Rules

Runes that border each other are connected, unless subject to a connection or combination rune.

Higher runes increase by a value of 10 normally, but can be rewired to increase by a value of between 0 and 10 using a number(input) rune.

Lower runes are the reverse of higher runes.

You can probably guess what their (half) variants do too.

A activation rune has to be connected to a rune which causes an effect to work, and can be triggered by any input rune.

Runes which produce an effect are any output runes, any spell storing runes and any core runex except the Higher rune and Lower rune.

Time runes are used to set a timer.

Activity runes interact with time runes and tell them that the effect rune they are connected to are being activated for x amount of time.

Inactivity runes interact with time runes and tell them to wait x amount of time until activating another rune.

Time runes only interact with one effect rune at a time.

If connected to two effect runes, the one closer to the activation rune on the construct is activated first.

Spell storing runes just activate spells.

Power runes connect to spell-storing runes and increase/decrease the power of the spell by +2 per higher rune, or -2 per lower rune. Half of that if it is a (half) variant of a higher or lower rune.
This is regardless of any number(input) rune connected to Higher or Lower rune.

I am pretty sure that covers everything, if not, ask.

Examples

Example rune construct one increases the temperature of the object it is written on by 50 kelvin if touched.

Example rune construct two decreases the temperature of the object it is written on by 40 kelvin if touched.

Example rune construct three, when touched, increases the temperature of the object it is written on by 30 kelvin for 20 seconds before decreasing the temperature by 30 kelvin for another 20 seconds.

Example rune four shoots two minimum power dorrilium beams for 10 seconds when a cetrain sound hits the sound(imput) rune. This can be anything from a spoken phrase to the sound of a bell.

The last rune construct is the standard one found in most Marasawan rifles, and when touched fires a dorrilium beam capable of punching through 18cm of tungsten per second. This beam lasts for 2 seconds.

A bit of Lore

There are two magic systems on Marasawa, the "normal" one and the rune one. The normal one casts spells by basically just nicely asking Tara, the last remaining god, to do a specific type of divine intervention. Which she usually does unless incapacitated. Or unless she refuses because it doesn't fit her morals.

Rune magic functions without Tara, but is more limiting in what can be done with it. It can only be used to alter an objects properties or cast spells from a VERY limited list.

Rune magic is the first thing Marasawan children learn after learning how to write normal language and basic maths. Though they usually are not told how to do cast any destructive spells using it.

The basics of rune magic are extremely easy to learn, after all. But it is hard to master. Experienced runesmiths can use tens of thousands of individual runes to make rune constructs capable of controlling machines that would otherwise require modern computers to operate.

Rune magic is also incredibly easy to mass produce. Once a rune construct has been made, an infinite amount of copies can be made with the right tools.

It is rare to see an object that has not been enchanted this way on Marasawa.

For the vehicle(A.4.d.P.z.K.e.m.F.):

A4, unyielding wall of steel and firepower, shatterer of dreams.

That's the mercenary from gunsaw.

I think it looks slightly less horrendous than the other attempts of drawing expies I made so far.

Like, not good by any means, but at least not a TOTAL eyesore.

The city of mons castellum is located in a mountain pass, and pretty much the only way of getting through the mountain range it is located in. It also holds the title of the most fortified city on the planet.

And the 2. Imperial armored division of the Holy empire of Talonia was build and trained in that city.

And so, when the forces of the khilian alliance advanced they were stopped dead in their tracks at mons castellum.

For weeks.

While it did fall, it took almost a fourth of the invading army with it and depleted nearly all of their ammo.

(I am also going to give whatever trigger warning applies to characters that are immortal and suicidal at the same time.)

ScD-7-155 is the protagonist of a fanfic I am writing set in the universe of Wings of Fire.

She is an antwing subcommand drone (Which is a species of dragon I added. I added a lot of species and subspecies.), which essentially means that she can control antwing worker and guard drones and is controlled by a queen.

She is also called Tarantula, which is what I will be using for now.

Tarantula is currently a student at jade mountain academy and was send there to interact with other dragon tribes(Tribes in wings of fire are a combination of species and country). She is 9 years old, which is an adult by dragon standards(dragons usually reach adulthood at the age of 7, antwings around the age of 6). Translated to human years, she would be somewhere in her twenties.

She has to be under constant mind-control by her sister to not mental breakdowns all the time.

Also, Tarantula has a L.A.N.C.E implant, which makes her kind of immortal. Basically, she steals lifes. Whenever she kills someone, she can reconstruct herself 10 more times.

She can do that no matter the damage. Though more damage usually equals more 'charges' of her L.A.N.C.E implant. For example, getting her throat slit and dying to that will only take one charge to fix, but being thrown in the blender for an hour or two would probably take 10-20 charges.

Tarantula is also the least mentally stable character I have ever made.

