Cot bed
Any recommendations for a cot bed? There are so many choices. I just want to make sure whatever I buy it will last. I dont know what to go for. Are the cheaper ones no good or it doesn't really make a difference? Thanks

I have a 5 month old baby. She is the first grandchild on both sides of the family. You can imagine how much she is loved and fussed over especially by her Nanas.
I have been thinking when I return to work who will be minding her. I am lucky that I dont plan on returning until January of next year. My mother has kindly offered to mind her one day a week.
The problem is my mother is very over weight and I worry she wouldn't be able to mind my child. I've seen her deteriorating over the years due to her physical health. The older she's getting the harder it is for her.
I've observed what she's like with baby when she's at my house. Tbh at times I feel I'm looking after two children. My mother would literally sit there the entire time while I'm running around like a headless chicken. If she's holding baby and baby's fussing cause she wants to be walked around she'd sooner call me. I dont think⁸ she can stand up while holding her at same time anyway. Also I notice she gets so distracted by the telly it wouldn't matter what my baby is doing she wouldn't turn ger head.
I don't want to hurt her feelings by saying no to her minding her but I would be very concerned about leaving her with my mother.
My partners mother is the complete opposite and well able to mind her. Gets down on the floor to play with her. I could leave the baby with her while I have errands to run without worry. My partners mother has also offered to mind her. How would my poor mother feel if I got her to mind baby and not her.
What are your thoughts on this ? Has anyone ever gone through anything similar? Thanks
Yesterday I was at a family gathering at my partners sisters house. My MIL was there of course. I dont know how I feel about what she did. She just went off with my 4 month old for a walk and didn't really say anything. She was gone well over a half hour. While she was gone I was getting anxious being away from the baby. I knew myself baby was in good hands it was just the way she disappeared without a word. I didn't say anything to her after but was annoyed. Have I reason to be?
There has been a few things with her that I dont be too happy about but at times. I do wonder though am I just trying to find reasons to be annoyed with her. Another thing that happened my partner, the MIL and myself went to a family event together. She pretty much held baby the entire time where I felt it was somewhere I should of been showing off baby. I could go on but this post would be ridiculously long.
EDIT: Thank you all for the responses.

I think most people are aware although wonderful babies can be hard. I'm a first time mam with a four month old and am beyond frustrated when it comes to parking at stores.
I was in Lidl carpark recently to drop off my mam while I waited for her with my baby in the carpark. I didn't take up a parent/baby space as I thought I'm not going in so leave it for someone who needs it. I counted about 7 different people parking in the parent/baby spaces who clearly didn't need to park there. It really annoyed me.
There today I was in Dunne stores just myself and baby so I said I'd park in baby/parent space. No surprises full up again with people who didn't need it. I was already having a stressful day it would have made a big difference to have that space. I ended up parking further from the shop in a regular space. I was just praying no one parked up beside me while I shopped as I didn't know if I'd get her back into the car. I ended up coming in and out of the shop twice as I couldnt manage with all the items.
Please people of Ireland respect that the parent/baby spaces are for parent/babies. It would help us mams massively
EDIT Just want to add I've also noticed the best behaviour in people when I'm out and about with baby. People can be so lovely and helpful. I just don't know what it is about the spaces
I have a 3 month old and I want to set up a savings account for her for her future. What would be the best way to set this up and with who? I want the money to go on something sensible when shes older. I read a story about someone dong this for their child but when he got his hands on the money at 18 he squandered it. What would be the best way to prevent something like that?
I have moved house and have a whole heap of CDs i dont know what to do with. Very doubtful I'll ever use them again. What are people doing to get rid of them? Charity shop? Dump?
I'm 36 years old and hate, hate, hate that sugar still has such control over my life. I joined this community to get some inspiration. Everyone on here is doing incredibly well and it has inspired me but I'm just so out of control. I thought at this stage of my life I'd finally have control. If anything I'm so much worse. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I can't go a day without eating loads of sugary treats. As I get older the more of an affect its having on my health. I have a young daughter and I really want to set an example for her. I just dont know where to start.
I have a brother who suffers from a mental illness due to a head injury many years ago. While living at home I always tried my best to look after them. Mostly just made an effort to spend time with him get him out for walks etc. He doesn't do anything outside of work. Been like this for years and it doesn't look like anything will change anytime soon. I always thought well at least he goes to work.
