How would you rank the characters in terms of potential and what do you think is the highest level they could achieve?

Here's how I would rank them. I've ordered them in tiers. The characters in each tier are roughly ordered from top to bottom, but you shouldn't take it too seriously.

SSR:

Lefiya Level 9-10
Ais Level 9-10
Ryuu Level 9-10
Ottar Level 9-10
Leon Level 9-10

SR:

Bete Level 8-9
Allen Level 8-9
Hedin Level 8-9
Hogni Level 8-9

R:

Bell Level 7-8
Finn Level 7-8
Gareth Level 7-8
Riveria Level 7-8
Tiona Level 7-8
Tione Level 7-8

The rest of the adventurers are in lower tiers in my opinion and wouldn't ever reach a level above 7 and I don't want to rank them.

Milim's sheer potential is crazy if you think about it.

Not only is Milim the only combatant in the entire series who didn't even receive a single powerup, when others like Zegion received tons, but she also never trained to get any stronger. She's still at the same level she was millennia ago, which shows how insanely high her base level actually is. Characters like Diablo, Zegion and Feldway all needed countless asspulls to get close to her level, while she is just built like that.

Now imagine if Milim actually took training seriously or if she got any powerups on her own. She would become absolutely unstoppable and only Rimuru could actually beat her at this point.

Do you think Hara is sidelining the Great Generals (minus Riboku) in this arc on purpose?

In the current arc three of the four participating Great Generals are currently sidelined. Yotanwa is injured and can't really do anything right now. Ousen and Shibashou are on stalling duty and neither of them seems to be doing anything either. The only Great General that is active is Riboku and I think that's on purpose.

I think that Hara wants to focus on the young generation right now and wants to give them major achievements in this arc, which is why the Great Generals are currently out of the picture. They should get more important roles later on in this arc though. What do you guys think?

I know that you might want to say that Rosario + Vampire is a battle harem with sexualised female characters, but that honestly doesn't matter, because the female character writing in this series is still leagues ahead of the female character writing in Shounen Jump slop. If you compare it with Jujutsu Kaisen for example then you quickly realize that the female cast of Rosario + Vampire blows it completely out of the water.

Not only is the female cast in this series way larger than the male cast, but it's individual characters are also greatly written and utilized. Every single major female character has their own character arc with conflicts, motivations and growth and they all contribute majorly to the story from start to finish. This is especially true in Season II were the story got more dramatic and action-heavy.

This is also the case with the antagonists and villains of this series as well. Akua Shuzen for example is one of my favourite characters in Rosario + Vampire and her character development, powers, dynamics and fights are all amazing. Kahlua and Gyokuro are really good too.

That's the reason why most of my favourite characters in this series are female characters. My personal top 5 are:

  1. Kurumu Kurono
  2. Akua Shuzen
  3. Moka Akashiya
  4. Tsukune Aono
  5. Ruby Tojo

Outside of the male lead Tsukune, all of the other characters are girls. That's not because the male characters are bad or anything. I really like Tsukune a lot actually. The female characters are just superior in my opinion and kinda carry the series actually. If you want a shounen manga with a strong female cast then I can't recommend Rosario + Vampire enough.

I would put both of them at around the same level.

I think Shiryou would win in a duel though, as she simply has more impressive feats . For example, she killed Shibashou's strongest vassal, Jiaga, with a broken arm after fighting both him and Kansaro at the same time, which is a truly insane feat, beyond any of Akou's imo.

Let's recap what happened to her:

  • The Rudra familia tries to murder Ryuu and everyone she cares about.
  • Their failed trap unleashes a monster that turns everyone into minced meat.
  • Ryuu is the only survivor; alone, abandoned, and nobody gives a shit about her.
  • Her very goddess just leaves instead of trying to help her last "child".
  • Neither the guild nor any other gods give a shit or even try to do anything about those responsible.
  • She wiped out an objectively evil familia full of human trash of the sociopathic god Rudra.
  • For some reason that's considered immoral and the Guild places a bounty on her, because wanting to avenge your familia and correct the grave injustice is considered "despicable", which is something even Ryuu herself seems to think.

I really hate this type of cliche writing so damn much. It's not deep, it's not interesting. It's another variant of "if you kill them, you'll become just like them". It's not only nonsensical in Ryuu's case, but there is not one single reason for Ryuu to not be fully justified in her actions.
She might lament that she was reckless in her actions and gambled with her life which her familia tried to save, but she would never lament that what she did was despicable. The world is objectively better if she did her purge. Anyone who says otherwise should blame the guild and the other gods for giving no firm response to the incident and letting the other familia get off without any real consequences.

I guarantee you that if something like that happened to Bell, he'd become anime Kratos as he's far more emotional than Ryuu is, but because it's Ryuu she needed a sad backstory with a PTSD.
