Why are so many people complaining that Shin doesn't have children yet, when this is actually really common with generals in Kingdom?

If you look at the generals and great generals you will soon realize that many of them don't have any children or even a confirmed partner. Here's a list of generals and great generals where we know for certain that they don't have any children:

  • Shin
  • Mouten
  • Ouki
  • Tou
  • Riboku
  • Yotanwa
  • Kanki
  • Heki
  • Duke Hyou
  • Earl Shi

Then there are ones where we don't know for sure, but I believe that they don't have any children either:

  • Renpa
  • Karin
  • Gohoumei
  • Shibashou
  • Shunsuiju
  • and many others

As you can see, Shin is hardly unique in focusing on battle and other things instead of founding a family with Kyoukai. If anything, those who do that seem to be the exception here.

It's really impressive how Mirko was able to become a top hero with a mediocre quirk like Rabbit. That honestly makes me respect her a lot more than heroes who needed top tier quirks to achieve the same. Do you guys agree?

Hot Take (I guess): Shion is one the best characters in all of Tensura in terms of character development and needs to be appreciated more.

One Piece World Popularity Poll Results 1001-1567 Place

No we know one thing for certain. The officially least popular character in all of One Piece is ... Minoruba!!! That deserves a round of applause, everyone!

Apparently these are the 12 most popular characters of Tensura. What are your thoughts on this lineup and is there anything you would like to change?

Were the three demonesses really that strong before they were named?

I honestly think that they were not all that before they got their bodies for one simple reason: The powerscaling in Tensura is all out of whack. In this story the age, status and experience of the characters don't really matter all that much. The only thing that matters is if you are either on Rimuru's side or on the main villain's side. If you are on either side then you get all the powerups you want while the rest is simply stagnating for millennia (i. e. the true dragons, Milim, the Primordials, etc.).

That's why characters who are supposed to be very, very powerful aren't actually all that and the same should be true for the primordial demons as well. I don't really think that the three demonesses are crazy powerful and I actually believe that they were weaker than Benimaru, Shion, Yuuki and Hinata before they were named and that they would be handily defeated by all of them.

Their servants should be even less impressive and would probably lose against the likes of Gabiru, Geld and Hakuro. In other words, Tempest would be able to deal with the unnamed primordial ladies even without Rimuru and Veldora's help. That's what I believe at least.

Why are so many people acting like female protagonists wouldn't work for male audiences when that clearly isn't the case?

Even if you want to claim otherwise, good female protagonists can and do work out really well with any audience and they can be just as popular and beloved as their male counterparts if not more so. Just look at the examples I've provided:

Sousou no Frieren is literally the most popular and most highly rated shounen series of this decade and it's not even close. Frieren herself might also be the most iconic animanga character that was introduced in this decade and her popularity with every type of audience speaks for itself.

The Apothecary Diaries though it's not a battle series is also immensely popular with male audiences. It also happens to be one of the most successful light novel titles ever made. Just like Frieren, Maomao is a huge hit with any type of audience

Umamusume has proven itself to be a super successful franchise with multiple anime and manga adaptations of which all of them have been massively successful. Umamusume: Cinderella Gray in particular is one of the highest rated sports series of all time and pretty much everyone loves Oguri Cap as a character and as a protagonist.

All of these examples are just from the last few years, but I think that they clearly show that good female protagonists are actually a good thing and there really is no excuse for Shounen Jump or any other magazine to dismiss them, because the editors assume that they might not be popular with the young male readership, which is clearly BS.

I really like how Tempest is always evolving over time. Just look how far the meetings have upgraded from the prior season.

Are Riboku or any other Zhao general for that matter even popular in Japan?

I know that Riboku and his people aren't popular here, that's for sure, but how are they viewed in Japan?

I know that Qin was absolutely dominating in the official popularity poll back in 2020. Riboku reached a mediocre 18th spot, which didn't even make him the second most popular character of Zhao at the time. Rinko (15th) and Shika (17th) were both more popular than him. The other Zhao guys didn't make the top 20, so they sure weren't really popular in Japan either back then. How did the situation change since then? I assume that Riboku and his guys should be even less popular in Japan these days and I don't think he would make the top 20 if a popularity poll was happening right now.

Btw, Yotanwa, Kanki and Tou are absolutely mogging Ousen and Moubu in terms of popularity in Japan. That makes me pretty happy, because I also vastly prefer them to Ousen and Moubu and I'm glad that most people at least in Japan think like me in this regard.

Why is Karyo Ten getting so much hate and not Ousen or Shouheikun?

I hate to say this, but like I'm starting to feel like Karyo Ten only gets hate from y'all cause she's a girl or something. She does her job well enough. When Riboku gets his plot powers and decimates Qin forces why are none of you guys shitting on Ousen and Shouheikun? Instead, you are saying Goatsen and Goatheikun. These MFS have dedicated their lives to warfare long before Kyoukai was even born, and they both failed miserably in a worse way than Ten, but no SHE'S useless LOL. Aight bro LOL. Ten is borderline middle management, she delegates where the Hi Shin Unit members should be and multiple times her and all the other smart mfs in the series are agreeing on what should be done, but somehow, she's slow and useless?????????

It's either what I said earlier or y'all truly lack even the bare minimum reading comprehension skills to enjoy Kingdom, tbh.

Am I the only one who thinks that Me & Roboco will end soon?

By soon I mean at chapter 300, which Me & Roboco should reach in a few months. I have two reasons why I think that’s the case. Firstly, the author mentioned recently that he wants to reach 30 volumes, which in the case of Me & Roboco would equate to around 300 chapters, since the chapters of this manga are shorter than usual.

The other reason is, that I don't think that editorial wants to keep Me & Roboco around for much longer. There really isn’t any reason for it to stay around for much longer. The sales of Me & Roboco are frankly abysmal for any series of its length, in fact Me & Roboco is by far the least successful WSJ series with 25+ volumes in the entire history of the magazine. It also doesn't have any potential for growth or recovery anymore, since the anime came and went with no hope for a sequel and even the movie was a huge bomb in the box office.

All things considered, reaching 300 chapters and 30 volumes would be a huge milestone for a series like Me & Roboco anyway. In the entire history of Weekly Shonen Jump only 25 series have reached this milestone. Me & Roboco is pretty up there in terms of chapter count already. It has already surpassed Jujutsu Kaisen and Slam Dunk in terms of chapter count and soon it will even beat Shaman King and Sket Dance. Should Me & Roboco end at chapter 300 it would be on the 26th position in terms of chapter count, above The Gutsy Frog with 296 chapters and below Charge!! Men's School with 313 chapters. I think that's a good position to end on. What do you guys think?

Hot Take

Bell is the biggest problem of the story.

Let me explain:

It's because of Bell that so many characters like Ryuu or Hestia get flanderized and that happens for one reason - plot. Most characters will eventually be reduced to what favours Bell like for example Wiene being revived or Ryuu joining the Hestia familia. Hestia and Freya are also Bell's victims in this regard. Ais will also get reduced to a girl for Bell to save, so he can be the hero. I'm sure of that.

His powers are also a huge issue to me. Think about it, we have 5 basic stats which help us categorizing the adventurers in power-. magic- or speed-based ones. However, with Bell we might as well have 2 basic stats: physical and magical. There's also the fact that Long Chant Magic is supposed to be stronger than Short Chant Magic. However, even high level 4 Ryuu with Skill and Long Chant Magic could not overcome 1 level. Yet we have a new level 2 Bell one shot a level 5 Goliath overcoming 3 levels! We also had level 3 Bell fight against level 6+ Asterius as well. Sure, we might try to rationalize these feats with Limit Off or Asterius being weakened. But honestly, if anybody else did it regardless of the reason, we would have called out how bad it is.

Now most important characters are getting ridiculous level+ boosts simply because the story has a time limit of 1 year because of Bell's Liaris Freese. Bell isn't entirely to blame for this however, since the Zeus and Hera familias with their level 8 & 9 adventurers messed the scaling up quite badly as well. We used to have a universe where level 5 was considered a peak that outside of Orario was nearly impossible to reach. We only had two level 7s. But everything went south because of Bell, the Zeus- and the Hera familias.

Everyone has to get significantly stronger during this ridiculously small time period. We can't even properly explore the Danmachi world and its dungeon in the main series because of this stupid time limit. We didn't get to explore the Xenos and the other creatures much or why people outside of Orario react to monsters differently. Now Bell who barely has any life experience and who hasn't even explored a fraction of the world has to become the hero who saves the entire world just because of a crush. I find that really lame.

Without Bell Freya, Hestia, Wiene, Haruhime, Bete, Ryuu and Finn would have been far better characters and that's why I don't want other characters interacting with him much, because most characters who do are likely to be doomed for his development.

Which type of general or great general do you prefer, the ones who tend to stay behind the lines or the ones who actively engage in combat?

Do you prefer generals and great generals who tend to stay behind the lines or at headquarters devising strategies and letting their subordinates execute them like for example Ousen, Riboku, Gohoumei, Karin, Shunsuiju, Kochou and Kanki to an extent? Or do you prefer the type that actively engages in combat themselves like for example Moubu, Yotanwa, Tou, Renpa, Duke Hyou, Shin, Ouhon or Shibashou?

Personally I prefer the latter, because they are more entertaining to me and they tend to have a higher winrate.