The atmosphere at home was always a bit tense as my parents never got on. He would sit in his room ignoring it while I couldn't listen to it so would get involved. I'm sure none of this done him any good. According to my sister who visited them recently nothings changed.
Since moving out we had a row. I went home to visit and he was getting smart with me which led to him telling me he's much happier now I have moved out. It was probably one of the worst things ever said to me especially because it came from him. I always looked out for him and thought we were close. The very odd time we did argue he'd say I said this to him one time or I did that to him and honest to god cant recall any of it. Its like he made it up. We kinda made up after row but it continued to play on my mind. He doesn't visit me doesn't text me nothing. One sense I'm not surprised because thats the way he is.
I had a baby two months ago and got no congratulations from him or anything. I rang him up and exploded with him when I heard he wasn't going to visit the baby with my Mam and sister the same week I was home. I shouldn't have but two days of no sleep and hormones going crazy I'm not surprised. He did send me a lovely message later on so I think he knew he was in the wrong.
Anyway since all that I've seen him once or twice but find it awkward around him now. My Mam is going through treatments for an illness at the moment and I hear he looks after her well. Nearly does too much and she lets him. I do feel incredibly sorry for him. I don't want to wash my hands of him but I feel all of this has effected my own mental health I'm even considering therapy. I think I'm afraid if I stopped making any effort with him will he get worse mentally. I'm just so incredibly hurt by it all. Although I've had a beautiful little baby I think of it often. Where do you draw the line with him?
I've started letting my 2 month old sleep for longer stretches at night its great getting that bit of extra sleep. I'm just curious what does everyone do about leaky boobs during the night because of the longer stretches. Are you getting up to pump while baby sleeps?
Is it me or does the breastfeeding make you insanely hungry? I'm eating all around me constantly. I feel I have no control whatsoever. I think I've actually put on more weight now than I did during my entire pregnancy. My baby is only 10 weeks but surely this can't be normal. Anyone got any tips? I feel I cant keep going this way as I'm really feeling the side effects of the weight gain. I'm worried I'll get to a place of no return.
This might be a stupid question but how do you go about getting some therapy? I've had a few big changes in my life recently good and bad but the bad is taking from the good. I think it would do me the world of good to get a bit of therapy. I just dont know how to go about it. Do I have to make an appointment with the GP to be referred or can I go about it another way? Thank you all
I have a 8 week old little girl. I'm just curious how often do you wash your babies clothes? I have been washing them after every wear. Is that too much? I'm washing non stop. Her clothes for the most part are never dirty only the odd time she might have an explosion or spit up.
Is it normal to get your period while breastfeeding? My LO is nearly 8 weeks old and I just my period back. I thought you dont get it at all while breastfeeding. I have been pumping more lately rather than feed her directly would that have an effect on it?
I have a near 8 week old and I'm getting very sick of my partner at the minute. I'm here with the baby all day mostly on my own. I do have my Mother out nearly everyday for a bit but I can't rely on her as shes not too well and is going through treatment. I dont like asking her do anything so its mostly just company which is lovely.
My partner has the kind of job where he could be very busy with work gone all day or very quiet where he has loads of spare time. It can't be helped. One week he was gone every day all day but had the Sunday free. Instead of saying I'll stay home and help me with the newborn he helped a family member with something else instead.
What is annoying me the most is the pressure he puts on me. I feel I have to keep on top of the house work, as well as cook and look after the baby. I wouldn't mind as much if he was more grateful and doesn't come home asking did you go for your walk today. I feel like saying I barely have time to piss. He'll also sometimes go on about my eating habits which I remit are terrible at the moment but more pressure. Its like give me a break. Anytime we had visitors I was the one offering to make them tea which just made him look terrible.
When hes home hes just grumpy and unpleasant makes smart remarks constantly.
He use to live with his mother before meeting me. I feel she done too much for him and expects me to do the same.
We recently went on our first proper day out with baby which I was excited about but he just seemed annoyed throughout.
I do feel bad given out about him as he does cover most of the bills and works hard. If there was anything I needed he would buy it for me without question.
I'm just disappointed with how things are right now. I do see online women saying how great their partners have been to them after having a baby.
Anyone know of a window cleaning service that cleans the windows of houses? I'm just outside carlow town. Thanks
