The Semi Sends Concrete Barrier into oncoming traffic in I-84 near Rooster Rock in Columbia Gorge on January 15, 2021

CORBETT, Ore. – A crash involving several semi trucks has Interstate 84 blocked Friday near Rooster Rock at the west end of the Columbia River Gorge.

There were no reports of injuries from the crash, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash was reported after 9 a.m. near Rooster Rock, which is at about milepost 24.

Initial reports say it involved at least three different trucks.

After closing the interstate in both directions, the Oregon Department of Transportation said around noon that it had one eastbound lane back open, and westbound drivers were getting by the crash on the road's shoulder.

Another traffic accident involving injuries and a fatality occurred on February 13. Around 8:00 a.m. in the Zherdevsky District on the R-22 "Caspian" highway, three vehicles—two trucks and a passenger car—collided.

According to preliminary reports, one of the trucks crossed into oncoming traffic. As a result, the two trucks and the Hyundai Solaris collided.

"One fatality is currently known—the driver of one of the trucks. Four of the injured in this accident were taken to hospitals in the region. Both the deceased and the injured were residents of other regions," the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

a Ford Focus Collided Another Ford Focus in the Gagarinsky District, Russia on July 22, 2019

As a reminder, on July 22 at approximately 5:40 PM, a horrific accident involving two Ford Focuses occurred on the Gagarin-Polichnya highway, resulting in the death of a woman at the scene.

The regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that a criminal case has been opened under the article "Violation of Traffic Regulations and Vehicle Operation."

During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the 25-year-old driver of the Ford Focus, license plate H 498 MU 32, was driving through the Gagarinsky District toward the city of Gagarin when the accident occurred with another Ford Focus. The oncoming car, license plate K 318 SK 178, was driven by a man born in 1949 and was traveling toward the village of Polichnya.

As a result of the accident, a 65-year-old woman, a passenger in the second Ford Focus with license plate K 318 SK 178, died at the scene. The driver of that vehicle sustained serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the first vehicle, a 25-year-old woman, also sustained serious injuries.