Authors note: I interacted with her a lot and a lot of the issues only become clear when you spend time with her. Otherwise she just seems like a somewhat crazy subcommand drone with one too many drinks. Even when she probably had far more than that.

She also seems to be agreeable enough to properly interact with dragons from other tribes without causing too much concern as any oddities will just be written off as the result of her slowly loosing it.

Personality-wise she is always as honest as she can be without revealing any of the classified stuff she knows, always gets overly exited when she gets to be with her sister, but doesn't really care about any person that is not her sister. Though that is overwritten by baseline antwing instincts in situations that require her to protect a large number of other dragons, at which point she genuinely cares.

She is also kinda dumb. Sure she is more intelligent than most antwings, but that's not saying a lot. Compared to most dragons she is still kinda stupid. But her tribe does have a decent education system which manages to compensate enough for her to be able to hold somewhat challenging conversations.

Tarantula also does not like philosophical dilemmas. Because they are either easy or hurt her head to the point where she just wants to make good use of her L.A.N.C.E implant.

Lastly, she isn't really afraid to get her claws dirty. She will use any methods she has to do accomplish whatever she has been told to accomplish. Even if those methods aren't moral.

It is also important to remember that she does NOT have free will. And that she isn't human, and therefor does not think like one.

currently it's a 20% chance for every citadel for every turn. I should probably tune that down to like, 5%. or not have them freespawn at all.

Thorns are Eclisia's most basic combat drones. They also double as the drones she usually uses to communicate with non-hiveminds.

This may sound counter-intuitive, but Eclisia likes acting like a symbiotic organism to any civilization she encounters, where she feeds on any biological(and often non-biological) waste and in return defends that civilization and helps out with big projects, so thorns usually only see combat when everything goes wrong.

However, if there is a problem she cannot talk to, she is absolutely willing to bury it in thorns. There is no upper limit to how many she is willing to spend. There is no limit to the time she is willing to take. She will just keep sending more thorns until that problem dissapears. One of the many upsides of being an unending hive is that she can just eat the dead thorns again afterwards. and the ground they died on.

And your OC somehow managed to piss off the inter-multiversal mostly pacifist all-consuming swarm. Good luck. (Bonus points if you explain how your OC did that, because Eclisia isn't even capable of holding grudges. or malice, for that matter.)

We will assume that Eclisia is only sending thorns.

As for the stats of a thorn:

They are 2.3 meters tall. Like most of Eclisia, they are a fusion of flesh and machine.

Thorns are durable enough to survive some small arms fire and keep moving, but anything more powerful than an anti-tank rifle is going to cause too much damage and shut the drone down.

One of them is armed with a fully automatic 6 gauge shotgun with slug rounds capable of punching through basic power armor, and buckshot capable of shredding lightly armored infantry. The stinger injects up to 300ml of chlorine into the victim's body.

The claw is a repurposed industrial metalcutter, and will cut through up to 20 centimeters of tungsten like a hot knive through butter.

Speed-wise a thorn can run at 30-ish km/h. 40 if they do overdrive, which has the side effect of cooking the thorn in a matter of minutes.

They have a reaction time of 0.010 seconds.

So, how many will it take? or is it even possible? (yes, it does count as a win for Eclisia if the OC is buried in so many corpses that they get crushed by the weight or suffocate.)(also, is matchup search the right flair for this one, or is this more of a discussion? or maybe vs battle? I really can't tell.)

But quick TLDR:

The Intergalactic exploratory force(Usually just called IGEF) is a inter-multiversal organization which protects it's own verse(and every other verse it is canonically in, which would be all of mine plus any verse made by other people who want to have them in it. I do not know if any of the latter exist.) from all of the absurdly destructive things that happen.

They are the people who stop the classic 'multiverse annihilator 2000 beam' from going too far,
They are the people who rebuild the universes shattered in the wake of upstart type 6 civilizations,
They are the people who keep the verse which they are in from tearing itself apart.

IGEF does this by using some of the most advanced sci fi and space fantasy plot devices technology you can imagine, and more importantly than that, by having a practically infinite amount of resources to throw at problems.

They are divided into 5 sub-organizations.

The Foundation of violence and other violent affairs is their military. It is also often called the sledgehammer, as it removes the fan once shit has hit it.

The exploratory force is their, well, exploratory force and science division.

The department of outside context problems is practically the SCP foundation, but public and under IGEF control.

The Foundation of industrial affairs controls the means of production. They make sure IGEF actually makes proper use of it's infinite resources.

The Department of diplomatic actions does exactly what it sounds like, it handels almost all non-violent outside contact.

Anyone can join IGEF as long as they are doing it out of their own free will and are not doing it for a selfish reason.

They will Explore, protect and improve everything they can, no matter what it takes.

And they will be silly while doing it.

But don't worry, they are friendly to everyone who hasn't pissed them off to badly.
