General's Personality Traits?

Does anyone have a list, or know where to find a list of all the New Personality traits added in the mod? (Traits like Career officer, Cautious, Reckless, new ones like Meticulous, and Caring leader, etc.)

I'm asking because there used to be a really good trait called "Decisive" or something like that or the other, only found in the mod, only on one of the CCP's Generals. It sped up Planning Speed by 50% or something but now i can't find it and honestly can't rightfully remember its name.

i want to use Console Commands to add the trait to one of my generals but i'd need the name of the trait for it to work. anyone know? does anyone know a path i can follow to look in R56's files and try to find it? i'm new to computers in general.

Why Didn’t the USA back Rhodesia?

The USA and Britain Adopted a more Anti-Colonial Stance During the Cold War, yet the USA was willing to turn a blind eye to more authoritarian and repressive regimes if they opposed communism, particularly in South America.

Rhodesia, Though repressive and authoritarian, was also anti-communist, and it was no secret that Hundreds of thousands of Zimbabwean insurgents were Aligned with the Communists, as well as the Support Zimbabwean Insurgents received from both China and the Soviet Union.

Why was Rhodesia treated differently? The USA is happy to Help other repressive regimes that thwart the communist’s interests, yet still remained steadfastly opposed to Rhodesia alongside Britain.

Why do drivers blue-ball the pickup?

Can any drivers help rationalize why a driver would accept my request for a ride, drive towards me for a couple minutes, then cancel?

I ordered this uber at 10:00 to take me 15 minutes from my house, and now it’s 10:45 and I’m on my 3rd driver who’s on his way because two others have cancelled. I HAD SOMEWHERE TO BE AT 11:00! Now I’m likely to be late because it took nearly an hour for someone to even show up!

I try to be understanding but I just don’t know the rationale behind that kind of thing

New Vegas Fans Gambling their credibility on Obsidians new fallout

I’m one of them :(

I’ve spent years quietly lurking the sub. absorbing the abuse and said nothing.

I let Todd Howard blow up everything I love in his new Amazon Vanity project, and said nothing.

I let him sell shitty versions of The Ranger armor on 76 and said nothing.

I’ve watched every single one of ‘Drawn Out’s videos Glazing obsidian and trashing on Bethesda.

Every now and again I’ll play new Vegas for a few minutes just to reminisce before getting off.

And now the day I’ve prayed for has finally come. The day all the doubters said would never come. A handful of OG fallout leads are coming to help on the project. Even Todd Howard may be getting off his fat ass to actually do some work on a game (maybe(minimal))

If this Fallout is another shitty Outer Worlds 2 equivalent release, I may just piss and shit all over the place :( I won’t know who I even am anymore. I won’t know whether the things I loved were ever really good. I won’t even know if my own Family is worthy of the love I’ve given them. My affinity towards everything would have to be reevaluated and my life may be turned upside down.

Please John sawyer, do this for us. Do it for me. We believe in you. I believe in you. Please 🤲

Afro Samurai - Are the Headbands Just a Cloth?

In Afro Samurai’s Universe, the number 1 and number 2 headbands have captured the fixation of people all over the lands Afro lives in.

However it’s never directly explained if the Headbands are actually special in any way besides proving that you’re the best.

In the first season/movie of the series, Justice says the headbands \*are\* magical and give him the powers of a god. He claims that by collecting number 2 headbands from anyone who challenges him over the years, he grows more powerful, as long as he’s vegetating in that “Holy place” he likes so much. He also claims Rokutaru (Afro’s Father) also believed this, but instead tried to conceal the truth by hiding in the mountains.

The Cult that pursued Afro also claimed the number 1 headband gave Godlike Power, although they were pretty weird. But still, maybe they know a thing or two.

Sounds fishy, but Justice obviously has some form of Godlike power, surviving for so long, and obviously, getting decapitated and laughing about it. And also his clear use of superpowers summoning large spikes out the ground to kill challengers.

Afro would get the headband from Justice, and go into Seclusion, rather than pondering on the nature of the headbands, and so we never see him do anything with this power Justice Claimed the headbands possessed.

Now MAYBE the Number 1 headband has something magical going on. But what about the number 2?

