MicroRead: 1–10 min book summaries, free codes
Hey everyone! I’m a solo student dev, and I built MicroRead because I kept buying non-fiction books and never finishing them. A whole book felt like too big a commitment.
MicroRead gives you chapter-by-chapter summaries of non-fiction books, and you decide how long each chapter takes.
What it does:
- Enter a non-fiction book title and get an AI chapter-by-chapter summary in English, Arabic or German
- Choose your reading depth from 1 to 10 minutes per chapter
- Every chapter ends with 3 key takeaways, a quote and a 1-minute real-world application
- Voice narration in English and German (Arabic audio is coming)
- Save takeaways and quotes to a notebook, get them back as notifications, or share them as text or an image
- Daily targets and streaks to build a reading habit
- Earn XP, level up and unlock achievements as you read, from Novice to Polymath
UPDATE: Korean summaries added today after a request in the dm.
Giveaway: free lifetime Premium codes, while they last. Premium unlocks unlimited AI summaries, any chapter length from 1 to 10 minutes, Pro Audio, no ads and automatic streak protection.
How to get one:
- Download MicroRead on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microread.app&hl=en
- Comment which non-fiction book you’ve been meaning to finish, and which language you’d read it in (English, Arabic or German)
- I’ll send you a code by DM, first come first served, one per person. If I can’t start a chat with you, message me first and I’ll reply.
No review or upvote needed. To redeem: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Redeem promo code. If Premium doesn’t show up in the app, tap Restore purchases on the Premium screen.
Honest notes before you download: The app is free to use, with ads and 1 new AI summary per week on the free plan and the chapter depth are 3, 5 or 10 minutes only. Summaries are AI-generated, so they help you grasp a book’s key ideas but don’t replace the book. It’s very new, so you may hit bugs, and I’d like to hear about them.
I’d love brutally honest feedback on onboarding, summary quality and anything confusing. Happy to answer questions!
