Helicopters on Frigates

When I look at new frigates, they have very large hangers an deck space for helicopters. This may be a naive question but are they really worth? Would more and more missile tubes be a better usage. A ship with 32 tubes will be out of missiles in a flash in a peer war or even a near peer or an asymmetric foe. The copter is for antisub work but how important is that unless one plans to fight China or Russia. The tubes can carry antisub missiles. The copter can carry shorter range missiles for small boats but attacking a large naval vessel would see foolish. Sure, deliver supplies, move personnel - I get that.

We need a Culver's?

Tried a ShakeShack. Very expensive for a small burger and shake. Staff was very pleasant though.

Used to live near a Culver's. Much better value, plus they had some decent dinners and pork tenderloin. Wish they would spread here.

Value for the Price

A location opened near me, so I tried it. My evaluation is that the burger is tasty but too small for the price, same with the shake - too expensive. The staff were very pleasant, young people. However, the local dive bar has a much bigger and equally tasty burger with lots of lettuce, tomato and a nice slice of onion. Price point is similar and you can get a good local beer.

I guess the place attracts young people as that was most of the folks there. Is the price worth the significant increment over a crappy BK or McD, I don't think so for a burger that size. The local stores do better.

Bran flakes

What happened to 365 Bran Flakes? They've disappeared. Amazon's site has some old stale ones. WF drops their own items, as for example - their Lemon-Lime soda. But they have Cheerios - huh?

As an aside, WF is the only big market around here that had a good number of sullen and outright rude check out and baggers. It's 50/50. The other stores have polite and friendly folks. Not a smile or even offering to help old folks by putting heavy bags in the cart or picking up one of those heavy soda packs. Not all, many are nice but they do have a significant number of rude ones. The floor personnel are helpful in finding things and answering questions.

BluZu

>From the award winning blue cheese line from Rogue. Each wheel is soaked in yuzu-infused sake, then decorated with yuzu peel to create an unusual flavor combination that highlights Rogue's signature blue cheese in a nuanced and inventive way

Very nice and a touch of unique flavor. Rogue blues are one of my go to cheeses. This morning, made a nice breakfast. Toasted a bagel - one half put BluZu, the other half was some 24 Month Prosciutto di Parma. Glass of OJ and the way I make coffee. Some coffee and a teaspoon of dark cocoa powder and a touch of brown sugar to end the meal. Bagel isn't classic but I like toasted bagels. Read something with the coffee/cocoa. Shoued up at Wegman's - they do a good job supplying the Rogue cheeses.

Have some Beehive Seahive (rubbed with wildfire honey and ancient salt) Utah cheddar to try when the BluZu is gone. See what that is like.

Wegman's Professor's Brie

Had it before. Bought is again. A pleasant mild soft ripened cheese with a little blueberry jam and a whole wheat muffin.

Shaheed swarms in various wars.

Let's say we have a modern task force of a Nimitz class carrier, a Tico and two Burkes. Or we have an Essex, an Iowa, a Cleveland and 3 Fletchers (all these have end of WWII AA armament).

A 200 Shaheed swarm is detected 3 miles out. Both carriers have CAPs in the air. Who does better - the goal is mission kill of the carriers.

I like the cute dogs. But then they show some dry pellets and say is this turkey as compared to a tube of something vile looking and say that looks like turkey? Huh, no turkey I've ever seen. Dog food aimed at people, same old story. Dog don't care.

We are older folks. We have a nice table right by the front door and most drivers put the packages on the table if they would fit. The other day, we had a small package and the driver just dumps it on the edge of the porch. He takes a picture. He could have taking three steps to put in on the table. Yeah, seconds count but he is a not a nice person. So with bad legs, I to go get it. Bah. Sorry, you have a crap job.