Nothing is clearly explained about the number 2 either. Shichigoro (Number 2 in Resurrection) Cynically claims that it’s just a piece of cloth. He might be right.

However, Afro’s Sword-master says something that I might be looking too deeply at. He says the number 2 only inspires violent insanity in everyone who wants the power of the number 1 headband.

Now I know this whole series is just a metaphor for the cycle of violence, and maybe this is more just a comment on how insane the cycle is. But…

Maybe this is also a literal statement as well. Maybe the Number 2 is actually cursed to inspire An almost Hypnotic Surge of Violent passion. Think on all who’ve learned of the number 2 headband.

Shichigoro’s son doesn’t mourn his father in a normal way, instead following Afro for Hundreds of miles trying to kill him. The dozens of people who fanatically try to kill Afro, pursuing him for years for revenge. The violent insanity that pushed Jinno’s Sister (can’t remember her name lol) to her Sadistic Bloodlust. Maybe even the Hate that Afro could never let go of for Justice, That he ended up getting his entire Sword Dojo killed, even killing his master that raised him from a boy.

It’s a show, it’s gonna be dramatic, but at a certain point, maybe the number 2 does have an unnatural effect on the worst tendencies of otherwise somewhat normal people.

It’s not explained in the lore. This is just my theory, and my interpretation of the series. I’m not saying the Hatred Afro Felt was unnatural and unwarranted, but he was so pained by his actions to get the number 2 that he went crazy (Hallucinating Ninja Ninja) that you’d think he would’ve thought twice about his actions before he got the headband.

Even after the first movie he secluded himself to meditate on this destructive cycle and remove himself from the violence. Then as soon as he loses the number 1 headband and wants it back, without a second thought he’s back to killing teams of people without remorse, all those years of reflection down the drain, back to the cycle of hate.

Even Afro’s Father. An android. Still desires the headbands. And once his father takes hold of the number 1, and Afro comes back to life, all this obsessive self destructive love for his father leaves his body, and he fights and kills his father without a second thought.

I’m not claiming any of this is canon, it’s just how I interpreted it. It’s a metaphor, but at the same time, I believe the headbands do have an unnatural effect on the mind, and makes people give in to violence more readily.

Anyone Tried Ragnarok?

As the title says, has anyone tried the NPC overhaul? it’s a new creation club mod, which I usually don’t bother with, but this one sounded interesting.

I don’t wanna sound like a paid advertiser so I won’t go into deep detail about it, but it’s a Enemy Overhaul mod that makes enemies more difficult and varied the randomness of encounters

It’s 5 bucks but is it worth it? I always love mods that make the game fresher, harder, and more engaging, but my go to has always been wildcat and a few mods that add small things like enemies using potions or some bandits spawning with spells, etc.

Has anyone tried it, and if so, how is it? Is it too much? Hardly noticeable? Rendered obsolete by better and free mods? Don’t wanna spend my money then feel like a dunce :(

One advantage for it I think, is that is covers more enemies. I can always download a Mage enemy overhaul, Draugr overhaul, or Bandit overhaul, etc. but those stack up and become too much after awhile as separate mods, it’d be good to have one that does it at a foundational level for all enemies.

As per the flair for the post, in case you missed it, I’m on Xbox. If there’s a hip, fresh, and cool kids version of a mod like this on PC, that’s way better and way more free, I can’t get it

Skyland AIO or Graphics Pack?

as said in title, these are two behemoths regarding all-in-one graphic mods. Skyland is newer, so I assumed it's better, but Graphics Pack is still the Most popular Graphics overhaul on console.

I hate hate hate hate going back and forth downloading mods and uninstalling them again and again and want to do my homework before starting a new modded playthrough. I cleaned house and did the misery inducing Bethesda net purge and don't want to download anything but the best, and most stable.

unrelated: any advice regarding lighting mods would help a ton! had a whole saga regarding trying to get Lux and Lux Orbis to work and am traumatized looking for patches!

