Review of equipment

Salam, so here's an honest review of the equipment I received in the giveaway from srmrox. The Hand grinder is extremely good quality, the burs are coated in titanium and I'll say it's perfect for esspresso and the overall fell is premium. The scale is also very good and precise and also has a timer for timing shots and the rubber helps keep the cup in place. The mokapot is good and makes good coffee however the built quality is a bilt light not very bad but slightly lighter metal used and it leaks a little but I think that's is on me cuz I didn't tight properly. Overall I this everything is top notch and the grinder is extremely beautiful and quick and premium. It grimded coffee very fine and consistent. I'll attach the images.

Need help regarding gene cafe cbr 101

So I have a gene cafe cbr 101 and am on the verge of selling it bcz I want to roast for v60 and Columbian/Ethiopian beans at medium or light roast. Now gene cafe whenever I roast or whatever I try it always gets that nutty dark and a bit smokey roast and usually medium dark. I tried going max and then 230°C for 1 min after FC total roast time was usually 10-13 min. Beans always look like a bit dark brown and small black spots. And the chaff golden layer Is clearly visible in the middle unlike those beautiful beans I get from local roasters that look very uniform in color and smell very fruity and jammy , what should I do , can gene actually roast for filter coffee and make the fruity notes pop and have a uniform medium roast?

Hi need ur help.

So I bought coffee beans from a local roaster in Pakistan, the beans were quiet expensive I'll send the pic. So they were roasted 3 days ago and still the aroma is very dull and not that good or fruity which it's supposed to be. They said it 100% arabica beans and from Columbian circasia. I'll attach the image. Just tell me if they look like a good light roast and are arabica. Also I compared them to my other beans 20 days old and the other smelled extremely good compared to this. I just wanna know if these beans are a good roast and if they are 100% arabica. Bought for mainly v60.

Admission query

So I'm applying for giki entrance test, I did olevel the fsc. Now I have 1 E in math in olevel, I think giki req minimum d in all subjects so will I be eligible? Also it has an option for covid 19 exempt but my math paper was cancel in 2023 so am I eligible for that option as if I clicked co that option the criteria of minimum d is not applied.

Anyone with d in olevels get into giki?

So I want to order coffee beans but for pour over/ filter and maybe sometimes latte. I want something fruity and light and sweet, not dark and nutty , I have tried raaz Columbian huailia which was extremely good but very expensive, grao was mid , scafe Brazil Santos was okay but more on the chocolaty side for esspresso, mrbeans was also okay same made for esspresso or milk,

I know beans roasted for pour over are usually expensive and harder to roast but is there still a cheaper bean out there to try? Especially for me being a student I can't afford expensive beans so which one do u guys recommend that u have tried. For FILTER COFFEE not esspresso and Fruity, Sweet.

Price should be below 3k preferably

Selling my gene cafe cbr 101 coffee roasting machine, no issue whatsoever, I have roasted around 5kg of coffee on it, max capacity is 250gm at a time. Selling reason is because I don't have time to focus on this . No box only what is seen in pic is available. It is the degree Celsius version. Price 150k.

So I have a gene cafe cbr 101. I wanted to roast my Kenyan AA for pour over like medium roast so that I can taste it's fruity sweet notes but no matter how ever I try with which ever beans I always get that same old chocolaty nutty hazelnuty coffee that's meant for latte and is slightly bitter. I tried a lot and still can get right. Has anyone ever roasted good medium roasted beans for pour overs in gene? Is it even possible?. I usually do this, preheat 220°C then pour beans

215°C 5min ( drying)

222°C 3 min (yellowing pre maiard)

228°C 4 min ( Millard)

And stop 1:40 sec after FC.

It's been an year with my gene and I have never gotten to taste the beans origin in the roast it always goes away. Any roasting profile for Kenyan will be very appreciated.

I am also thinkg to make my own drum roaster maybe that helps.

So guys after my previous posts, and learning that only a handful of people roast at home in Pakistan. And the lack of sellers willing to sell less beans I've got an idea.

So green beans can only be bought in bulk, I was thinking if me and some other guys like some of you who are willing, we come together and decide a bean like let's say Brazil cerrado and Columbian supremo or Ethiopian geisha or maybe Kenyan AA( I've got contacts) , and we all decide one or maybe two bean origin and I order them in bulk cuz then it's cheap and we all contribute our share of money and I roast them and send them to you but like I sell them cheap like very little profit like if the bean costs 2k unroasted and I add only 100-200 rs cuz of packaging and electricity cost etc. and we make a WhatsApp group?

Basically like I order coffee roast it and sell it but like very cheap.

I have a gene cafe cbr 101, it roasts coffee really good like I compared it to mrbeans and scafe no joke I couldn't tell any difference honestly no difference. Like if u order Brazil Sao Paolo from Mr beans. It's gonna cost 2700 including shipping I think , but from me roasting it's gonna cost about 2k. This is just an idea and my roaster has less capacity so only few people can be in group. This idea was just a 2am idea I don't even know if it's gonna work just want some advice. ( Message became very long I'm sorry.)

( Also businesses I'm not gonna steal ur customers cuz I'm doing this with only few people.)

Are there any fellow home coffee roasters in pakistan? i was just wondering bcz i have never seen anyone roast in pakistan like home roast fopr personal use. If yes then how do u source your green beans. I had an idea that if there are significant number of home roasters in pakistan we can create a group and import beans from abroad, which will be far cheaper for us and we can import our own prefered beans.
Also why dont many people home roast in pakistan. Like i home ropast on my gene cafe cbr and 250gm beans after roasted cost me a total of like 2300 rs and im talking about kenya, ethiopian shakiso etc i mean these beans which would cost 4k+ buying roasted from roastlab or red berry. And it can go as low as 1800 rs if i buy like brazil cerrado still 4k+ if buying rosted
