How do I make a player not do something thats not supposed to work.

Player's trying to use a Longbow and a Shield. His argument is that the two-handed property specifies when you attack, but its clearly intended to not work that way. He has a history of trying to do things that are outside the rules and its a headache for everyone, because 2 and a half of us are DMs. Maybe im in the wrong here but I want yall's opinions

Adroit caster reaper synergy?

Does the bonus of adroit caster from the gemini gloves stack with death domains reaper? If I have the Gemini gloves on, can I target 4 creatures with toll the dead?

Something specific

I wanna make a damage-focused cleric of kelemvor. 5.5e, no legacy, 5e races are allowed. No ravenloft so grave domain is out, and it has to be damage-based so life is out too.

edit: this might seem insane but I think im gonna do Light domain. People say when you die you see the light, and also the city of the dead is gray, black is the absence of light so if you add a bit of it you get gray. is this a stretch? Most definitely.

Melee warlock?

I wanna do a pact of the blade warlock, what subclass is best for it?

Really the only subclass I can see that WOULDN'T give me something good is Celestial.

5.5e by the way, if it was 5e I know it's hexblade.

edit: I dont remember if my DM has ravenloft so what's the SECOND best option outside Undead

Act 1 gith greatsword

I was planning on using the beast master ranger to get the gith greatsword from the patrol, but after I do it and then come back they're hostile. Why? Everyone was invisible, the bear was dismissed, are they just always hostile or did it get patched?

Support halsin?

I personally like halsin's character more than shadowheart's, but is there any possible way for him to out-support a Life cleric? (If it helps my party is me, Vengeance Paladin planning on going to sorcerer, berserker karlach, and thief astarion.) also, does he become a permanent companion after you free him or does him being permanent come later

Faithbreaker smite

Pretty self-explanatory. Is there any way to use faithbreaker's Absolute Power with a divine smite?

Barb-lock?

I wanna make Thor basically, just let me know whether or not this sucks. 15-5 Barbarian-Warlock. Lightning Vessel and Celestial Patron. The healing is nice, but the real reason for Warlock is to get Eldritch Smite. It says you expend a spell slot, but it doesnt say you cast it. Which means it would work in Rage, and its a free action so you can do it immediately when you rage. That also frees up your Unbound Storm options after that. Pact of the blade is also nice to get a Maul, his obvious weapon of choice, right off the bat. What other invocations would you get for this btw?

Artificer-wild magic?

I have an idea for an alchemist artificer-wild magic sorcerer whose magic got unstable because he hasn't slept in years due to many potions of watchful rest. Is there anything to be had or is that just terrible all around?

is this multiclass worth it?

I wanna play a paladin, and I know both sorcadin and lockadin are really strong. but i kind of want..both? a dip into warlock for the hexblade so I can use charisma for attacks, then the rest would be a normal sorcadin. is it worth it to delay the paladin and sorcerer stuff for that? (I would start 1-vengeance paladin 1-warlock and then whatever else next)

Multiclass worth it?

I'm playing a Blade of Radiance rogue starting at level 3 and im wondering if multiclassing this is worth it. The leveling this campaign is gonna be relatively slow so idk. I was gonna take a level 1 dip in fighter for shields, but that will delay my subclass for several sessions, which if youve read this subclass, you know is really bad for it.

Help with a character build

So my friends and I are doing a campaign with some more morally Grey characters, and I want to make a Hollow Warden Ranger - Wild Magic Sorcerer, who gets his magic from eldritch horrors so its a little unstable, as is he. In terms of features, theres no issue. But the stats are an issue. You need Dex, Wis, Cha, and Con. So, any ideas anyone?
