Hello, my name is Douglas Campbell, I review movies and occasionally TV on YouTube. This summer has been pretty inconsistent with the movies coming out, but things have been picking up. Spider-Man, The Odyssey and now we have another solid movie with Oak Street. This movie wasn’t perfect but if it told us anything we didn’t already know, the latter Jurassic World movies totally blew it! I consider Oak Street the REAL Jurassic World Dominion.

Hello, my name is Douglas Campbell, I review movies and occasionally TV on YouTube. Awhile back I saw a new Ice Cream Man was coming out and I came up with an idea to compare and contrast my thoughts on the original 1995 film and this new film.

I saw it and it wasn’t great or anything, (more of my thoughts are in the video), however I found out gradually that Eli Roth used AI for his film. I don’t know why he thought that was a good idea…even how it’s used in the film is so unnecessary.

My Dad introduced me to Greek Myths when I was younger and I grew up reading a few of the stories, but never got around to The Odyssey.

Regardless of that, I was really excited to see The Odyssey and I think what Nolan did was fantastic!!! It covers a lot of ground and there are a lot of moving pieces, but how Nolan structures the story, he keeps everything together.

Moana (2016) was kinda groundbreaking at the time for introducing many people to Polynesian mythology and culture, as well as blending past and present Disney tropes. Add on top of that great music from Lin Manuel Miranda, Disney was really cooking and I think Moana deserves its modern classic status.

It only makes sense with how Disneys been lately that they’ll take something as groundbreaking as Moana and make it stale. To get this virtually back to back with Moana 2 is very disappointing.

Minions and Despicable Me is a franchise that has somehow defied the odds and became one of the most profitable franchises of all time. And despite the internet constantly ragging on them and Illumination, they are stronger than ever.

I fell off Despicable Me in 2013, but when I heard people had some positive thoughts on Minions & Monsters I had to check it out…I can see why someone would recommend I check it out with what I talk about online.

News recently came out that Kate Beckinsale is replacing Milla Jovovich in “Twilight of the Dead”. This movie has been in development for a while, and between this, the Paz Brothers replacing Brad Anderson as director, and no real updates on the production beginning anytime soon, and most articles reiterating the same information, I have a feeling this film isn’t going to actually be made.

I’m not involved with the Romero estate, or one of the people trying to get this project off the ground, so I have no insight into this production…but there’s been just so little updates that I’m starting to doubt it. But I’d like to be proven wrong!

I love Romero’s original trilogy, (even LOTD) and with him writing one final Dead script, I would love to see how he intended to wrap it up in a way that continued the trajectory of his zombie apocalypse film to film. I doubt it would be as good as the original 3 films, but I would’ve liked to see it. But with the over-saturation of the zombie genre apparently causing this much of a struggle to get TOTD off the ground, it might be better to leave it behind and enjoy the films Romero did make.