The Ledger Is A Mercs Best Friend :)

Not sure if it was already mentioned, but the ledger is amazing for merc adventurers. it allows you to view all the wars in the world (I'm playing with a smaller map mod so the number is reduced here) which ensures you can find kings at war and fight them (to progress the Conqueror Decision), to find the biggest wars with the most bodies (to funnel losses into the lock-wagon money printing machine) and finding rulers who have the highest level of development in their realms (helps find higher paying contracts...or conquest prospects)

it's definitely made it easier to make money as a merc without looking around super hard for ongoing wars (sorry for so many parentheses' elaborations :( I don't know how to make my points without overexplaining, yet don't want my drawn-out rants to dilute my original message and so isolate them within parentheses. makes it cleaner. yet the longer the parentheses message is, the more it dilutes my original messages anyways :'() (<that was a frown, it's just that the closing parenthesis made it look like I'm yelling)

The Story around Plate armor doesn’t make sense

Medieval European Plate armor, is considered by many to be the apex in protection.

If you hear a Hema Practitioner tell it, a Trained man in plate is impervious to Swords, Arrows, Bolts, Maces, Hammers, Couched Spears, Early Firearms, The Wrath of God, etc.

The legends say the only way to defeat a man in plate, is to crawl on top of him with a knife (a special knife mind you) and stab him to death! Brilliant!

Now in a one on one, I’m sure the knife method works great. In a battle however? With organized Formations, And your brother in arms alongside you? I mean there’s just no way this fantasy of palming a knife in someone’s eye is plausible. Even the idea of only being able to hurt someone in the minimum gaps in their armor sounds ludicrous, and likely only practical in the hypothetical sense, and impossible when you consider the setting of a battle not giving room for focused precision like that. Especially not for part-time soldiers who likely don’t receive regular training. I just don’t see well Armored soldiers dying en masse in pitched battles.

A common retort to this is “well plate armor wasn’t widespread so this only applies to the high ranking knights and Nobles in an army!”. But by the 14th century, Plate armor in Europe was not the unobtainable commodity that it once was, and armies were becoming better equipped, whether it be a retinue Men at arms, or Hastily armed Levies and militias, lords were able to equip more and more soldiers with at least passable plate and mail, which still goes a long way in protecting someone’s body.

But let’s just say that’s how Medieval Warfare was fought. Not alot of Fatalities, but battles primarily being fought with the intent to rout armies and capturing prisoners in a pursuit.

But now we Look to the Ottomans

Nicopolis and Varna are just the most prominent examples of the ottomans wiping out entire armies. But just the fact that the ottomans were capable of standing up to European armies for hundreds of years is astonishing (if the plate armor myths are believed uncritically). Even Europeans empires at the height of their power, like The Austrian Hapsburgs or The Spanish Empire (not directly, but via smaller wars in North Africa following the reconquest) were going toe to toe with the ottomans, yet the ottomans didn’t have access to nearly the same quality or quantity of Plate armor as Western Europe did.

I just can’t picture a pitched battle between a European army (like Hungary, or France, or the HRE’s many powers) and the Ottomans, not ending in any other way than Victory for the Europeans if plate armor is so powerful.

Even the janissaries. Famous for their contribution to many of the ottoman’s victories, were not known to wear particularly heavy armor, and even before they became a Firearm focused force, they were still know to wear lighter Mail and segmented plates at best, rather than full plate. yet these were the most well trained and well disciplined force in the ottoman army, and were the sole cause of many ottoman Victories on the battlefield.

How? I mean the story just doesn’t add up. You have European armies becoming equipped with better and better armor, in greater and greater numbers, yet the Ottomans are able to repel crusades on the field of battle? Even figures like Saladin used more unconventional ways of wrangling heavy European Formations, or crusades breaking down over logistical challenges. If the only thing that can stop a man in armor is precise stabbing, (results vary depending on if they have additional layers) I’d reckon meeting a fully armored soldier in battle would be a nearly one sided affair. Yet in the latter half of the medieval age, the opposite is true. And even then, if plate armor was so useful, why wouldn’t more people equip themselves in it, despite the expense? Armies adopted guns quickly upon seeing its overwhelming advantages, expenses be damned, so why is full plate armor such a rarity outside of Europe

My only conclusion would be that plate armor was useful and helped alot to protect against more deadly blows. But specialized weapons like Maces, Hammers, And Axes worked just fine against armored soldiers. Yet the deeper you dive into learning about Plate armor, the more you hear about how it’s made of Vibranium and the usual suspects like maces and hammers are overrated in their effectiveness, and don’t do as much as you’d think. Or how half swording and the rondel were the only hope anyone had. Techniques like Mordhau might rattle someone but never do enough to kill them. It just doesn’t make sense. The whole story around Plate is a mix of Romanticism and sensationalism it seems

How to even begin

I got an injury when I was 16, hyperextended Knee falling off a ladder.

