Towel/Drying Strategy

This feels like a slightly silly question, but what are peoples' strategies for drying themselves/things off? I know lightweight camping towels are a thing, but are there other ways people get themselves dry? I imagine a regular beach/shower towel would be too heavy and probably never really dry after the first use, but maybe not. So, what do you prefer to use?

Mayapple Ripeness

SE Wisconsin, middle of August. Do these mayapples look like they were picked ripe enough that they’ll ripen on the counter? They have a faint tropical smell, are somewhat soft, and were picked pretty easily

Is this what I think it is?

SE Wisconsin. I’m pretty confident this is what I think it is, but it’s the first time I’ve found it so I always like to get more opinions. Seems to be in pretty ideal shape to eat. I just tore it off where it wanted to break naturally, so I think it should all be pretty tender. There were some beetles and smaller bugs on it, but it doesn’t look too eaten up/past its prime. Photos were taken after I harvested, but I hope this still gives enough context.

Purchasing Official Tickets Without iDEAL

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy official tickets without iDEAL? I'll be visiting from the US in September and was hoping to see NL vs GERMANY, but when I tried to purchase tickets on the KNVB ticket website, the only options were for Dutch banks on iDEAL which I am not a member of. Does the ticketing website also accept credit/debit cards or American banks and I'm just not seeing it? I'm hoping to avoid third party sellers like StubHub.

Foraging next to train tracks

I know many people are pretty picky about foraging next to busy roads because of pollutants/contamination, but I’m curious what the general consensus is around train tracks? There are pretty widespread brambles around a set of train tracks with what I’d describe as moderate use, and the berries look so tempting, but I’m not sure about how “clean” or not they might be.

Leaky faucet help!

Can anyone tell me how I can fix this leaky Moen faucet? It is mildly infuriating and have not been able to find a fix.

These are Pleurotus right?

These are Oysters/Pleurotus right? SE Wisconsin. Growing on what I think are dead cottonwoods. Some were pretty well covered in Erotylidae beetles. Some seem to be a little past prime, but all still edible?

Steaming Milk

I did some digging in here and couldn't find the answer to a question I've had. Struggling to perfect milk steaming, I've watched a bunch of how-tos online and noticed that pretty much everyone steams wayyy more milk than they use. Most people fill their pitcher like half way, steam it, pour like a quarter of it into their espresso, and then the video ends. Is this just left over/dumped out? Is it possible to steam well only the amount of milk that you're going to use?

Netherlands vs. Germany 24 September 2026

Hello! I'll be visiting Amsterdam while the UEFA Nations League has Netherlands playing Germany in the city on 24 September 2026. From what I can tell, it's too early to buy tickets, but can anyone give me an idea of when tickets would go on sale/how to purchase them? I've been a supporter of KNVB due to my Dutch heritage, and would love a chance to see them!

Sea Gull to Saganaga Border Route

Hey! I have a 5 day 4 night trip coming up later in the summer with Tuscarora Outfitters with 4 guys total who have never really done something like this. We’re doing the Sea Gull Lake to Saganaga Lake border route. Does anyone have experience with this route. Looks like it takes most 4-5 days to complete, but we’re curious about how strenuous most days will be/how much time there will be to hang at/around camp.

Tacky Tung Oil

Does anyone have any remedies for pure tung oil ending up very tacky on a surface? I suspect it’s because I didn’t adequately wipe away the excess between coats. After my first two coats, the surface felt smooth, but the third and last has left a tacky surface.

Possible oyster mushrooms?

Pretty sure these are oysters. They look and smell like the ones I’ve bought, but I’ve never found them in the wild. Some had fallen off, but they were growing on what I think were dead cottonwoods. Located in SE Wisconsin

SCAM Website

PSA there’s a scam North Face website that ends in “facce.it.com” (I won’t put the full url) that looks extremely convincing and operates smoothly like the real TNF website and lists huge markdowns on items. Be alert!

Do these half free morels look good?

Just foraged these today, first morels ever so very excited. Many of them have a small hole or two near the base, is that normal/should they be fine to eat? Some of the caps are also pretty dry, is that normal?

Does anyone know what that motorcade southbound on I-94 around 8:30 pm 5/3 was for? There was a single coach bus being escorted by dozens and dozens of squad cars with lights and motorcycle police
