Soup from leftovers

Made chicken burritos last night and wanted something different tonight. Leftover: rice, chicken, pinto beans.

Saute onion, cabbage, garlic, shredded carrot. Add cilantro, beans and broth - I used chicken bouillon. Simmer 30 minutes. Added cut up chicken at end. Rice into bowl and ladled soup on top.

Cucumber salad on the side.

So excited - Barbara Kingsolver's new book!!

Just now found out and it looks like it's out on October 6. I've read ALL her books and loved them. (However, I could not finish Damon Copperhead after trying several times to start it. I'll pick it up again in the future though!)

Really looking forward to this one - happy reading everyone!

Turnip greens - thanks for the ideas

Swamp Soup - saute sliced sausage, onions, add garlic. Add broth (i used chicken bouillon), chopped turnip greens, white beans (rinsed). Simmer about 30 minutes. Add small cooked pasta (orzo)

I added shredded Romano+ Asiago, side of corn bread

Delicious 😋

(I was gonna add a picture but idk it's too complicated)

Turnip greens and strawberries

Hi hey folks. My brain is kinda fried lately and I'm struggling with ideas. I recently received from the food bank: 15# of frozen strawberries, (but no blender) I also have 2# turnip greens. A ton of canned green beans. And so much chicken breast. I'm grateful, but just stuck. Do y'all have any ideas ....?

Chicken i usually do: burritos, chicken nuggs, chicken parm.... what else?

I only have a microwave, stovetop and oven.

Thank you!

Simple comfort meal

It's hot AF, but I wanted some sort of comfort food... rice, ground turkey, garlic, peas+carrots, shredded cheddar

Please help me

Ugh I can't stand my fine hair. I usually put it back in a small claw-clip. I do like the color (getting gray now tho) and the feel - soft. But what about these stray flyaways?? Is it new growth? Broken hairs? (I did have drug-induced psoriasis the first 5 months of 2025, where a startling amount of hair kept falling out, and it just now, like a month ago, felt "normal" again)

Yes, I have a fivehead. Any cut suggestions for that? I also *really* despise spending much time or money on my hair, so.... also have found that most products are too "heavy" . Also, taking minoxodil or other, daily for the rest of my life is not feasible for me.

Thank you 🙏 😭

Gifted this

Hi folks, hoping this is ok to post here.

Was given this freshly cut piece today.

  1. Looks like powdery mildew on a few leaves - is it? Just remove those leaves? Or?

  2. How do i dry it out. Smells great, quite sticky.

Thank you! 🙏

Baby bat in front yard. What to do?

It could've been lost/dropped/abandoned...but they typically shouldn't be out in daytime. Reckon just leave it and do nothing

Sunday evening, no reply from anything like animal control.. don't worry i know not to touch it. We do have indoor/outdoor cats, and I know there's a colony (ies) in the attic rafters in ours and the house right next door.
