As the title says my A1000 is in need of a new keyboard connector on the main board. I know it’s a 4p4c rj10 jack, but I’m not sure about the socket type. If anyone has had to replace the one on their machine, where did you find the new one?
Got this example very cheap in original box as non booting. Unfortunately it does not in fact fully start up despite my hope it just needed a new battery. It makes the start sound every time but I either get something on screen then the machine freezes, a grey screen, or nothing on display at all. Having a second (also non booting) unit I swapped around parts; power supply, video card, rom, cache, ram; but nothing changed. I thought it may be the power supply needing new caps (also the board) but then noticed corrosion/oxidation on some of the CPU pins and one that appears to have broken off at the attachment point to the chip. I did clean the area but nothing has changed, and am now thoroughly stuck.
I’ve heard these 601 machines can be fussy, so if anyone knows what may be wrong I would appreciate it
