Do you think there will ever be a red dial PanoMaticLunar?

I really like the PanoMaticLunar but don’t want to add another white/blue/green dial to my collection. I really like the grey/black dial but have seen other owners say they got tired of the black over time

I think a deep red/burgundy dial would look phenomenal on the PML. Thoughts?

GO PanoMaticLunar vs JLC Reverso Duoface Calendar?

I’m torn between which to get next. This will be my main watch for formal events and the office. I’m 25 and want to make sure the watch is age appropriate. I plan to get both but I’ll need to wait >=2 years between so looking for help deciding which to wait on and which to pull the trigger on

For reference, my collection is on pic 3- my favorites are a violet version of the GS Shunbun and a GS Sport GMT, so neither the GO nor the JLC will repeat a piece I already have

Thoughts on a white rubber strap for the SBGJ277?

Hello! I’ve been thinking about replacing the metal bracelet on my SBGJ277 with a curved white rubber strap with a micro adjust clasp. Has anyone tried a rubber strap on a GS sport collection before? Thoughts if so?

My first dressy build: Seiko Presage

Very happy with how this NH35 presage-inspired build turned out. All parts from AliX for $120 total, my least expensive build to date

[Grand Seiko] The limited 45 piece SBGA521

Pictured is the 45 piece limited edition ‘Sumire’ SBGA521, released to celebrate the reopening of the luxury floor at Hankyu Umeda Department Store in Osaka. Reservations opened at 10 a.m. JST on March 20, 2026. All pieces were claimed within seconds.

All reservations had to be physically claimed at the Osaka store between April 17-30. Private buyers in Japan were heavily favored as international purchasers had to travel to Japan to claim their reservation.

The piece pictured is 24/45.

Finally back from service! Hankyu Umeda LE SBGA521

I picked up the SBGA521 at the end of April and was disappointed to find a bunch of manufacturing marks on the crystal gasket within a couple weeks of purchase (pic 2). I sent the watch to the NJ service center in the middle of May and finally received it back today ~6 weeks later!

Overall happy with the turnaround time and service experience, but very surprised I had to report a QC issue so soon after purchase! I pushed for them to pay for my insured shipping and would recommend you do the same if you find a QC issue so soon after purchase. It took some pushing but ultimately saved me $130. Happy to have both my GS in hand again :)

Royal trifecta

I just finished the final addition to this Royal Oak inspired lineup. The gunmetal and steel are my own, and the rose gold was a commission for a friend

All three use NH35 movements and the Nomods 37mm v2 RO inspired case. I’ve been very impressed by the case’s quality. All three also use dials from Namoki (red sakura on the gunmetal, white birch on the steel, and black birch on the rose gold)

These have been excellent starter builds as I’ve gotten into modding. Alongside these, I’ve made a VK63 Daytona style and an NH34 diver. Looking forward to branching out further with upcoming builds!

[Citizen PMD56-2951] My first atomic and first solar watch!

I’m loving this watch that I received on Friday and the FKM sailcloth-pattern strap that arrived today!

I recently bought my first luxury watches and realized my collection is all either 1. Too nice to wear to the beach, or 2. Not durable enough to wear to the beach

I decided I wanted a lightweight, unpolished field watch with a dark green dial. Quite a hard thing to find. I looked at Hamilton but didn’t like that the Khaki Field doesn’t have a screw down crown. My search eventually took me to the PMD56-2951, which I love for a few reasons:

  1. Meets my style criteria—totally unpolished, durable, dark green dial, very legible, great lume
  2. 200m WR with screw down crown
  3. Japanese domestic model, so pretty uncommon in the US
  4. Perpetual calendar
  5. Solar powered, so I never have to worry about battery changes or keeping it wound
  6. Atomic clock! Super cool and highly accurate. Because this watch is a Japanese domestic model, it does not work with US radio towers lol. But the Clock Wave app on my phone got it displaying the right time in a few minutes

The watch has only gained 1 second in 3 days, so I will probably need to reset the atomic 3-4 times a year. It takes a few minutes and is satisfying to watch so I don’t mind

Overall, loving this piece. Highly recommend!

