Can’t do sweat therapy due to anhidrosis, now what?

Got my first episode of CU last night after a hot shower. The problem is I can’t break a sweat because I have an autoimmune disease that causes anhidrosis (inability to sweat). I overheat extremely easily, more than the average person and I assume this plays into it. So what is another natural way I can prevent these episodes?

Heat causing uncomfortable bloating ?

I’ve had a bunch of new symptoms emerge in the last 2 years (been sick for 10). One of them is immediately bloating like a balloon when I start overheating and it snowballs into having horrible nausea and shortness of breath. It doesn’t even have to be all that hot. The only thing that helps these episodes is dumping cold water on myself or standing directly in front of the AC. But it takes about half an hour to get back to normal. I just don’t know why I’m having so many change in symptoms, it’s scaring me a little.

How to go about H Pylori treatment while dealing with MCAS

I’ve been diagnosed with Dysautonomia recently, which I know I’ve had for a decade. 2 years ago I started having increasing GI symptoms and was diagnosed with H Pylori & gastritis. The problem is the last time I took antibiotics I had a very uncomfortable histamine reaction, so naturally I’m hesitant to try eradicating the bacteria with high doses of antibiotics without having a game plan. I cannot risk stopping the antibiotics mid way.

I’m certain MCAS or HI might be at play with my gastritis because I only improve on H2 blockers, whereas PPIs take weeks to *partially* improve my symptoms

Has anyone been in a similar dilemma ? Maybe for another infection that required high doses of abx ?

COVID set me back so bad

I was doing so good one year post diagnosis. Took me 6 months to feel better and had reached a comfortable plateau and then Covid (or the flu) hit me a month ago and immediately I was having panic like attacks which start with intense lava burning in my esophagus and ever since then my stomach is where it was when I first started with this. The worst part is waking up with intense nausea in the mornings. It seriously makes me wanna disappear from this earth!! What’s the deal with viral illness and gastritis?

I suspect it could be a histamine issue as well because Pepcid immediately makes all my symptoms better, where a PPI takes so long to build up and doesn’t really do as good of a job with symptoms

It feels like I have an ulcer but endoscopy only found chronic gastritis?

I can barely stand up some days because the gnawing pain is worse with activity. Nausea 24/7. Shortness of breath. And it’s all centered in my stomach. I know it’s coming from there.

But when I had the endoscopy she said visually my stomach looked great, obviously once the biopsy came back I had chronic active gastritis and H pylori.

Can either of these feel THAT bad? It’s hard to believe I don’t have an ulcer.

Feeling of dread every morning

I wake up thinking “This is my life. Forever”. I wish I could say the grief has gotten easier after a decade of being sick, but it hasn’t. Especially since I’ve had a decline in health after having my son 4 years ago. And no one quite understands.

For example, one of my worst symptoms at the moment is my anhidrosis. I don’t sweat. And when I tell people I can’t take their invite to the beach or to do something fun because I can’t sweat, they don’t realize how life threatening that can be..and even when I force myself, I’m just so uncomfortable because I’m overheating all the time. I just don’t even explain myself anymore. I’m starting to avoid everyone.

I feel trapped in my own body.

Still having nipple changes with clean mammogram and ultrasound

You can look at my post history but basically I went to my PCP because I was having pain in my right breast. But way before that I was having weird nipple stuff going on, retraction for 6 months prior and itchiness for a year prior. Now I’m having cracking and milk blebs on my nipple but I’m not breastfeeding. Everything I read says breast cancer, but I’ve already had testing. I’ve read that Paget’s can show up like this. Thankfully my pcp is taking my concerns seriously and is sending me to a breast surgeon, idk if they’ll want a biopsy but I’m scared. I thought negative testing would calm my nerves down, but now I just feel like I have a sneaky type of cancer.

OUTRAGED. Second day of ABA in home therapy

I’m sure this is NOT the norm but my son just started 8 hours in home therapy. 4 hours in the morning with a wonderful therapist and today he started 4 hours in the evening.

First, this girl walks in stoned out of her mind. Reeks of weed. She’s on her phone texting when we’re not looking. And worst of all she barely even acknowledges my son?!?! Like why waste everyone’s time. Even I do a better job at interacting with him and I’m constantly burnt out!

I immediately called her supervisor. She will not be coming back again but I asked that she not bring it up until the session is done and she’s out of our home.

Delaying mammogram and ultrasound bc I don’t have a good feeling

Deep down I know breast cancer is a real possibility. Almost like a bad gut feeling.

I’ve had itching on my right breast for over a year now, occasional nipple inversion for the last 3 months, and for 3 weeks now I’ve had deep breast/nipple pain, which is the reason I went in.

And as of a week ago by nipple seems to be a little cracked and raw and the “Montgomery glands” seem to be inflamed.

I’m actually quite lucky to have the opposite experience of most women in that my PCP ordered an urgent ultrasound and mammogram because in her own words “I don’t play when it comes to breast and colon cancer” but I’ve been delaying so badly

I’m scared. Terrified. I already have autoimmune issues that limit my quality of life. I’m more scared at the thought of not tolerating chemo. My aunt died after her second chemo.

I seriously can’t think of anything else this can be.

My 4yo hasn’t left the house in a year

I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m making myself sick from the stress of it all. My kiddo has had an aversion to the world it seems. One day he just decided he didn’t want to get in our car anymore and he hasn’t left the house since. That was last September. If we force him, he will injure himself. So I’ve stopped doing that. No bribes work. He won’t even want to cross the street anymore. Over the course of 6 months he started warming up to the idea of getting in the car and will play in it now but as soon as he sees the keys he runs out frightened.

So how can I acclimate him to go out at all if he’s scared of all vehicles and won’t even cross the street walking?

He starts in home ABA next week but I’m feeling very hopeless and depressed right now. I feel like I’m failing him so badly. We’re behind on so many appointments. I’m scared they’ll eventually call CPS on me or something

I feel like God is punishing me and I don’t know why

I’ve been struggling with my faith a lot lately. There isn’t a day where I’m not in pain, or uncomfortable, and like now just downright miserable with regular stuff plus a nasty flu. And of course I’m always the sickest when the house catches a bug. I try to be thankful everyday but it’s getting harder and harder to want to be here. Even for my kid. At this point I’m here because I’m simply too much of a coward.

I can’t help but to feel like maybe I deserve this somehow, but idk how or why. Maybe I’m paying some kind of past life debt. I’m just sad. I can’t stop crying.

The importance of context and not just headlines

Sometimes I get super freaked out by the idea of canning because of botulism (I think most newbies are). I’m looking up why we can’t safely can nopales & obviously it’s because there are no safely tested recipes. But I came across a case of botulism from home canned nopales in 2024 but I was SHOCKED when I read the entire article.

This lady put a low acid vegetable in a glass jar, closed the lid, AND LEFT IT IN HER SHED FOR SIX WEEKS. No water bath, no pressure canning. WTF LADY! She’s lucky nobody died. Here’s the article if anyone is interested:
