How come I can't use my eggs to make Kibble?

I have a Fetilized and non-Fertilized Morellatoos egg and a wild found Pteranodon egg. Neither count to make Kibble.

Clearing those Moonflower bases are pretty tough.

I've been cruising along pretty well. I have exp set to .3.

I'm level 64 and my pals are late 50s almost 60. I haven't really run into anything super challenging yet, but this island changed that. Those Moonflower bases are tough; the enemies love to dash around and they summon pals who are able to sit inside of the base and nuke you safely with endless AOE attacks.

I'm looking forward to leveling up and coming back with better gear and stronger pals.

Looking for beginner's tips and how to effectively build early game defenses.

Looking to get started coming from Stranded Alien Dawn I'm afraid of raids. Walls right now seem very expensive to build around my settlement, so I'm not sure how enemy pathing works and how to manage enemies.

Is this because of downstaters?

They are always threatening to move, but ultimately don't, unfortunately.

Or is it because our property taxes are so high?

For the record I love living here and while my property taxes are high it's worth the benefits.

EDIT Link to original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/s/PwRPbdZ38J

The source says Gallup for what it's worth.

I don't know if I'm getting downvoted by fellow liberal Illinoisians who are defensive about this or from triggered Republicans, but it's pretty wild lol.

EDIT 2 Since some of my fellow Illinoisians seem to be a bit defensive over the results, I found an old poll on Gallup where we did better: https://news.gallup.com/poll/168653/montanans-alaskans-say-states-among-top-places-live.aspx

Found this guy and saved them from our cats.

So my cats were jumping at the window and we looked and saw a poor little jumping spider hiding at the top. We grabbed a cup and saved her.

We were going to release her somewhere else inside but the cats would hunt her down and she was happy in the cup.

So we got a jumping spider tank and fed her a fly we caught inside which she quickly, and to our delight, devoured. She was very curious watching us get it into her tank.

So our neighbor has some reptiles and gave us a cricket. The cricket was a little bigger than she is, so we wanted to be careful. We put it in and watched carefully, after about an hour she climbed down and got the cricket!

So I guess we have a pet jumping spider now? How can we tell how old or the sex?

We felt bad keeping a wild creature as a pet, but she's missing a front leg and figured the cats or something else wouldn't get her.

She's a bit skittish, though very curious about us and watches us when we look at the tank. I told my wife it probably doesn't want to be held ever and if it's old, it's less likely to adapt to being held anyway. Is that typically true?

If I have two jobs at 50% and one can't be completed because there is a lack of resources, will they shift the other job to 100%?

If I have two jobs at 50% and one can't be completed because there is a lack of resources, will they shift the other job to 100% or will they only apply 50% effort despite not being able to work the other job at all?

One keeps trying to do marijuana and it makes her sick.

Hi!

My wife (she's 42) has been wanting to try Marijuana for years now. She's dabbled in small gummy doses and it's always resulted in her just not feeling great.

Anyway, it's been years and she tried one gummy. She thought it was 5mg but it was actually 10mg. Within an hour she started feeling dizzy, then vertigo which resulted in her vomiting.

She knows nothing about the differences between sativa and other types.

Should she give up? Is there a version of this that doesn't induce dizziness? For reference I tried 2 and I'm high, movement feels weird, typing isn't easy, but It's not overtly dizzy inducing tp myself.

I can't post pics apparently, so the brand was the Incredibles Strahhhberry 100mg CBD 100mg THC. 10 gummies in a pack.

Moving Hoard Base; Desert, Snow or Wasteland.

I currently have my horde base in the forest. It's near but it's not my main base, in the event it's overrun. I wanted to move it to a harder biome to capture some of that better loot.

In the Desert Biome the Bee Zombies don't seem bad for a horde base the bees don't seem to do a lot of structure damage.

I wanted to move it to the snow, but I'm thinking the Snow Chucks will absolutely demolish my base from afar as I fight the relentless blood moon horde.

Finally the Wasteland. The demo zombies can be a problem but I've been able to manage them in the past. The difficulty is definitely stepped up here though.

I don't think I can handle my third bloodmoon in the Wasteland on this play though though. So I really wanted to move to the snow, but those Chucks are annoying even where there is not a Blood Moon.

What do you recommend? Folks who've built their Blood Moon base in the snow Biome were the chucks as much of a pain as I'd thought they be during the blood moon night?

How the heck do I deal with the Crimson Plague?

One of my cities found a unique building and it said a 1% chance to get a plague. So I left it.

Next turn I got the plague.

15 turns later my army is gone, all my cities are infected and probably the 30 cities around me, if a plague goes away it gets reinfected next turn anyway.

Is this run over?

How is 7 Days to Die still in early access 13 years later with over 20,000,000 units sold?

EDIT: Okay the game was released 2 years ago. The fact that it doesn't feel like it speaks volumes.

Some off the cuff math here to try and unspool this.

Okay so 7 Days to Die has sold over 20,000,000 copies! The SRP has fluctuated between $25 up to $45.

Lets assume their take on sales averaged $5 per copy, accounting for platform fees and the fact that the game probably sold more at $25 than it did at $45.

So that brings revenue of $100,000,000 over it's lifetime sales. This is revenue mind you, not profit. Not including whatever revenue the skin DLC brough in, which software development wise is much more profitable generally than sales of the game itself.

Their team size is now 70 people I've read. Which is mind boggling to think of given the pace of development, but even a team of 20 people for a game like this would suffice.

Now let's pretend they had 70 employees the entire development period (We all know they didn't and started vastly smaller but this keeps the math sinple and in their favor) and let's also say the pay averages out to about $70,000 a year per employee. (It doesn't, video game development doesn't pay much better until you start hitting senior level or leadership) That's $4,900,000 of employee operating costs a year. That number will be higher because of employee contributions, health insurance etc but we'll roll that up into the $70,000 and assume the employees gross is $60,000. At that rate 13 years of development would cost about $64,000,000.

Back when I worked at Obsidian over a decade ago, we had a little over 110 people and that was divided up into multiple teams on multiple projects simultaneously.

The game released in "2013" I think, which gives it a development cycle of 13 years, which is pretty crazy when I think about it. A game with a development cycle that large.

How is the game in the state it's in, with a glacial release cycle but massive sales? I hate to dunk on developers. It's a thankless job, with long hours and pay that doesn't match (and I was living and working in Irvine). But seriously, even if my math is way off and their revenue was $2.50 per copy it still doesn't make sense. I'm an ex video game developer and a business owner, so I know a bit about how the sausage is made and rhe costs.

I've seen smaller, more complex games with smaller teams do more with less and faster too.

All of this because I care, I adore this game. There is no other game like this, which is why we are all here. If I didn't care I wouldn't play and wouldn't waste my time wondering how the heck the game is still early access and with the lifetime success it's achieved. The game is good, I've sunk a ton of hours into it, but it's short of greatness and that's the frustrating part. Here we are back with Jars; Which took a few years to get back to.

I'm not expecting an answer, this is a speculative rant; I only pop up every couple years to play and check on the progress (which absolutely floors me how little has been made and how old things were cut and then reintroduced) but after a few weeks of sessions as you get into late game the magic starts to fall apart and drift off to play other games. Maybe someone who's a lifer has more insight than I do here.

Saving for something. Not sure what yet.

I saved up a ton and bought my son a Series X a couple of years ago. I'll occasionally buy a game with my points; bought a couple of controllers but really haven't seen anything cool to blow the points on. Do they every have anything cool or exclusive to spend points on?

Also the Xbox Mastercard is bad ass. Set it to auto pay off every month and buy your games through the card (also get points for putting streaming services on the card as well) and you'll be swimming in points. Do not use it as a credit card, you'll negate any points you'd got from interest.

Any POIs in Pine Forest make for good bases?

I remember having this pretty cool survival bunker I found as a POI. It was underground and was exactly what I was looking for. Would love to find it again or something similar.

Definitely open to other interesting base locations, if they need some renovations that's not bad either.

Wife says it's fine. It's a 75 Inch TV and we sit about 8 feet away. Video is taken right from eye level and at that distance as well.

My fear is that if I mount it, then it will be too high and I'll have to come back to this sub with my shame.
