What would be be needed to revive the AJGAR (Ahir, Jat, Gurjar, Rajput/Ror) brotherhood in NW India?

Is it possible to create a coalition of agrarian/pastoral communities in NW India. The first coalition gave us the country's first and only agrarian Prime Minister. All of these groups are proud, dominant and facing an erosion of gains because of the decreasing relevance of agriculture in the economy. All of these castes (except Rajputs) are also separate ethnic groups or tribes that have been incorporated into the Hindu caste system as Shudras. The rise of the upper caste Hindu BJP-RSS has seen these communities marked as the enemy (anti-Jat narratives in Haryana and Rajasthan, anti-Ahir in UP, anti-Gurjar in NCR).

Do you think it is possible for these groups to come together again politically as equals?

Would you support intermarriage and social relations between these communities?

Could someone help me interpret these results and recommend other analyses?

I tried running qpadm on MADAI with the raw DNA file I got from Ancestry. Could someone help me understand what these results mean and if they are reliable? What other analysis can I do with the raw DNA file?

Is there a need for Maths and Science tutors in HRM?

Hi, I'm a qualified computer science engineer currently working in a different field, and I've been thinking about doing some tutoring on the side. I've always enjoyed math and physics, and I'd like to help high school students who may be struggling with these subjects. I think I have a decent handle on Chemistry as well.

The extra income would help me feel less guilty about buying an expensive gaming laptop, but this isn't primarily about the money. I already have a full time job, Id just like to share my enthusiasm for these subjects, and maybe earn enough to fund a few gaming purchases.

I'm curious whether private tutoring is common in Halifax and how people typically get started. Are there local tutoring companies that you'd recommend?

I'd appreciate any advice from tutors, parents, or students who have experience with this.

Was hating Muslims (also Christians/Sikhs) always common in Haryana or is this a new phenomenon?

Growing up I didn't hear people discuss Muslims or Islam as a topic, they were always discussed as another community that lives in India. The only people who used to have a lot of hate for them were Punjabi migrants and RSS supporters but no one took them seriously.

With the BJP government in power for over ten years now, I am observing a change in people's attitude where people are obsessed with Muslims and bring them up randomly in conversations. There is a WhatsApp group for homeowners of our sector, and the Punjabis and Brahmins keep posting extremely offensive videos and posts about Muslims, so much so that the admin had to restrict non-admins from posting. They are people in their 50s and 60s. The only ones objecting to such hateful content were the Jat members everyone else kept quiet. Yesterday, there was a post on this subreddit that had a bunch of people abusing Muslims for no reason. The hate towards Sikhs seems to have become visible and open from the time of the farmers protest.

This makes me wonder if this is how Haryanvi society always was and is now being revealed through social media and people coming in touch with other communities, or if with the BJP government in power people feel more comfortable airing their views?

Edit: If you hate an entire community because the religion they practice or the caste they were born into, you are garbage. If your parents are like that - they are garbage too.

Is it true that only certain communities in Haryana take pride in speaking Haryanvi?

I recently came across a couple from Haryana. While having a conversation with them, they told me that they don't speak Haryanvi, and don't want their children to learn Haryanvi since they consider it uncultured and rough. I don't remember what their community was, but they were OBC. I have friends or associates outside Haryana from other communities as well - Sunar, Saini, Ahir, Kumhar, Jangra, Dhanuk, Baniya and they all seem to try to avoid conversing with me in Haryanvi as much as possible and prefer Hindi. Those among them who have children teach them Hindi as their mother tongue. Hindu Punjabi migrants dislike both Haryanvi and Punjabi, and also prefer Hindi.

On the other hand, my Jat and Brahmin friends prefer speaking in Haryanvi. Among Jats, someone who can't speak Haryanvi is considered "aadha Jat". They don't shy away from speaking Haryanvi in public either. Someone speaking in Hindi is referred to as "Ghana angrej bane h" Gurjars seem to prefer speaking Braj as well, at least among themselves.

Is this just a very localized example or is this indicative of a general trend? I feel that people from oppressed communities prefer identitifying with symbols of sophistication and prestige like Hindi and English. On the other hand, Jats and Brahmins feel like they don't need to prove anything since they already enjoy a high social status. Communities like Baniyas and Rajputs may identify more with their origins in Rajasthan/Marwa or Hindutva and not see Haryanvi as core to their identity. That is just speculation on my part. Is there any truth to this?

The middle class cheered when farmers and labourers, Muslims, Dalits were brutalized and attacked. You are reaping what you sowed.

When the oppressed sections of Indian society were facing tear gas, bullets, batons and sedition cases, they were called anti-nationals, traitors, and misguided by the middle class. People were calling them foreign funded with toolkits and shedding crocodile tears for law and order. A damaged DTU bus was considered more precious the lives of millions of farmers. The media and urban middle class seem to have woken up only now when it's urban baniya and Punjabi Gen Z that's affected.

Why should the Indian state care for your feelings when you let them kill and torture farmers from your own state protesting for their rights? I sympathize with the protesting students, but feel no solidarity with them. They care only for their own interests, which is why they are only criticizing one minister and still supporting the PM who appointed him. They are still going to vote for BJP like members of a cult. You will go back to abusing Muslims, reservations, farmers, any demand for equality when this is all said and done.

The farmers outlasted bullets, pellet guns, tear gas, biting cold, 700 deaths, negative propaganda and a hostile middle class who abused them in public and social media for one year before making the PM beg and cry on national television. Let's see how long these urban baniya and Punjabi protestors last, good luck.

I wish more communities were willing to laugh at themselves like Jats.

Recently there was news of a particular community in Hisar protesting at being called 'Refugee' and declaring that they taught the people of Haryana how to read and write, wear clothes and eat food. This is despite the fact that refugee is an accurate term. Palestinians are considered refugees even if they have been in countries like Lebanon and Jordan for generations. Muslim migrants from UP and Bihar are also called refugees/Muhajirs in Pakistan. The term is simply a descriptor of the origin of a community that is not native to the region. However, this community is now agitating for the term to be made a crime in Haryana.

I think people need to learn that the more you get irritated by how society talks about you, the more people will use it. Jats on the other hand laugh with others at jokes about them. You'll now see cars with 16x2=8 stickers. Jats themselves share jokes about them being rash, hot-headed or stubborn. Why can't other communities have the same lightheartedness and confidence in themselves? It's like people are always ready to turn victim and cry about being insulted. That can't be healtht for your mental health.

I'm looking for a text based solo rpg I can play on my phone

I've been going through a rough phase in my life and I'd like to have a game that I can quickly start and resume on my phone.

Genre doesn't matter but I'd prefer fantasy. Preferably free but I can pay a nominal price. Doesn't matter if it is AI or not, if you think I should be using LLMs instead - let me know which one you would recommend. I just want it to be immersive and well crafted

I'd like to be able to play something for 15-30mins and then come back to it after a couple of hours.

Recommendations for places to rent

Hi. r/Truro I am looking to move to Truro from the city for work. Are there any places you would recommend trying my luck at? Any places I need to avoid? I've got a toddler with me so I'd like to get someplace that's safe and quiet.

I have a budget of around $1800. What can I hope to get in that budget within a 15km radius of Truro?
