deep. Spent a long time trying to find a cabinet with the right dimensions, but never found anything that really fit. In the end I had one custom made last year. The shelves are also custom made, 20 mm thick acrylic because with the weight of PAK figures I didn't want to deal with sagging shelves down the line. The shelves were expensive as hell but it had to be done. I still got a couple more figures planned for this year, but it's getting crowded as it is.

Anyway, now that everything is cleaned up and back in place, I thought I would share a few photo of my cabinet, new lights and all of my play arts kai figures in one place

I'd also love to see how everyone else displays their collection. What kind of lighting do you use and how you set it up? Any custom cabinets, shelves or any clever solutions for displaying but not making it look crowded. It's Always fun seeing other people's setups and maybe picking up a few ideas.

To keep her what makes her Tifa, she keeps some her signature design elements (red boots, crop top, gauntlet) but along with the standard SOLDIER uniform to a degree. Her shoulder pauldrons accomodate her lighter slender build since she is primarily still a martial artist.

Since her fighting style focuses on speed, mobility and martial arts, her gear is lighter and less bulky than most SOLDIER operatives. But as we all know, everyone undergoing a SOLDIER program, must be trained in swordfighting so she also carries a custom SOLDIER sword.

The only thing I couldn't bring myself to change were her eyes. She should probbly would need to have Mako blue eyes, but Tifa's natural reddish eyes just fit her too well. Maybe I will change them some day.

I posed her in multiple angles so you can check her out, I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Just arrived today. Very happy with my new figure. Kinda refreshing to see him posed with Kingdom Key.

This weekend I did some work on my custom Cissnei figure (base is Elena PAK body) and here is the update:

• Painted the hands with black primer to emulate gloves
• 3D print of the shuriken and headsculpt completed
• Made the strips that go along her sleeves and legs - don't know what those strips actually are, I call them Nomura strips
• Painted the tie with black primer

Stuff I yet need to do:

• Complete the paintjob on gloves, tie, strips and pockets by making them black and glossy
• repaint the whole suit a bit because her suit color is a different shade from Elena's, it's a bit more blue and the shirt color is a bit darker
• Work on headsculpt and shuriken

Final two picture is a render of how her headsculpt should look like ideally.

This is my general plan. Any more tips from someone experienced in customs like these? Also I have a question for those familiar with Cissnei as a character: I tried to estimate the size of her shuriken by comparing the figure to the ingame model and I came up with 9.5 cm length from two furthest points. Please take a look at the pictures of the figures holding the shuriken and give me your opinion is it sized appropriately? Thx in advance.

While we're all waiting for the first FFVII Part 3 trailer, here's a small project I ended up working on today.

SHORT VERSION:

Zack body (2018) + Cloud V1 head (2017) + Zack's SOLDIER sword (2022) = custom Cloud SOLDIER 1C

DETAILED VERSION:

I've always wanted a proper SOLDIER 1st Class Cloud to stand alongside the rest of my SOLDIER figures, so I finally decided to make one myself. I already had all the other 1st Class-level characters in my collection, but Cloud always stood out because he was wearing his standard outfit with s single damaged pauldron. On top of that, his SOLDIER uniform is noticeably more blue compared to Zack Angeal and the others.

I realized I had an extra Crisis Core Zack PAK from 2018 lying around so his body needed to be sacrificed for my amusement. Those older figures are slightly smaller than the Remake era PAK figures, and it actually worked perfectly here. Cloud ended up a little shorter than my 2022 Zack, which matches their height difference much better. also the slimmer arms also fit Cloud's proportions nicely.

For the head, I tried both Remake Cloud versions. Version 2 is definitely closer to the in-game model, but after comparing them side by side I found myself preferring the Version 1 sculpt for this particular project. It doesn't look quite as accurate (maybe since the in game model was not yet available in 2017), but there was something about it that makes Cloud look a bit older, tougher and more edgy, which felt right for a hypothetical 1CSOLDIER Cloud.

In the end I used the Version 1 Cloud head on the 2018 Zack body. For the weapon, I gave him Zack's 2nd Class sword since he obviously wouldn't have the Buster Sword in this scenario. Assuming Zack is still alive, he wouldn't have inherited it in the first place (or maybe Angeal would still have it, who knows?Anyway, here's my take on a SOLDIER 1st Class Cloud. Now he finally stands shoulder to shoulder with the other SOLDIERs instead of looking like the odd one out.

I also include a few comparison shots of the Version 1 and Version 2 Cloud heads so you can see what I mean.

Got some useful input on my previous post showcasing my custom play arts kai Sora and added wisps of darkness coming out of his body. I am not a pro but this is the best I can do and am happy to sahre it with you all.

This started as a KH2 Sora PAK that I customized myself and it came out as a mix between theRage and Anti forms. I wanted the overall dark Anti Form look, but at the ssme time I still wanted him to have a keyblade, so this ended up being my own take on it. I had it on display or some time and I keep wondering about some aspects.

• Do the colors feel right, or should there be more or less blue?
• Does the Keyblade agive a metallic vibe as i intended?
• I also thought about adding the Rage Form style symbols to the outfit, but since they're supposed to glow I'm not sure how to do that without just painting them light blue and potentially ruining the look

Curious about what other people think.

I am fully convinced one of the announcements today will be a DQVIII remake for switch/switch 2 with a september release date. It makes sense and it’s my favorite in the series. Anyone with me?

Hi, I am about to start my new project of making a custom Cissnei figure. For the body I was thinking about sacrificing one Elena Play Arts Kai figure. Do you think it would work? Their figure seems very similar to me. Just wanted to see what you guys think or if you have any other suggestions? I have the face sculpt and weapon already figured out.