Was out of crutches by 17, some months later.

Never got surgery, just went from limping with a brace to Walking slowly with a compression Sleeve, to walking normally on my own, occasionally getting knee pain.

Now I’m 23. The injury hardly bothers me, unless I workout and land on my leg wrong, or hurt my leg. Then my knee feels like SHIT for a couple hours, maybe days. Most days I forget anything ever happened to my leg unless I start acting especially weird with it.

But now I’m trying to join the military. Have to get surgery.

As far as I can tell my injury can’t be that bad? I assumed I might need to just strengthen my knee. Surely it’d heal after 7, almost 8 years?

I’m meant to get an MRI, but I’ll be paying for that out of pocket. I can’t keep up with these bills if I have to get surgery so I’ll be a getting medical insurance for the first time too.

And it’s all just overwhelming. So much to do, so much money to spend.

Where do I start? Do I get a consultation first before I get an MRI, to determine if I even NEED an MRI? Do I get insurance first to cover everything Just in case? What insurers cover these kinds of things the best? Is there anything from now, to my potential reconstruction surgery that I should know, so I’m not blindsided later? Any help or guidance from people who’ve gone through this process before helps alot!

Is a Working leg necessary?

I’m trying to go to the military, but need to get my ACL reconstructed. Gonna be about 15k and so I’ll need insurance to cover most of that

However I’m seeing policies online claiming that an insurance company won’t cover a procedure unless it’s medically necessary.

So before I end up going on the tiresome search for reasonable quotes, is an ACL reconstruction even considered something health insurance would cover? Is it a matter of pulling teeth? Will they only cover it if I absolutely need it, rather than just because I “want” to join the military?

Grand Marshal Has Become A Pretty Good Marshal

Very Late, I Know, the change has settled and cooled by now

But i still miss the glory Days of the Chinese Grand Marshal :(

This Had to be the single most powerful council position in the game, in any empire, period. and for one simple reason: Grand Campaigns.

now when the AUH update dropped The GC was shit, only creating tributaries and glitching out the ass. then they fixed it, but i feel like it was too late, and i feel like no one appreciated how powerful it became.

if you Independently funded a Campaign, you could get an ass-ton of influence (You'd receive 1k Influence for each contribution, each campaign had at least 3 Contributions) which would help you reach imperious level after about 4 or 5 campaigns, and you'd get 100 movement power for each.

and an even better tidbit. the Campaigns Have NO COOLDOWN. if you've got the prestige and Treasury to support it, you can easily conquer entire empires.

influence becomes no object. you can fund a campaign then use influence to get fellow vassals to fight it With/For you, and your liege basically falls in love with you and will give you all the salary and treasury funding you could want and need. speaking of your liege falling in love with you, as a grand Marshal, it's no difficulty at all reaching max influence and receiving the Ministry honors that comes with it (and the Massive Salary and perks that comes with Honors bestowals).

The Changes made it to where the Grand Marshal can only fund the First Conquest and has to request other vassals to fund the other ones.

still a powerful position thanks to the No cooldown Campaigns, but they're just too expensive to start(in terms of prestige), with not enough PERSONAL reward to justify starting too many of them.

i don't think enough people care about China, but if the Grand Marshal has no fans, then I'm dead :(

I played about 3 or 4 Playthroughs with Bannerlord until I downloaded mods. Then played about 2 more, then deleted it.

Then war sails came out, I got excited to play it again with the mods I had. Then played about DLC however was said to be broken and a waste of time and money. Bummer.

Figured I’d wait for them to patch things up and for Mods to get updated. I’ve been waiting since then and am now getting the itch to play Bannerlord once again

Is it worth it? Is war sails still buggy and unplayable? Was it ever that bad and I just fell for propaganda? Do the devs still have the habit of constantly updating the game and wrecking all the mods?

Is it worth the abt 1 and a half hour of download time and 25 bucks it’ll cost me to re-experience the game with war sails? Or should I wait a while longer?
