Yes man posting

Had lots of fun painting my favourite robot in the Mojave, first time doing weathering on a mini as to fit the fallout universe. I usually go for a more clean look for my Warhammer minis so this pushed me out of my comfort zone but I think it came out pretty well!

First crimson fist

Painted my first crimson fist for my buddy, after reading Rynns world they became my top 3 fav chapters.
What do you guys think?

(don’t mind the glossy shoulders just waiting for them to cure for decals)

First black Templar

Painted up my first Black Templar for a friend. I think it was a good exercise exploring other colours considering I mainly paint green. Also had no decals so had to freehand the icon which was a pain in the ass.

What do you guys think?

First attempt at OSL and Basing

Hi all relatively new into the hobby — about one month in. I’ve done some basic basing stuff with mordant earth and some tufts but wanted to try my hand at some terrain building and OSL. I used a thin glazeish consistency of orange and applied it near the edges quite conservatively. Afraid of messing up my paintjob, should I be more liberal in application of it ? Is less more?

I think it looks alright, but not to the standard that I’ve seen others manage. What do you people normally use to achieve OSL lighting other than airbrushing ?

One month in! Also my Intercessor Sergeant

It’s been a month since I’ve taken the leap into the hobby and can say I’ve been loving it so far. I’ve learned plenty in such a short time and always look forward to picking up the brush at the end of the week.

Was kinda scared to paint the eyes but thankfully salamanders don’t really have an issue with that 😁

Kind of amazing to see how much of a difference in quality is compared to my first model. (The last image for reference.)

How to do swords

Does this look molten enough ? First time trying a sword like this, really struggled with the glazing consistency and thinness of it. Was afraid of making it too thick and I think that’s why most of the time it ended up way too thin and it liked to stick to the power node due to the water tension. Got any tips for molten weapons ?

Does this read as dried blood

Hello all new painter here.
Wanted to try my hand at a dried blood splatter effect . Used Vallejo heavy red and dry brushed a little onto the blade. Asked a few of my friends and family and some told me it didn’t look like it and thought it was rust instead . Thoughts ? And how would you all do a blood splatter effect like this ?

Salamanders or Crimson Fists ?

Complete warhammer 40k newbie here eagerly waiting for my first ever boxset which is the armageddon boxset.

So torn between making them Salamanders or Crimson Fists. But would these models wouldn't really fit a salamander army would they? Would they realistically see use in a salamander list?
