Am I accepted? Or am I found wanting?

Maelstrom wanderer is my first commander deck ever for context. If he has no fans then I am dead.

My first TPK in a decade of DMing

Hello everyone! Just swung by to say to be careful during the Beholder fight, with lair actions and legendary actions and abusing the bridges even the strongest parties can be killed.

Rest in peace to my players lvl 13 characters.

Edit TLDR: the players killed Sadrek away from the beholder, the beholder saw it through Sadreks staff.

The players went back into its lair and attempted to surpise attack it. Turns out it was a major image while the beholder was invisible in waiting.

The beholder got a death ray, disintegration ray and charm ray off on the bard. He failed all three saves. The bard was an arakockra and was charmed to fly into the beholders treasure room and wait there.

The fighter shot the beholder with his bow and did alittle damage. The paladin/lock got off a couple eldritch blasts. The cleric couldnt cast anything due to the anti-magic cone.

The fighter was on an upper bridge where the fake beholder was. The beholder got a paralyze ray off on him, followed by a disintegration ray on the bridge where he stood. The fighter fell into the pit taking 80 damage.

All the lair/legendary actions were spent attempting to hit the paladin/lock or the cleric when she moved out of the cone.

Next round the beholder took some damage from the cleric and the paladin/lock.

The beholder hit the cleric with a death ray, a sleep ray, and disintegrated the bridge she stood on. She failed all saving throw and took 76 fall damage at the bottom of the pit.

The paladin waited at the edge of the bridge where you enter the lair, unable to do anything to help. As the beholder dropped down into the pit to finish the fighter and cleric, as the paladin/lock failed two saving throws against a paralyzed ray and a petrified ray after. He failed the saving throws again and turned to stone.

And so the remaining demon lords were left to be defeated by by some unknown heros, in some doomed timeline, alas poor yorick.

We are looking down rhe barrel of a new campaign, possible wild beyond the witchlight, possibly tyranny of dragons. Im giving them some time to think on it.

Same I spent so much time painting demon lord minis haha, but that's life.

This is the best campaign I've ever ran and its not close

I finished this adventure over a year ago but I still think about it now and again.

For newer DMs, dont be afraid to change and alter almost everything in the book to fit the story you want to tell.

As long as you have players that are tied into the story and are invested, the work is all worth it.

How could I improve this board?

Everything was golden and I have the death rattle trinket.

I could swapped anything with anything at this point given I have gold and flags in play. Part of me was thinking of swapping brann out for a regular rylak so I could have 6 beasts instead of 5 and get the extra deathrattle trigger.

Looking for someone thats good with math to answer this question.

Optional Balor fight

Just got to run an optional Balor fight I added to the campaign. Used it as an excuse to go all out without the political fighting of the demon lord to distract each other.

Also a great time to gove my players magic items to fill out their kits in the late game for a moral boost the campaign seriously needs.

For context this is my 2nd time running the adventure and my players loved this addition to flex their skills!

33M 6'2 270pounds, shoulder, neck and head pain ever since incident

Im going to give as much context as possible without writing a bunch of paragraphs.

I have never had a migraine until about three years ago, for those that have had migraines you know its pretty debilitating and causes nausea and vomiting. I dont think its stress related because my job isnt any more stressful in the last few years then it has been at other places but who knows. Ever since I had my first migraine, I get them every sixish months, as long as I take some meds before it gets real bad I make it OK. The migraine is always on my right side if that matters.

Recently I had a real bad windstorm by my house, I "had" a shed on the side of my home that always tries to fly away when it gets windy, but this time was way worse. I came home for lunch to find the whole thing blown in and all my stuff inside trying to fly away. When the wind would gust the roof of the shed would threaten to rip off and fly god knows where. So I rushed into my house and grabbed my drill and I tried to hold the roof of the shed down while I took screws out, having to switch between both actions as the wind allowed me some respite to disassemble the shed and take my belongings inside while keeping it from flying away. This was an extremely stressful 20 or so minutes.

In the aftermath my right eye starting to look like it was swimming in water, a sure sign I was about to have another migraine, so I took some migraine meds and hit the road to get back to work. My adrenaline must have been wearing off at this time as I began to feel myself breakdown and become lethargic. The right side of my head/neck/shoulder became really sore and migraine like, so I called it a day and chose to go back home. I felt extremely weak and nauseous, I even threw up a couple times, but in a day or so I felt "generally" normal again.

I figured i got over it, and a week later I took my kids to the park and chased them around and wore myself out pushing them on this intricate swing mechanism that you can throw your whole body weight into to really get the kids going. However, after a few times of doing this, I felt my shoulder/neck/head begin to tense up on the right side again and I began to feel nauseous once more, having to lay down in the grass to try and recouperate. Now I've been gassed out from playing with my kids, but this wasn't normal for me to feel like this.

Fast forward to today, a few weeks, and now the soreness on my right side in my head/neck/shoulder area feels tense all the time. My right eye is always slightly watery, the base of my neck and shoulder are always tense, and the pain always lingering between a 1 to 3 on a 10 scale.

That's why I came here, I dont know how to fix this to get back to normal again. I dont have a GP because it takes 6 months to be told im OK and need to lose weight followed by an $800 bill i cant afford. I need some real honest help, im not sure a proffesional massage is the way to go or what. I just want to be able to play with my kids again.

Just got to Hell on my Barb

Hey guys, just got back into D2 recently due to boredom and I was looking for some tips.

I just recently grinded a new barb to Hell and finished Act1 and it has been quite a struggle. For context, I havent played in like 2 years or so, and I have a lvl 84 necro and 86 sorc that have both beaten Hell. I saved loot drops back when I played both for a possible barb in the future and here I am now.

Im mainly looking for tips on how to make my new journey on Barb easier for Hell (he is lvl 56 btw), im not to hip on the acronyms used in this sub so bear with me.

Gearing upgrades, farming spots, runewords to use, how best to abuse my other characters and tips are appreciated.

Connectivity Issues

Ever sense the last update I've been having issues playing when im not on WiFi. Like, ill have full bars 5g everything and the game just wont reconnect sometimes no matter what.

90% of the time im playing on WiFi so its a non issue, but if im wrapping a game up on a walk away from my house sometimes the game wont let me reconnect at all and ill auto lose in some cases even with more than 15 armor and 5+ people in lobby.

Anyone else experience this?

I've been seeing ALOT of discussion around monster kill times, gearing, and all around strategy, when it comes to hunt in monster hunter.

Something that is still boggling my mind, is when I see so many people on this sub saying they kill a 9☆ or 10☆ monster in like 10 minutes, and off handedly saying they could've gotten a better time if they didnt cart.

Now this would let be surprising from a speed runner, but I will see comments below saying things like, "Oh wow, I've gotten better times, but everyone starts somwhere." And things of that nature. Totally straight faces serious with a dozen up votes to back it up.

My question is, I have killed AT Ark as well as all the other 10☆ quests, and in LUCKY if I get near the 20 min mark, averaging around 25mins.

I play super aggressive, exclusively with Hammer, and i have a really good set of gear and Gog wep. Keep in mind, these hunt times are with few carts (usually...) and the only buffs coming from food, mighty demon/armor drinks, the might and armor charm and that's it. I am HR 170 and have been checking off all the event quests going down.

Is there something I am too dumb to understand here? Am I missing buffs I should've had this whole time? Should I just play LBG? I have to know lol.