Likelihood of this crystal defect being repaired under warranty?

Hi all, you might’ve seen me post these pics a few weeks ago, so apologies for the spam. Immediately after purchasing my new grand seiko, I noticed strange markings around the edge of the crystal. I contacted GS support to document the issue and they recommended I send the watch immediately to the NJ service center instead of waiting until later in the warranty period

I sent the watch a few weeks ago and received confirmation of receipt but haven’t yet gotten a timeline or repair quote. I called today to check in, and the support associate said she thinks they’re figuring out if it can be repaired under warranty because it’s crystal damage. The limited warranty text online only says that wear and tear caused by use is not covered, so this was confusing to me

So my question is, for anyone who has experience with GS servicing/warranty claims, do you think the support associate was just being conservative or is there a chance this defect won’t be covered by warranty?

Thanks so much!

Night & day combo - Royal Sakura & Royal Birch

These are my 2nd (white dial) and 4th (red dial) mods, I just finished the red dial today and am super happy with how they look together

Cases are the nomods 37mm royal oak in stainless and gunmetal. Dials are both from Namoki. I got custom rotors with my ‘logo’ and a name for each watch (Royal Sakura for the red dial and Royal Birch for the white dial)

Excited to add more to the collection :)

I got my first watch on my 16th birthday, the Tag Heuer 4000 series. On my 18th birthday, I got the Formula 1 chrono. I’ve since bought and built a few fun pieces—the Timex Noah tank, the modded Moonswatch Pluto in a metal case, the Mr Jones Perfectly Useless Afternoon, and 2 self builds on the bottom right

I recently went on a trip to Japan for my 25th bday and came home with the limited edition SBGA521 and the SBGJ277 in the top left. Loving both of these watches and very glad I waited 7 years to add another major watch to my collection so I could really go big

Next items on my list are the GO PanoMaticLunar, a Reverso duoface moonphase, and a VC overseas. Planning to wait a good 3-4 years until acquiring my next piece!

I’ve amassed a few over the last 9 years. Some random beaters I bought at 17/18 aren’t pictured. I plan to find new homes for those soon

I’ve been planning a mid-20s milestone piece since I was 18 and recently settled on the two GS at top left. Next on my list are a GO PanoMaticLunar black dial, a JLC reverso duoface moonphase, and a VC overseas. But who knows how my taste will change between now and then!

From top left to bottom right:

  1. Grand Seiko SBGA521 Sumire. I bought this watch last week on my 25th birthday; it was a 45 watch LE sold exclusively at Hankyu Umeda in Osaka. It’s basically a violet shunbun with a blue PR and chapter ring and a gold seconds hand. I can’t stop looking at it

  2. Grand Seiko SBGJ277 Sekkei. Also bought last week in Japan. I’ve wanted a GMT since I moved to the US as a teen and am excited to finally add one to my collection, a hi-beat no less! :)

  3. Tag Heuer Formula 1 chronograph. I got this for my 18th birthday and love the functionality and durability of this watch. It was a great gift and will continue to serve me well for decades to come

  4. Tag Heuer 4000 Series. My most meaningful watch. My dad bought this when he passed his CPA and told me when I was 5 that I’d receive it for my 16th birthday. I looked forward to that for the next decade. I love this watch and how subtle it is

  5. Timex x Noah tank. A fashion watch without any real horological background, but I love it

  6. Recased Moonswatch Pluto. I got tired of the plastic crystal so decided to rehome into a steel case with a sapphire crystal and a leather strap. I love it now

  7. Mr Jones A Perfectly Useless Afternoon. This is my Friday watch. Really fun piece

  8. Timex Expeditioner. My first beater

  9. Self-built NH35 mod inspired by the Grand Seiko White Birch and the AP Royal Oak. I’m about to make a companion piece with a gunmetal case and dark red dial

  10. Self-built skeletonized watch. This was my first build and was honestly just an amalgamation of random pieces that don’t look very good together. I don’t ever wear this watch but will keep it since it was my first ever build
